Magnetic ground state of plutonium dioxide: DFT+U calculations

The magnetic states of the strongly correlated system plutonium dioxide(PuO_(2)) are studied based on the density functional theory(DFT) plus Hubbard U(DFT +U) method with spin–orbit coupling(SOC) included. A series of typical magnetic structures including the multiple-k types are simulated and compared in the aspect of atomic structure and total energy. We test LDA, PBE, and SCAN exchange–correlation functionals on PuO_(2) and a longitudinal 3k antiferromagnetic(AFM) ground state is theoretically determined. This magnetic structure has been identified to be the most stable one by the former computational work using the hybrid functional. Our DFT +U + SOC calculations for the longitudinal 3k AFM ground state suggest a direct gap which is in good agreement with the experimental value. In addition, a genetic algorithm is employed and proved to be effective in predicting magnetic ground state of PuO2. Finally, a comparison between the results of two extensively used DFT +U approaches to this system is made. 展开更多

Magnetically coupled resonant technology is a novel method for solving the breakpoint locating of power grounding grid.But the method can only detect breakpoints of a single mesh grounding grid at present.In this paper,a magnetically coupled resonant detection method for four-hole grounding grid breakpoint is proposed.Firstly,the equivalent circuit model of the four mesh grounding grid with two types of breakpoints,namely edge branch and intermediate branch,is established.The input impedance and phase angle of the system are obtained by analyzing the equivalent capacitance and equivalent resistance in the model.Secondly,the magnetically coupled resonant physical process of grounding grid faults is solved via HFSS software.The magnetic field intensity and phase frequency characteristic curves of four mesh holes with different branches and positions of breakpoints and different corrosion degrees are studied,and an experimental system is built to verify the feasibility.The results show that under the condition of grounding grid buried depth of 0.5 m and input frequency of 1~15MHz,and there is an inverse relationship between equivalent capacitance and distortion frequency,the phase angle is positively correlated with the degree of corrosion of grounding grid,and the error of signal distortion frequency can be positioned at 5%.This paper provides some ideas for the application of magnetic coupling grounding grid detection technology. 展开更多

Ground Magnetic Survey for the Investigation of Iron Ore Deposit at Oke-Aro in Iseyin East, South-Western Nigeria

A ground magnetic survey was carried out to investigate the presence of iron ore at a location (Lat. 7.99883°N to Lat. 7.99933°N, Long. 3.57900°E to Long. 3.57990°E) in Iseyin, Oyo State, South-western Nigeria. Ten magnetic traverses each 100 m long at a separation of 5 m were run West-East. Magnetic intensity was taken at intervals of 10 m along each traverse line using the proton precession magnetometer (G-856 AX). The measured magnetic field data were corrected for drift and were presented as profiles. The profiles were interpreted by calculating the depth to the top of anomalies. The data obtained were used to construct magnetic anomaly maps in 2D and 3D. The magnetic survey results delineated this location into some high and low magnetic field intensity regions. The regions of high magnetic field anomaly indicated the presence of materials with high susceptibility which was suspected to be iron compounds. The quantitative and qualitative analyses on interpretations of field data collected were given, while these results provided values for the total component measurements of ground magnetic anomaly that widely ranged between a maximum positive peak result of 8 nT and to a minimum negative peak result of —6 nT. Using Peter’s half slope technique, depth to the basement was assessed, which actually provided a maximum depth to basement of 6.25 m. From the knowledge of the geology of the area and also, the magnetic survey employed information, therefore, we can finally conclude that, the study area is under laid by geologic structures which favour the accumulation of iron-ore minerals deposit at Oke-Aro area in Iseyin. 展开更多

