Machine learning is currently one of the research hotspots in the field of landslide prediction.To clarify and evaluate the differences in characteristics and prediction effects of different machine learning models,Co...Machine learning is currently one of the research hotspots in the field of landslide prediction.To clarify and evaluate the differences in characteristics and prediction effects of different machine learning models,Conghua District,which is the most prone to landslide disasters in Guangzhou,was selected for landslide susceptibility evaluation.The evaluation factors were selected by using correlation analysis and variance expansion factor method.Applying four machine learning methods namely Logistic Regression(LR),Random Forest(RF),Support Vector Machines(SVM),and Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGB),landslide models were constructed.Comparative analysis and evaluation of the model were conducted through statistical indices and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.The results showed that LR,RF,SVM,and XGB models have good predictive performance for landslide susceptibility,with the area under curve(AUC)values of 0.752,0.965,0.996,and 0.998,respectively.XGB model had the highest predictive ability,followed by RF model,SVM model,and LR model.The frequency ratio(FR)accuracy of LR,RF,SVM,and XGB models was 0.775,0.842,0.759,and 0.822,respectively.RF and XGB models were superior to LR and SVM models,indicating that the integrated algorithm has better predictive ability than a single classification algorithm in regional landslide classification problems.展开更多
Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that can lead to blindness if left untreated.Early detection is crucial to prevent vision loss,but current manual scanning methods are expensive,time-consuming,and require special...Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that can lead to blindness if left untreated.Early detection is crucial to prevent vision loss,but current manual scanning methods are expensive,time-consuming,and require specialized expertise.This study presents a novel approach to Glaucoma detection using the Enhanced Grey Wolf Optimized Support Vector Machine(EGWO-SVM)method.The proposed method involves preprocessing steps such as removing image noise using the adaptive median filter(AMF)and feature extraction using the previously processed speeded-up robust feature(SURF),histogram of oriented gradients(HOG),and Global features.The enhanced Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)technique is then employed with SVM for classification.To evaluate the proposed method,we used the online retinal images for glaucoma analysis(ORIGA)database,and it achieved high accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity rates of 94%,92%,and 92%,respectively.The results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other current algorithms in detecting the presence or absence of Glaucoma.This study provides a novel and effective approach to Glaucoma detection that can potentially improve the detection process and outcomes.展开更多

The prediction-based method is used to determine the embedding dimension of the traffic data. Based on the reconstructed phase space, the local support vector machine prediction method is used to predict the traffic measurement data, and the BIC-based neighbouring point selection method is used to choose the number of the nearest neighbouring points for the local support vector machine regression model. The experimental results show that the local support vector machine prediction method whose neighbouring points are optimized can effectively predict the small-time scale traffic measurement data and can reproduce the statistical features of real traffic measurements.展开更多

The effect of the controller was demonstrated on a recognized benchmark problem and a continuous-stirred tank reactor. The simulation results show that the multi-step-ahead predictive controller can be well applied to nonlinear system, with better performance in following reference trajectory and disturbance-rejection.展开更多

The proposed method learns from the most informative objects which are marked by the user, and then creates a boundary separating the relevant models from irrelevant ones. What it needs is only a small number of 3D models labelled by the user. It can grasp the user's semantic knowledge rapidly and accurately. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the retrieval effectiveness. Compared with four state-of-the-art query refinement schemes for 3D model retrieval, it provides superior retrieval performance after no more than two rounds of relevance feedback.展开更多

