We computed a group velocity dispersion of Love surface wave and obtained lithosphere structure by using the method of the matchedfilter frequencytime analysis and grid dispersion inversion. Our result shows that crust structure below Antarctic Peninsula may be divided into three layers and their thickness are respectively 5 km,8 km and 10 km. Upper mantle velocity is 5.32 km/s and gradually changes into 5.11 4.9 km/s below 53 km.The mininum velocity is 4.8 km/s. It can be referred that Antarctic mantle is also of layered structure.展开更多

Through a combination of geostatistical analysis, geophysical inversion and visualization techniques,it is possible to re-model and visualize the single dimension resistivity data into 2D and 3D space. The variogram models are utilized to extend the interpretation of the data and to distinguish individual lithologic units and the occurrence of saline water within the subsurface. The resistivity data has been calibrated with the lithological logs taken from the available boreholes. As such the alluvial system of the Domail Plain has formed during episodes of local tectonic activity with fluvial erosion and depositionyielding coarse sediments with high electrical resistivities near to the mountain ranges and finer sediments with medium to low electrical resistivities which tend to settle in the basin center. Thus a change is depositional setting happened from basin lacustrine environment to flash flooding during the Himalayan orogeny. The occurrence of rock salt in the northern mountains has imparted a great influence on the groundwater quality of the study area. The salt is dissolved by water which infiltrates into the subsurface through the water channels. Variogram aided gridding of resistivity data helps to identify the occurrence and distribution of saline water in the subsurface.展开更多

In order to maintain the orthogonality of deformed grid, the displacement of grid points is divided into rotational and translational parts in this paper, and inverse distance weighted interpolation is used to transfer the changing location from boundary grid to the spatial grid. Moreover, the deformation of rotational part is implemented in combination with the exponential space mapping that improves the certainty and stability of quaternion interpolation. Furthermore, the new grid deformation technique named ‘‘layering blend deformation'' is built based on the basic quaternion technique, which combines the layering arithmetic with transfinite interpolation(TFI) technique. Then the proposed technique is applied in the movement of airfoil, parametric modeling, and the deformation of complex configuration, in which the robustness of grid quality is tested. The results show that the new method has the capacity to deal with the problems with large deformation, and the ‘‘layering blend deformation'' improves the efficiency and quality of the basic quaternion deformation method significantly.展开更多
