Since graphene is in situ formed under the catalysis of copper powder during the sintering process, the problem that graphene is easy to agglomerate and difficult to disperse uniformly in the copper matrix has been solved. The nano Cr_(3)C_(2)-particles nailed at the interface favor to improve the interface bonding. The Cu/Graphene composite possesses high electrical conductivity, hardness, and plasticity. The composite wire exhibits high electrical conductivity of 96.93% IACS, great tensile strength of 488MPa, and excellent resistance to softening. Even after annealing at 400℃ for 1 h, the tensile strength can still reach 268 MPa with a conductivity of about 99.14% IACS.The wire's temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR) is largely reduced to 0.0035/℃ due to the complex structure, which leads the wire to present low resistivity at higher temperatures. Such Cu/Graphene composite wire with excellent comprehensive performance has a good application prospect in high-power density motors.展开更多

In this study, graphene nanowalls(GNWs) are directly deposited on the surface of Al2 O3 and Si3 N4 powders using chemical vapor deposition system to realize the uniform mixing. The morphology and the initial stage of the growth process are investigated. It is found that the graphitic base layer is initially formed parallel to the powder surface and is followed by the growth of graphene nanowalls perpendicular to the surface. Moreover, the lateral length of the graphene sheet could be well controlled by tuning the growth temperature. GNWs/Al2 O3 powder is consolidated by using sparking plasma sintering method and several physical properties are measured. Owing to the addition of GNWs, the electrical conductivity of the bulk alumina is significantly increased.展开更多

The composite samples are characterized for the frequency dependence on dielectric properties, conductivity, impedance spectroscopy and electrical modulus.X-ray diffraction(XRD)representation of CCTO-BT/epoxy composite samples confirmed the presence of both CCTO and BT ceramic samples separately. The dielectric characteristics of hybrid CCTO-BT/epoxy composite samples with CCTO∶BT ratio of 40∶60, 60∶40,and 50∶50 was found relatively better than those of single ceramic filler reinforced epoxy composites. AC conductivity analysis shows improvement in the results of hybrid filler-filled CCTO-BT/epoxy composites in comparison with single filler-filled epoxy composite.50∶50 CCTO-BT/epoxy composite shows the best AC conductivity value of~ 2.2 ×10^(-5) ohm^(-1)·m^(-1) at a higher frequency of 1MHz. The impedance analysis confirms the higher insulating properties for hybrid 40∶60 and 60∶40 CCTO-BT/epoxy composites with respect to the single and other hybrid ceramic epoxy composites. The analysis suggests the hybrid CCTO-BT/epoxy composites to be adopted as a potential dielectric material for energy storage devices and other electronic applications.展开更多

文摘Graphene prepared by non-covalent modification of sulfonated poly(ether-ether-ketone)(SPG)was combined with polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)/Al to improve the PVDF/Al thermal conductivity while reducing the effect of the thermal resistance at the graphene-polymer interface. The regulation rule of SPG with different contents on the energy release of fluorine-containing system was studied. When the content of SPG is 4%,the peak pressure and rise rate of SPG/PVDF/Al composite powder during ignition reach the maximum of 4845.28 kPa and 8683.58 kPa/s.When the content of SPG is 5%,the PVDF/Al composite powder is completely coated by SPG,and the calorific value of the material reachs the maximum of 29.094 kJ/g.Through the design and micro-control of the composite powder, the calorific value of the material can be effectively improved, but the improvement of the mass release rate still depends on the graphene content and surface modification state.

文摘High-performance Cu/Graphene composite wire synergistically strengthened by nano Cr_(3)C_(2) phase was directly synthesized via hot press sintering followed by severe cold plastic deformation, using liquid paraffin and CuCr alloy powder as the raw materials. Such Cu/Graphene composite wire with excellent comprehensive performance has a good application prospect in high-power density motors.

文摘Reduced graphene oxide(rGO)enhanced B_(4)C ceramics was prepared by SPS sintering, the enhancement effect of rGO on the microstructure and mechanical properties of composites was studied through experiments and numerical simulation. The results show that the composite with 2wt%rGO has the best comprehensive mechanical properties.Compared with pure boron carbide, vickers hardness and bending strength are increased by 4.8%and 21.96%,respectively.The fracture toughness is improved by 25.71%.The microstructure observation shows that the improvement of mechanical properties is mainly attributed to the pullout and bridge mechanism of rGO and the crack deflection.Based on the cohesive force finite element method, the dynamic crack growth process of composites was simulated. The energy dissipation of B_(4)C/rGO multiphase ceramics during crack propagation was calculated and compared with that of pure boron carbide ceramics. The results show that the fracture energy dissipation can be effectively increased by adding graphene.

文摘Uniform mixing of ceramic powder and graphene is of great importance for producing ceramic matrix composite. Owing to the addition of GNWs, the electrical conductivity of the bulk alumina is significantly increased.