This paper presents a novel approach to classify the different patterns of PQ combined disturbances. The classification system consists of two parts, namely the feature extraction and the automatic recognition. In the feature extraction stage, Phase Space Reconstruction (PSR), a time series analysis tool, is utilized to construct disturbance signal trajectories. For these trajectories, several indices are proposed to form the feature vectors. Support Vector Machines (SVMs) are then implemented to recognize the different patterns and to evaluate the efficiencies. The types of disturbances discussed include a combination of short-term dis-turbances (voltage sags, swells) and long-term disturbances (flickers, harmonics), as well as their homologous single ones. The feasibilities of the proposed approach are verified by simulation with thousands of PQ events. This approach is built on the merit of HMM and SVM. Then, the experiment is made in the transmission system of a helicopter. With the features extracted from vibration signals in gearbox, this HMM-SVM based diagnostic approach is trained and used to monitor and diagnose the gearbox's faults. In this paper, SVM wa...Objective: Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine-learning method, based on the principle of structural risk minimization, which performs well when applied to data outside the training set. In this paper, SVM was applied to predict 5-year survival status of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after treatment, we expect to find a new way for prognosis studies in cancer so as to assist right clinical decision for individual patient. Methods: Two modelling methods were used in the study; SVM network and a standard parametric logistic regression were used to model 5-year survival status. And the two methods were compared on a prospective set of patients not used in model construction via receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results: The SVM1, trained with the 25 original input variables without screening, yielded a ROC area of 0.868, at sensitivity to mortality of 79.2% and the specificity of 94.5%. Similarly, the SVM2, trained with 9 input variables which were obtained by optimal input variable selection from the 25 original variables by logistic regression screening, yielded a ROC area of 0.874, at a sensitivity to mortality of 79.2% and the specificity of 95.6%, while the logistic regression yielded a ROC area of 0.751 at a sensitivity to mortality of 66.7% and gave a specificity of 83.5%. Conclusion: SVM found a strong pattern in the database predictive of 5-year survival status. The logistic regression produces somewhat similar, but better, results. These results show that the SVM models have the potential to predict individual patient's 5-year survival status after treatment, and to assist the clinicians for making a good clinical decision.展开更多
With the development of automation and informatization in the steelmaking industry,the human brain gradually fails to cope with an increasing amount of data generated during the steelmaking process.Machine learning te...With the development of automation and informatization in the steelmaking industry,the human brain gradually fails to cope with an increasing amount of data generated during the steelmaking process.Machine learning technology provides a new method other than production experience and metallurgical principles in dealing with large amounts of data.The application of machine learning in the steelmaking process has become a research hotspot in recent years.This paper provides an overview of the applications of machine learning in the steelmaking process modeling involving hot metal pretreatment,primary steelmaking,secondary refining,and some other aspects.The three most frequently used machine learning algorithms in steelmaking process modeling are the artificial neural network,support vector machine,and case-based reasoning,demonstrating proportions of 56%,14%,and 10%,respectively.Collected data in the steelmaking plants are frequently faulty.Thus,data processing,especially data cleaning,is crucially important to the performance of machine learning models.The detection of variable importance can be used to optimize the process parameters and guide production.Machine learning is used in hot metal pretreatment modeling mainly for endpoint S content prediction.The predictions of the endpoints of element compositions and the process parameters are widely investigated in primary steelmaking.Machine learning is used in secondary refining modeling mainly for ladle furnaces,Ruhrstahl–Heraeus,vacuum degassing,argon oxygen decarburization,and vacuum oxygen decarburization processes.Further development of machine learning in the steelmaking process modeling can be realized through additional efforts in the construction of the data platform,the industrial transformation of the research achievements to the practical steelmaking process,and the improvement of the universality of the machine learning models.展开更多

The soft sensor technology is widely used for the prediction of endpoint parameters. Based on the analysis of the smelting process of EAF and the advantages of support vector machines, a soft sensor model for predicting the endpoint parameters was built using multiple support vector machines (MSVM). In this model, the input space was divided by subtractive clustering and a sub-model based on LS-SVM was built in each sub-space. To decrease the correlation among the sub-models and to improve the accuracy and robustness of the model, the sub- models were combined by Principal Components Regression. The accuracy of the soft sensor model is perfectly improved. The simulation result demonstrates the practicability and efficiency of the MSVM model for the endpoint prediction of EAF.展开更多

By applying the proposed approach to a pH neutralization titration experiment, F -SVMs MM not only provides satisfactory approximation and generalization property, but also achieves superior performance to USOCPN multiple modeling method and single modeling method based on standard SVMs.

文摘Aiming at solving the problems of machine-learning in fault diagnosis, a diagnosis approach is proposed based on hidden Markov model (HMM) and support vector machine (SVM). HMM usually describes intra-class measure well and is good at dealing with continuous dynamic signals. SVM expresses inter-class difference effectively and has perfect classify ability. This approach is built on the merit of HMM and SVM. Then, the experiment is made in the transmission system of a helicopter. With the features extracted from vibration signals in gearbox, this HMM-SVM based diagnostic approach is trained and used to monitor and diagnose the gearbox's faults. The result shows that this method is better than HMM-based and SVM-based diagnosing methods in higher diagnostic accuracy with small training samples.

文摘This paper proposes a novel excitation controller using support vector machines (SVM) and approximate models. The nonlinear control law is derived directly based on an input-output approximation method via Taylor expansion, which not only avoids complex control development and intensive computation, but also avoids online learning or adjustment. Only a general SVM modelling technique is involved in both model identification and controller implementation. The robustness of the stability is rigorously established using the Lyapunov method. Several simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed excitation controller.

文摘This paper presents a nonlinear model predictive control(NMPC) approach based on support vector machine(SVM) and genetic algorithm(GA) for multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) nonlinear systems.Individual SVM is used to approximate each output of the controlled plant Then the model is used in MPC control scheme to predict the outputs of the controlled plant.The optimal control sequence is calculated using GA with elite preserve strategy.Simulation results of a typical MIMO nonlinear system show that this method has a good ability of set points tracking and disturbance rejection.

