AISI 316L stainless steel sheets were used to develop double wall angle pyramid with aid of tungsten carbide tool. GRA coupled with PCA was used to plan the experiment conditions. Control factors such as Tool Diameter(TD), Step Depth(SD), Bottom Wall Angle(BWA), Feed Rate(FR) and Spindle Speed(SS) on Top Wall Angle(TWA) and Top Wall Angle Surface Roughness(TWASR) have been studied. Wall angle increases with increasing tool diameter due to large contact area between tool and workpiece. As the step depth, feed rate and spindle speed increase,TWASR decreases with increasing tool diameter. As the step depth increasing, the hydrostatic stress is raised causing severe cracks in the deformed surface. Hence it was concluded that the proposed hybrid method was suitable for optimizing the factors and response.展开更多

First, the limitations of several existing single-valued neutrosophic weighted averaging aggregation operators (i.e. , the single-valued neutrosophic weighted averaging, single-valued neutrosophic weighted algebraic averaging, single-valued neutrosophic weighted Einstein averaging, single-valued neutrosophic Frank weighted averaging, and single-valued neutrosophic Hamacher weighted averaging operators), which can produce some indeterminate terms in the aggregation process, are discussed. Second, an ISNHWA operator was developed to overcome the limitations of existing operators. Third, the properties of the proposed operator, including idempotency, boundedness, monotonicity, and commutativity, were analyzed. Application examples confirmed that the ISNHWA operator and the proposed MCGDM method are rational and effective. The proposed improved ISNHWA operator and MCGDM method can overcome the indeterminate results in some special cases in existing single-valued neutrosophic weighted averaging aggregation operators and MCGDM methods.展开更多

Generally, it means selecting the optimal weapon system among many alternatives, which is a multiple- attribute decision making (MADM) problem. This paper proposes a new mathematical model based on the response surface method (RSM) and the grey relational analysis (GRA). RSM is used to obtain the experimental points and analyze the factors that have a significant impact on the selection results. GRA is used to an- alyze the trend relationship between alternatives and reference series. Optimization of green sand process parameters plays a vital role in minimizing casting defects. In the present research work, the effect of process parameters such as AFS grain fineness number, water, molasses, bentonite, fly ash, and ramming, and their levels on the resultant mould properties were investigated and optimized using Taguchi based grey relational analysis. The Taguchi L18 orthogonal array and analysis of variance(ANOVA) were used. The quality characteristics viz., green compression strength, permeability, bulk density, mould hardness and shatter index of green sand mould were optimized using grey relational grade, based on the experiments designed using Taguchi's Design of Experiments. ANOVA analysis indicated that water content is the most influential parameter followed by bentonite, and degree of ramming that contributes to the quality characteristics. The results are confirmed by calculating confidence intervals, which lies within the interval limits. Finally, microstructure observations and X-ray diffraction analysis have been performed for the optimal sand parametric combination. Results show that presence of maximum amount of SiO_2, which might be the reason for enhancement of the physical properties of the sand.展开更多

For the initial model, a physical test was performed to verify the model. Then, a parametric model using mesh morphing technology is used to optimize and decrease the maximum collision force (MCF) and increase specific energy absorption (SEA) while ensure mass is not increased. Because MCF and SEA are two conflicting objectives, grey relational analysis (GRA) and principal component analysis (PCA) are employed for design optimization of the crash box. Furthermore, multi-objective analysis can convert to a single objective using the grey relational grade (GRG) simultaneously, hence, the proposed method can obtain the optimal combination of design parameters for the crash box. It can be concluded that the proposed method decreases the MCF and weight to 16.7% and 29.4% respectively, while increasing SEA to 16.4%. Meanwhile, the proposed method in comparison to the conventional NSGA-Ⅱ method, reduces the time cost by 103%. Hence, the proposed method can be properly applied to the optimization of the crash box.展开更多

