Laboratory scale model of DMMBF (dual mixed media biofilter) were designed and installed in AI-Mustansiriya University Environmental Hydraulic Lab. Experiments were conducted using two mixed layers through PVR column--2.2 m height and 300 mm diameter. The first mixed media filter of depth 640mm mixed of sand, rice husk and granular activated carbon. The percentage volume mix is 1:1:1. While the other mixed media of depth 740 mm, consisting of coal, crash porcelinaite, rock and granite with equally percentage volume. Fifty samples were collected during the experiments, which was spread over a period of forty two weeks. The obtained results indicate that when the flow loading raised from 0.15 L/min to 2.7 L/rain, the removal efficiency of BOD decreased 8%-11%, and the removal efficiency of COD deceased 3%-4%, while the removal efficiency of turbidity increased with the decreasing of hydraulic loading. The results showed that the removal efficiency of turbidity is more than 95% at the lower discharge (0.15 L/min). Therefore, infiltration should be conservatively designed using low loading rates. 展开更多

Ghanaian society and the world at large have shown a strong interest in the use of lampshades with evidence from hotels and residential dwellings. Table-top Lampshades direct the rays of light to make sight easier for reading whereas bedside lampshades provide romantic illumination and beautification in bedrooms. This art studio research sought to examine lampshades on Ghanaian market;their qualities, significance, shortcomings, etc. as the basis to design and produce inventive lampshades for private and public use. The study was conducted at an art studio condition using Practice-based research design method. Findings show that lampshades serve functional and aesthetic significance in public dwellings and the hospitality industry. Nonetheless, available lampshades on the Ghanaian market lack the multifunctional property as well as a local touch which arguably makes them misfit in Ghanaian context in terms of usage. The innovative results of the studio-produced lampshades revealed the possibility of creating symbolic and multifunctional lampshades which suit specific space and tradition. The study recommends the adoption of such innovative design approach in the creation of interior design and decoration artefacts for residential and public edifices. 展开更多

CO_(2)快速吞吐提高页岩油采收率现场试验

页岩油注CO_(2)吞吐提高采收率技术处于探索阶段,目前面临着CO_(2)与页岩储层及流体相互作用机制不明确、数值模拟技术不成熟、缺乏规模注采及低成本回收工艺等技术难题。为探索页岩油注CO_(2)提高采收率主控机理,以苏北盆地溱潼凹陷古... 页岩油注CO_(2)吞吐提高采收率技术处于探索阶段,目前面临着CO_(2)与页岩储层及流体相互作用机制不明确、数值模拟技术不成熟、缺乏规模注采及低成本回收工艺等技术难题。为探索页岩油注CO_(2)提高采收率主控机理,以苏北盆地溱潼凹陷古近系阜宁组二段页岩油为对象开展了超临界CO_(2)水岩反应实验,分析了高温高压条件下页岩矿物溶蚀作用及其对孔隙度和渗透率的影响,并通过注CO_(2)恒质膨胀实验、最小混相压力测试评价了地层超压条件下注CO_(2)后原油高压物性变化特征,并在此基础上开展考虑多因素数值模拟研究优化了设计注入参数,最终通过矿场试验验证了技术可行性。研究结果表明:(1) CO_(2)水岩反应以碳酸质矿物溶蚀占主导,长英质矿物部分溶解,生成中大孔隙;(2)在地层原油中注入适量的CO_(2),显著萃取了原油中间烃组分,原油黏度从5.151 mPa·s下降到1.250 mPa·s,且CO_(2)首先萃取轻烃组分,随生产时间增加萃取组分逐渐变为重烃;(3)基于人工压裂与天然缝网混合介质组分数模模型,优化设计单井吞吐注气量1.7×10~4 t,注气速度500~600 t/d,焖井时间50 d;(4)低压侧加热的页岩油CO_(2)吞吐地面工艺,可依据CO_(2)注入地面工艺多参数数据模型,实现精准控温,避免注入管线冻堵及井下油管和套管材料低温脆断问题;(5)产出气CO_(2)浓度高于80%时,采用气相回收直注工艺,实现产出气回收成本降至104元/t。结论认为,CO_(2)快速吞吐有效提高了页岩油采收率,形成的机理认识和技术系列可为页岩油注CO_(2)吞吐开发提供参考和借鉴。 展开更多