文摘In this paper, a support vector machine-based multi-model predictive control is proposed, in which SVM classification combines well with SVM regression. At first, each working environment is modeled by SVM regression and the support vector machine network-based model predictive control (SVMN-MPC) algorithm corresponding to each environment is developed, and then a multi-class SVM model is established to recognize multiple operating conditions. As for control, the current environment is identified by the multi-class SVM model and then the corresponding SVMN-MPC controller is activated at each sampling instant. The proposed modeling, switching and controller design is demonstrated in simulation results.

文摘Various methods of tyre modelling are implemented from pure theoretical to empirical or semi-empirical models based on experimental results. A new way of representing tyre data obtained from measurements is presented via support vector machines (SVMs). The feasibility of applying SVMs to steady-state tyre modelling is investigated by comparison with three-layer backpropagation (BP) neural network at pure slip and combined slip. The results indicate SVMs outperform the BP neural network in modelling the tyre characteristics with better generalization performance. The SVMsqyre is implemented in 8-DOF vehicle model for vehicle dynamics simulation by means of the PAC 2002 Magic Formula as reference. The SVMs-tyre can be a competitive and accurate method to model a tyre for vehicle dynamics simuLation.
文摘This paper presents a novel evaluation model of the customer satisfaction degree (CSD) in logistics based on support vector machine (SVM). Firstly, the relation between the suppliers and the customers is analyzed. Seondly, the evaluation index system and fuzzy quantitative methods are provided. Thirdly, the CSD evaluation system including eight indexes and three ranks based on one-against-one mode of SVM is built, last simulation experint is presented to illustrate the theoretical results.
文摘Objective: Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine-learning method, based on the principle of structural risk minimization, which performs well when applied to data outside the training set. In this paper, SVM was applied to predict 5-year survival status of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after treatment, we expect to find a new way for prognosis studies in cancer so as to assist right clinical decision for individual patient. Methods: Two modelling methods were used in the study; SVM network and a standard parametric logistic regression were used to model 5-year survival status. And the two methods were compared on a prospective set of patients not used in model construction via receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results: The SVM1, trained with the 25 original input variables without screening, yielded a ROC area of 0.868, at sensitivity to mortality of 79.2% and the specificity of 94.5%. Similarly, the SVM2, trained with 9 input variables which were obtained by optimal input variable selection from the 25 original variables by logistic regression screening, yielded a ROC area of 0.874, at a sensitivity to mortality of 79.2% and the specificity of 95.6%, while the logistic regression yielded a ROC area of 0.751 at a sensitivity to mortality of 66.7% and gave a specificity of 83.5%. Conclusion: SVM found a strong pattern in the database predictive of 5-year survival status. The logistic regression produces somewhat similar, but better, results. These results show that the SVM models have the potential to predict individual patient's 5-year survival status after treatment, and to assist the clinicians for making a good clinical decision.

文摘With the development of automation and informatization in the steelmaking industry,the human brain gradually fails to cope with an increasing amount of data generated during the steelmaking process.Machine learning technology provides a new method other than production experience and metallurgical principles in dealing with large amounts of data.The application of machine learning in the steelmaking process has become a research hotspot in recent years.This paper provides an overview of the applications of machine learning in the steelmaking process modeling involving hot metal pretreatment,primary steelmaking,secondary refining,and some other aspects.The three most frequently used machine learning algorithms in steelmaking process modeling are the artificial neural network,support vector machine,and case-based reasoning,demonstrating proportions of 56%,14%,and 10%,respectively.Collected data in the steelmaking plants are frequently faulty.Thus,data processing,especially data cleaning,is crucially important to the performance of machine learning models.The detection of variable importance can be used to optimize the process parameters and guide production.Machine learning is used in hot metal pretreatment modeling mainly for endpoint S content prediction.The predictions of the endpoints of element compositions and the process parameters are widely investigated in primary steelmaking.Machine learning is used in secondary refining modeling mainly for ladle furnaces,Ruhrstahl–Heraeus,vacuum degassing,argon oxygen decarburization,and vacuum oxygen decarburization processes.Further development of machine learning in the steelmaking process modeling can be realized through additional efforts in the construction of the data platform,the industrial transformation of the research achievements to the practical steelmaking process,and the improvement of the universality of the machine learning models.

文摘The endpoint parameters are very important to the process of EAF steel-making, but their on-line measurement is difficult. The soft sensor technology is widely used for the prediction of endpoint parameters. Based on the analysis of the smelting process of EAF and the advantages of support vector machines, a soft sensor model for predicting the endpoint parameters was built using multiple support vector machines (MSVM). In this model, the input space was divided by subtractive clustering and a sub-model based on LS-SVM was built in each sub-space. To decrease the correlation among the sub-models and to improve the accuracy and robustness of the model, the sub- models were combined by Principal Components Regression. The accuracy of the soft sensor model is perfectly improved. The simulation result demonstrates the practicability and efficiency of the MSVM model for the endpoint prediction of EAF.