Three control factors, involving reduction ratio, lubricant temperature, and drawing speed, were investigated utilizing L9(34) orthogonal array (OA). The grey relational analysis was conducted for the normalized signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios. The ordinal value of the grey grade was then used to decide optimal factor levels. The anticipated improvements in die life and wire tensile strength were estimated 25.31 h and 22.50 kg/mm2, respectively. To decide the significant factor which had effect on each QCH and predict the average value of each QCH, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed for S/N ratio and QCH. Confirmation experiments were then conducted, where a good overlap was noticed between the predicted and confirnation intervals for each QCH. The Hotelling T2 and the sample generalized variance control charts were finally utilized in controlling and monitoring future production. In conclusion, the grey relational analysis utilizing Taguchi method is an effective approach for optimizing the die life and wire tensile strength for SUS wire drawing process. 2008 University of Science and Technology Beijing. To accomplish this, a new grey incidence model, called the grey dynamic incidence model GDIM(t), is constructed for determining whether the factors are effective to the known factor and what the time lag is between a useful factor and the specified sequence. Based on the results of the GDIM(t) model, two programming problems are designed to obtain the upper and lower bounds of the unknown or abnormal values which are regarded as grey numbers. The solutions based on the particle swarm optimization(PSO) for the nonlinear programming problems are given. To explain how it can be used in practice, this new grey interpolation approach is applied to correct an abnormal value in the sequence of an agriculture environment problem.展开更多

文摘The effects of marine environmental factors-temperature(T),dissolved oxygen(DO),salinity(S) and pH-on the oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) of natural seawater were studied in laboratory. The results show an indistinct relationship between these four factors and the ORP,but they did impact the ORP.Common mathematical methods were not applicable for describing the relationship. Therefore,a grey relational analysis(GRA) method was developed. The degrees of correlation were calculated according to GRA and the values of T,pH,DO and S were 0.744,0.710,0.692 and 0.690,respectively.From these values, the relations of these factors to the ORP could be described and evaluated, and those of T and pH were relatively major. In general,ORP is influenced by the synergic effect of T,DO,pH and S,with no single factor having an outstanding role.
文摘In the stainless steel 304 (SUS 304) wire drawing process, optimizing the die life and wire tensile strength, which are the larger-the-better quality characteristics (QCH) types, is of main interest. 文摘The grey relational analysis( GRA) was used to evaluate the 10 sugarcane lines by 13 main agronomic characters. The result showed that the grey correlation degree of self-cultivated lines GNY08- 320(0. 7502),GNY08- 336(0. 7409),GNY08- 186(0. 7369),and GNY08- 225(0. 7277) were higher than ROC22(CK),so the 4 lines can be further tested, and the others were worse than CK that should be further observed or eliminated.

文摘Given a non-equidistant sequence or an equidistant series with one or more outliers, a grey interpolation approach considering the time lags is established for producing the missing data or correcting the abnormal values. To explain how it can be used in practice, this new grey interpolation approach is applied to correct an abnormal value in the sequence of an agriculture environment problem.

文摘The influence of particle migration induced by groundwater source heat pump( GWSHP) operation on aquifer parameters was theoretically analyzed. Then the sensitivity analysis of different influencing factors, which influenced aquifer parameters with GWSHP operation, was evaluated by using grey relational analysis method through a case study. The present study indicated that the erosion parameter, hydraulic conductivity and initial concentration were critical influencing factors which affected the aquifer parameters and the suitability of GWSHP. It also indicated that the discharge of single well should be controlled and the diameter of single well should be selected appropriately in order to decrease particle migration.
文摘In this investigation, optimization of tribological performance parameters of Al-6061T6 alloy reinforced with SiC (15% by weight) and Al2O3 (15% by weight) particulates having particle size of 37 μm each has been presented. The wear and frictional properties of the hybrid metal matrix composites have been studied by performing dry sliding wear test using pin-on-disc wear tester. A L27 orthogonal array is selected for the analysis of the data. From the test results it is observed that sliding distance has the significant contribution in controlling the friction and wear behaviour of hybrid composites. A confirmation test is also carried out to verify the accuracy of the results obtained through the optimization. In addition an optical micrograph test is also performed on the wear tracks to study the wear mechanism.