高岭土-砂土混合介质电导率预测模型适用性及误差评估

基于动量源与精细多孔介质的堆芯特征组件域CFD计算分析技术研究

堆芯计算流体力学(Computational Fluid Dynamics,CFD)对确定堆芯薄弱环节、优化特征结构、提升安全及经济性等具有重大意义。典型压水堆燃料组件存在大量带交混翼片格架,导致存在网格数量激增、网格划分困难、求解难以收敛等问题。目... 堆芯计算流体力学(Computational Fluid Dynamics,CFD)对确定堆芯薄弱环节、优化特征结构、提升安全及经济性等具有重大意义。典型压水堆燃料组件存在大量带交混翼片格架,导致存在网格数量激增、网格划分困难、求解难以收敛等问题。目前基于流固作用机理所建立的动量源模型未考虑交混翼背流侧低压区对流体的影响,预测交混翼下游域轴流分布误差较大,此外在识别交混翼片固体域、添加动量源项时较为困难。为此本文提出了一种基于精细化多孔介质和动量源的联合仿真方案来模拟5×5带交混翼片棒束通道冷却剂流动,该方案中的域识别技术可以精确定位流体域中交混翼片所在位置,并基于格架前端及交混翼片迎流与背流侧的流固作用机理,建立多孔介质和动量源模型。该方案在格架域,采用精细化多孔介质模型,提高原格架固体所在流域局部阻力系数,相较于在格架域施加动量源项,其数值稳定性更好。而在交混翼域,对动量源方案进行了优化,优化后的动量源模型考虑到了交混翼片背流侧低压区对流体的作用,其仿真交混翼下游的速度分布和传热更准确。该方案可以在网格生成的过程中无须考虑格架、交混翼片的几何特征,从而实现全结构化网格建模、CFD求解耗时短、对网格数量不敏感,鲁棒性较优。通过与实验及贴体网格仿真结果对比,验证了该方案仿真阻流、流动、交混、涡流、传热的有效性。同时仿真5×5棒束通道时可减少90%的网格数量和60%的计算耗时。此外,由于棒束通道交混翼在轴向和周向都是规则排列,因此本文开发的动量源方案通过调整坐标即可适用于更大流体域的燃料组件。 展开更多

In this work, we numerically study the laminar mixed convection of fluid flow in a vertical channel filled with porous media during the drying process. The porous medium, modeled as a vertical wall, consists of solid and nanofluid phase (Water-Al2O3 or Water-Cu), as well as a gas phase. The established model is developed based on Whitaker’s theory and resolved by our numerical code using Fortran. Results principally show the influence of various physical parameters, such as nanoparticle volume fraction, ambient temperature, and saturation on heat and mass transfer on the drying process. This study brings the effect of the presence of nanofluids in porous media. It contributes not only to our fundamental understanding of drying processes but also provides practical insights that can guide the development of more efficient and sustainable drying technologies. . 展开更多

We prove the well-posedness of the corresponding direct scattering problem by the variational method. We focus on a uniqueness result for the inverse scattering problem that is under what conditions an obstacle can be identified by the knowledge of the electric far-field pattern corresponding to all time-harmonic incident planes waves with a fixed wave number. To this end, we establish a chiral mixed reciprocity relation that connects the electric far-field pattern of a spherical wave with the scattered field of a plane wave. 展开更多

气固两相介质协同抑制瓦斯爆炸实验及分子动力学研究

针对传统单相抑爆介质效果不佳的问题,提出气固两相介质通过不同抑爆原理的协同作用,实现高效快速抑制瓦斯爆炸。研究使用NaHCO3粉体与CO_(2)气体协同抑制瓦斯爆炸的方法,选用标准20 L球形爆炸测试装置,并通过密度泛函理论对甲烷爆炸微... 针对传统单相抑爆介质效果不佳的问题,提出气固两相介质通过不同抑爆原理的协同作用,实现高效快速抑制瓦斯爆炸。研究使用NaHCO3粉体与CO_(2)气体协同抑制瓦斯爆炸的方法,选用标准20 L球形爆炸测试装置,并通过密度泛函理论对甲烷爆炸微观反应机理中各反应物、过渡态、产物进行构型优化,在此基础上进行后续计算。结果表明:体积分数为16%的CO_(2)和质量浓度为0.35 g/L的NaHCO3单相介质对瓦斯爆炸具有优良的抑制效果,但0.1 g/L粉体存在时会使最大升压速率提升17.9%;气固两相介质抑爆相较单相CO_(2)、单相NaHCO3粉体使最大爆炸压力降低,采用体积分数为8%的CO_(2)协同0.125 g/L粉体时,瓦斯爆炸最大爆炸压力降低72.42%,最大升压速率降至2.345 MPa/s,抑制效果达到最优;但当体积分数为4%的CO_(2)协同0.05 g/L粉体时会使最大爆炸升压速率上升93.68%,反应呈现出一定的加剧现象;量子化学计算表明,在气固两相介质协同抑制瓦斯爆炸的过程中,NaHCO3粉体裂解会吸收反应体系中的热量,其分解产物会与混合体系中的OH·、H·优先反应,阻碍O·的产生,将链式过程抑制在CH2O阶段,进而抑制链式反应的传递过程;NaHCO3粉体分解产生的CO_(2)与混合体系中的CO_(2)稀释了混合体系中甲烷的体积分数,减少甲烷与氧气分子之间碰撞发生的概率,对反应进程起到有效抑制作用。 展开更多

