Due to the heavy congestion in HF bands, HF radars are restricted to operating within narrow frequency bands. To improve the system bandwidth and avoid heavy interference bands, a quasi-random step frequency signal with discontinuous bands is presented. A novel two-dimensional signal processing scheme for this signal is proposed on the basis of delicate signal analysis. Simulation results demonstrate that the scheme could successfully realize the resolutions by decoupling the range-Doppler ambiguity, and effectively suppress the maximal sidelobe. Because of the range-angle dependency in random log frequency diverse array(RD-log-FDA) radar, a method for designing beamspace transformation matrix in angle and range based on the receive signal has been proposed.It is demonstrated that the designed beamspace transformation matrix basically meets the requirements of beam gain.However, there are some problems in the transformation matrix designed, such as unstable beam gain and high sidelobe.Hence, we propose an optimization method by adjusting array element spacing and random number in frequency offset to get the optimum beam gain.Therefore, particle swarm optimization(PSO) is used to find the optimal solution.The beam gain comparison before and after the optimization is obtained by simulation, and the results show that the optimized array after beamspace preprocessing has more stable beam gain, lower sidelobe, and higher resolution in parameter estimation.In conclusion, the RD-log-FDA is capable of forming desired beam gain in angle and distance through beamspace preprocessing, and suppressing interference signals in other areas. 展开更多

Volterra series is a powerful mathematical tool for nonlinear system analysis,and there is a wide range of nonlinear engineering systems and structures that can be represented by a Volterra series model.In the present study,the random vibration of nonlinear systems is investigated using Volterra series.Analytical expressions were derived for the calculation of the output power spectral density(PSD) and input-output cross-PSD for nonlinear systems subjected to Gaussian excitation.Based on these expressions,it was revealed that both the output PSD and the input-output crossPSD can be expressed as polynomial functions of the nonlinear characteristic parameters or the input intensity.Numerical studies were carried out to verify the theoretical analysis result and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the derived relationship.The results reached in this study are of significance to the analysis and design of the nonlinear engineering systems and structures which can be represented by a Volterra series model. 展开更多

The panel-type structures used in aerospace engineering can be subjected to severe highfrequency acoustic loadings in service. This paper evaluates the frequency-dependent random fatigue of panel-type structures made of ceramic matrix composites(CMCs) under acoustic loadings. Firstly, the high-frequency random responses from the broadband random excitation will result in more stress cycles in a deinite period of time. The probability density distributions of stress amplitudes will be different in different frequency bandwidths, though the peak stress estimations are identical. Secondly, the fatigue properties of CMCs can be highly frequency-dependent. The fatigue evaluation method for the random vibration case is adopted to evaluate the fatigue damage of a representative stiffened panel structure. The frequency effect through S-N curves on random fatigue damage is numerically veriied. Finally, a parameter is demonstrated to characterize the mean vibration frequency of a random process, and hence this parameter can further be considered as a reasonable loading frequency in the fatigue tests of CMCs to obtain more reliable S-N curves.Therefore, the inluence of vibration frequency can be incorporated in the random fatigue model from the two perspectives. 展开更多