Ground Magnetic, GPR, and Dipole-Dipole Resistivity for Landfill Investigation

Ground magnetic, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and dipole-dipole resistivity were carried out to environmentally investigate a landfill. In this context, these geophysical techniques were conducted to identify the subsurface contents of the landfill, furthermore, specify any possible leakage and/or contamination in the study area. The ground-magnetic survey carried out in the study area comprised 31 profiles each 120 m in length. Different wavelength filters were applied to the measured data. Vertical derivative, downward continuation, apparent susceptibility, band-pass, and analytical signal filters separated successfully the shallow sources. Whereas, upward continuation and low-pass Gaussian filters isolated significantly the deep magnetic sources. 3D Euler deconvolution (SI = 3) remarkably estimated the depths of the shallow sources (0 - 10 m) of the landfill contents. The conducted GPR and dipole-dipole resistivity allocated tangibly the locations and depths of the near surface anomalies. Both techniques didn’t reveal any possible leakage and/or contamination. Noteworthy, integration among magnetic, GPR, and dipole-dipole resistivity confirmed positively the results of each method. The study area is located in the south margin of the North China Block, the south end of the juncture between the Ordos Block and the Hehuai Block, which is part of Fen-Wei Graben System and located in the south of Shanxi Cenozoic fault basin in the central part of the North China Craton. The study area has complex regional geological structure, intense tectonic movement and frequent magmatic activities. Based on the latest high-precision aeromagnetic data, integrated interpretation was completed, combining with the existing geological and geophysical research results. According to the block features in different zones of the RTP aeromagnetic data, this article thoroughly studied the characteristics of aeromagnetic anomalies and found the relationship between aeromagnetic anomalies and surface geological information, and the fault distribution, magmatic rock distribution and magnetic characteristics in this area are discussed. 展开更多

The results are in good agreement with the experimental data for the spin-1 compounds [Ni2 (Medpt)2 (μ- ox)(H2O)2](ClO4)22H2O, [Ni2(Medpt)2(μ-ox)(μ-N3)](ClO4)0.5H2O, Ni(C2H8N2)Ni(CN)4 and Ni(C10H8N2)2 Ni(CN)4·H2O. 展开更多

We study the two-dimensional weak-coupling Frohlich polaron in a completely anisotropic quantum dot in a perpendicular magnetic field. By performing a unitary transformation, we first transform the Hamiltonian into a new one which describes an anisotropic harmonic oscillator with new mass and trapping frequencies interacting with the same phonon bath but with different interaction form and strength. Then employing the second-order Rayleigh–Schrodinger perturbation theory, we obtain the polaron correction to the ground-state energy. The magnetic field and anisotropic effects on the polaron correction to the ground-state energy are discussed. 展开更多

中低速磁浮供电轨供电过程中容易发生直流接地故障,由于其供电距离较短、接地网结构复杂,发生直流接地故障后不易准确定位故障点。为此针对以上问题,根据列车运行过程中车体与轨道无接触的特点,建立中低速磁浮牵引供电系统,分析双端故... 中低速磁浮供电轨供电过程中容易发生直流接地故障,由于其供电距离较短、接地网结构复杂,发生直流接地故障后不易准确定位故障点。为此针对以上问题,根据列车运行过程中车体与轨道无接触的特点,建立中低速磁浮牵引供电系统,分析双端故障测距与单端故障测距的优缺点,研究供电轨发生接地故障后故障行波时域分布与频域分布的关系;并通过计算式计算分析行波频谱的产生机理,得出故障行波的频率分布不受车站内阻抗、过渡电阻的影响,只与故障点位置和故障行波到达线路两端的时间相关;基于此,提出基于双端频率变化特性的中低速磁浮交通供电轨故障定位方法,根据故障行波频率特性与行波速度计算故障点位置。并且通过仿真验证,该方法不受故障点位置、过渡电阻大小影响,且适用于单处接地故障、多处接地故障类型,故障误差始终保持在1%以内,相比传统的直流牵引供电系统故障定位方法,测量精度更高,适用于中低速磁浮交通供电轨接地故障。 展开更多

为明确海上风电交流送出系统过电压的特征与水平,需考虑风电机组的故障穿越特性。该文结合永磁直驱风机变流器的控制原理,提出海上风电送出系统不对称接地过电压的解析计算方法。基于PSCAD对风电机组进行精确电磁暂态建模与故障电压穿... 为明确海上风电交流送出系统过电压的特征与水平,需考虑风电机组的故障穿越特性。该文结合永磁直驱风机变流器的控制原理,提出海上风电送出系统不对称接地过电压的解析计算方法。基于PSCAD对风电机组进行精确电磁暂态建模与故障电压穿越测试,以国内某500 kV大规模海上风电工程为背景,仿真计算送出系统不对称接地及甩负荷过电压。结果表明:系统不对称接地过电压大小与风机正负序控制策略有关;海缆电网侧甩负荷将产生持续百ms的1.3 pu以上的暂态过电压,风机过电压保护动作延时越长,暂态过电压越严重。实际海上风电工程计算需紧密联系风机控制保护策略及其参数,并综合关键设备耐压水平进行评估,通过风机控制策略优化可以降低系统过电压水平。 展开更多