One of the major technical challenges in using carbon dioxide( CO2) as part of the cushion gas of the underground gas storage reservoir( UGSR) is the mixture of CO2and natural gas. To decrease the mixing extent and manage the migration of the mixed zone,an understanding of the mechanism of CO2and natural gas mixing and the diffusion of the mixed gas in aquifer is necessary. In this paper,a numerical model based on the three dimensional gas-water two-phase flow theory and gas diffusion theory is developed to understand this mechanism. This model is validated by the actual operational data in Dazhangtuo UGSR in Tianjin City,China.Using the validated model,the mixed characteristic of CO2and natural gas and the migration mechanism of the mixed zone in an underground porous reservoir is further studied. Particularly,the impacts of the following factors on the migration mechanism are studied: the ratio of CO2injection,the reservoir porosity and the initial operating pressure. Based on the results,the optimal CO2injection ratio and an optimal control strategy to manage the migration of the mixed zone are obtained. These results provide technical guides for using CO2as cushion gas for UGSR in real projects. 展开更多

This paper presents an overview of the recent progress of potential theory method in the analysis of mixed boundary value problems mainly stemming from three-dimensional crack or contact problems of multi-field coupled media. This method was used to derive a series of exact three dimensional solutions which should be of great theoretical significance because most of them usually cannot be derived by other methods such as the transform method and the trial-and-error method. Further, many solutions are obtained in terms of elementary functions that enable us to treat more complicated problems easily. It is pointed out here that the method is usually only applicable to media characterizing transverse isotropy, from which, however, the results for the isotropic case can be readily obtained. 展开更多

The system of ordinary differential equations governing the flow has been solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme in combination with the quasi-linearization technique. Both prescribe wall temperature and prescribed heat flux conditions are considered. Numerical results are reported for the skin friction coefficients, Nusselt number and Sherwood number. The effect of various parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are also presented here. 展开更多

Direct ethanol fuel cells have attracted attention as an alternative energy technology due to several advantages such as high theoretical energy density and abundant supply of ethanol.In spite of the advantages,commercialization of direct ethanol fuel cells is hampered by the relatively low performance caused by its slow oxidation kinetics and difficulty of complete oxidation.In this study,formate,which has relatively faster oxidation kinetics,was mixed with ethanol to compensate the latter’s sluggish kinetics.Effects of p H,concentration,scan rate,and temperature on the mixed reactants oxidation on Pd were investigated by electrochemical experiments such as potential sweep and potentiostatic methods.Furthermore,the potential of the mixed reactants as fuel was evaluated by single cell experiments.As a result,we demonstrate that mixing formate with ethanol results in enhanced power performance in a single cell system. 展开更多

This paper presents non-Darcy mixed convective flow of an incompressible and viscous fluid in a differentially heated vertical channel filled with a porous material in the presence of a temperature dependent source/sink. The analytical solution of fourth order non-linear ordinary differential equation for temperature field, which is formed by eliminating velocity field from system of governing equations in non-dimensional form, is obtained by using new modified Adomian decomposition method (NMADM) in terms of various parameters. In order to illustrate the interactive influences of governing parameters on the temperature and velocity fields, a numerical study of the analytical solution is performed with respect to three categories of transport processes i) when forced convection is dominated, ii) when forced and natural convection are equal and iii) when natural convection is dominated. Analysis of all categories has revealed that the temperature and velocity profiles are increasing function of modified Darcy number while decreasing function of Forchheimer number. 展开更多

Laminar two-dimensional unsteady mixed-convection boundary-layer flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past asymmetric wedge with variable surface temperature embedded in a porous medium saturated with a nanofluid has been studied. The employed mathematical model for the nanofluid takes into account the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis. The velocity in the potential flow is assumed to vary arbitrary with time. The non-Darcy effects including convective, boundary and inertial effects will be included in the analysis. The unsteadiness is due to the time-dependent free stream velocity. The governing boundary layer equations along with the boundary conditions are converted into dimensionless form by a non-similar transformation, and then resulting system of coupled non-linear partial differential equations are solved by perturbation solutions for small dimensionless time until the second order. Numerical solutions of the governing equations are obtained employing the implicit finite-difference scheme in combination with the quasi-linearization technique. To validating the method used, we compared our results with previous results in earlier papers on special cases of the problem and are found to be in agreement. Effects of various parameters on velocity, temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction profiles are graphically presented. 展开更多