文摘The two-parameter Weibull model is used to describe the fiber strength distribution. The stress carried by the intact and fracture fibers on the matrix crack plane during unloading/reloading is determined based on the global load sharing criterion. The axial stress distribution of intact fibers upon unloading and reloading is determined based on the mechanisms of fiber sliding relative to matrix in the interface debonded region. The interface debonded length, unloading interface counter slip length, and reloading interface new slip length are obtained by the fracture mechanics approach. The hysteresis loops corresponding to different stresses considering fiber failure are compared with the cases without considering fiber failure. The effects of fiber characteristic strength and fiber Weibull modulus on the fiber failure, the shape, and the area of the hysteresis loops are analyzed. The predicted quasi-static unloading/reloading hysteresis loops agree well with experimental data.
文摘In the current study, the calcium copper titanate(CCTO)/epoxy,barium titanate(BT)/epoxy and CCTO-BT/epoxy composite samples with variable volume fractions of CCTO and BT are fabricated using hand lay-up and compression moulding process. The analysis suggests the hybrid CCTO-BT/epoxy composites to be adopted as a potential dielectric material for energy storage devices and other electronic applications.
文摘Due to its great strength, hardness, and chemical resistance, epoxy adhesives are becoming more and more used. They continue to have drawbacks, nevertheless, such as poor thermal stability, and poor electrical conductivity. Because of these characteristics, graphene has been thoroughly researched for its prospective uses in a variety of industries, including electronics, energy storage, and biomedical engineering. The use of graphene as an additive in epoxy adhesives to enhance the characteristics of such materials is one of its promising uses. This paper reviewed the latest findings about graphene’s effects on epoxy adhesives. The various methods to produce graphene-epoxy composites and their improvements are discussed. This research additionally discusses the challenges associated with the production and processing of graphene-epoxy composites, as well as the mechanisms behind the improvements in mechanical, electrical, and thermal characteristics. The final section of this review discusses the challenges and prospective uses of graphene in epoxy adhesives in the future.
文摘The mechanical and tribological properties of hot-pressed copper-based composites containing different amounts of graphene nanosheets(GNSs) are compared with those of copper-graphite(Gr) composites fabricated by the same method. The results show that the Cu-GNSs composites exhibit higher relative density, microhardness and bending strength compared with Cu-Gr composites with the same volume fraction of GNSs and Gr.Moreover, the friction coefficients and wear rates reduce significantly by the addition of GNSs,whereas the limited impact on reducing friction and wear is found on graphite. The abrasive and delamination wear are the dominant wear mechanisms of the composites. It is believed that the superior mechanical and tribological performances of Cu-GNSs composites are attributed to the unique strengthening effect as well as the higher lubricating efficiency of graphene nanosheets compared with those of graphite, which demonstrates that GNS is an ideal filler for copper matrix composites, acting as not only an impactful lubricant but also a favorable reinforcement.

文摘SiC composite ceramics for solar absorber and storage integration are new concentrating solar power materials.SiC composite ceramics for solar absorber and storage integration were fabricated using SiC,black corundum and kaolin as the raw materials,Co_(2)O_(3)as the additive via pressureless graphite-buried sintering method in this study.Influences of Co_(2)O_(3)on the microstructure and properties of SiC composite ceramics for solar absorber and storage integration were studied. The results indicate that sample D2(5wt%Co_(2)O_(3))sintered at 1480℃exhibits optimal performances for 119.91 MPa bending strength,93%solar absorption,981.5 kJ/kg(25-800℃)thermal storage density. The weight gain ratio is 12.58 mg/cm2after 100 h oxidation at 1000℃.The Co_(2)O_(3)can decrease the liquid phase formation temperature and reduce the viscosity of liquid phase during sintering. The liquid with low viscosity not only promotes the elimination of pores to achieve densification, but also increases bending strength, solar absorption, thermal storage density and oxidation resistance.A dense SiO_(2) layer was formed on the surface of SiC after 100 h oxidation at 1000℃,which protects the sample from further oxidation. However, excessive Co_(2)O_(3)will make the microstructure loose, which is disadvantageous to the performances of samples.

文摘To study the influence of rolling on the interfaces and mechanical performance of graphene-reinforced Al-matrix composites,a rolling method was used to process them.Using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy, and tensile testing, this study analyzed the micromorphology, interfaces, and mechanical performance of the composites before and after rolling. The experimental results demonstrates that the composites after hot rolling has uniform structures with strong interfacial bonding. With an increase in rolling temperature, the tensile strength and elastic modulus of the composites gradually increase. However, when the rolling temperature is higher than 500°C,granular and rod-like Al4C3 phases are observed at the interfaces and the mechanical performance of the composites is degraded. When the rolling temperature is 480°C,the composites show the optimal comprehensive mechanical performance, with a tensile strength and elastic modulus of 403.3 MPa and 77.6 GPa,respectively, which represent increases of 31.6%and 36.9%,respectively,compared with the corresponding values prior to rolling.

文摘Graphene-reinforced aluminum (AI) matrix composites were successfully prepared via solution mixing and powder metallurgy in this study. The mechanical properties of the composites were studied using microhardness and tensile tests. Compared to the pure Al alloy, the graphene/Al composites showed increased strength and hardness. A tensile strength of 255 MPa was achieved for the graphene/Al com- posite with only 0.3wt% graphene, which has a 25% increase over the tensile strength of the pure Al matrix. Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy were used to investigate the morphol- ogies, chemical compositions, and microstructures of the graphene and the graphene/A1 composites. On the basis of fractographic evidence, a relevant fracture mechanism is proposed.