中国科学技术大学无碰撞磁场重联实验平台(KRX)是以揭示无碰撞磁场重联的触发机制、对无碰撞磁场重联电子扩散区的结构及相关等离子体波动进行深入细致研究为目标而建设的大型等离子体装置,是开展空间环境基本物理过程地面实验模拟的综... 中国科学技术大学无碰撞磁场重联实验平台(KRX)是以揭示无碰撞磁场重联的触发机制、对无碰撞磁场重联电子扩散区的结构及相关等离子体波动进行深入细致研究为目标而建设的大型等离子体装置,是开展空间环境基本物理过程地面实验模拟的综合性平台.装置主体为直线位形,真空室直径3 m,由多段拼接而成,整体呈胶囊型,内部采用2 m×1 m全球最大氧化物阴极源产生均匀的背景等离子体.装置外部环绕10组导向场磁线圈,内部由上下两块平行电流板通同向脉冲电流构建重联磁场位形,脉冲电源采用“H”桥结构实现了可控的变速率重联驱动.在装置四周共开设200多个真空窗口,能够通过探针阵列及太赫兹偏振干涉仪、激光诱导荧光等先进光学诊断系统对磁场重联过程开展全域、主动、高精度的测量.该平台是最新一代磁场重联实验平台,其重联区域尺寸达到10倍离子惯性长度,伦德奎斯特数S有望达到105,为开展无碰撞磁场重联实验创造了良好条件,能够对磁场重联过程开展多尺度、全面细致的研究,是卫星观测和数值模拟研究重要补充.目前,实验平台已完成基础建设以及诊断等关键组件的研制,并在小型装置预研结果的基础上完善了针对多尺度、多磁岛合并、三维磁场重联等热点问题的研究方案. 展开更多

综合地球物理在内蒙古多伦县核桃坝地区铀矿勘查中的应用

核桃坝地区铀成矿条件优越,在该区东部已取得较好的找矿成果,西部尚未取得找矿突破。研究区铀矿化受断裂构造、破碎带控制明显,查明该区断裂构造格架和构造破碎、蚀变带的分布,推断成矿有利区,为进一步挖掘该地区的铀成矿潜力提供地球... 核桃坝地区铀成矿条件优越,在该区东部已取得较好的找矿成果,西部尚未取得找矿突破。研究区铀矿化受断裂构造、破碎带控制明显,查明该区断裂构造格架和构造破碎、蚀变带的分布,推断成矿有利区,为进一步挖掘该地区的铀成矿潜力提供地球物理资料。通过音频大地电磁测量、土壤氡测量和地面高精度磁测3种物探方法的联合应用,圈定了土壤氡异常;查明断裂F_(13)北西部断裂呈现NE向和NW向“田”字格排列,断裂F_(12)南东部断裂呈现NE向。断裂F_(13)、F_(12)夹持部位断裂呈现近SN向和NW向;推断构造蚀变、破碎带6处。结合该区铀矿化特征,构造蚀变、破碎带S1、S2、S3、S4,处于断裂交汇、夹持部位,规模较大,且周围分布多个土壤氡异常,异常幅值可达35000 Bq/m^(3),为成矿有利地段。经钻探验证,钻孔ZKH24深部发现了构造蚀变、破碎带和富厚铀矿体,后续在S2构造蚀变带内发现了多个工业铀矿孔,并发现了矿体较好的钻孔ZKH7-1,落实了铀矿产地,说明此3种物探方法联合应用在该地区铀矿找矿工作中具有较好的效果,可在该类型铀矿勘查工作中推广应用。 展开更多

The construction of modern livable cities faces challenges in karst areas,including ground collapse and engineering problems.Wuhan,with a population of 13.74×10^(6) and approximately 1161 km^(2)of soluble rocks in the urban area of 8569.15 km^(2),predominantly consists of concealed karst areas where occasional ground collapse events occur,posing significant threats to underground engineering projects.To address these challenges,a comprehensive geological survey was conducted in Wuhan,focusing on major karstrelated issues.Geophysical methods offer advantages over drilling in detecting concealed karst areas due to their efficiency,non-destructiveness,and flexibility.This paper reviewed the karst geological characteristics in Wuhan and the geophysical exploration methods for karst,selected eight effective geophysical methods for field experimentation,evaluated their suitability,and proposed method combinations for different karst scenarios.The results show that different geophysical methods have varying applicability for karst detection in Wuhan,and combining multiple methods enhances detection effectiveness.The specific recommendations for method combinations provided in this study serve as a valuable reference for karst detection in Wuhan. 展开更多
