Welding residual stress is one of the main concems for fabrication and operation of steel structures due to its potential effect on structural integrity.This paper focuses on the effect of welding residual stress on the ductile crack growth resistance of circumferentially cracked steel pipes.Two-dimensional axi-symmetry model has been used to simulate the pipe.Residual stresses were introduced into the model by using so-called eigenstrain method.The complete Gurson model has been employed to calculate the ductile crack growth resistance.Results show that residual stresses reduce the ductile crack growth resistance.However,the effect of residual stresses on ductile crack growth resistance decreases with the increase of crack growth.The effect of residual stress has also been investigated for cases with different initial void volume fraction,material hardening and crack sizes. 展开更多

The low thermal expansion characteristics of the most widely used class of materials are derived from the ferromagnetic characteristics of Ni, Fe, and Co-based austenitic matrices containing little or no Cr.Alloy developments have been aimed at improving the oxidation resistance and stress accelerated grain boundary oxygen (SAGBO) attack.INCONEL alloy 783 is an oxidation resistant, low coefficient of thermal expansion superalloy developed for gas turbine applications. Alloy 783 represents a culmination in the development, of an alloy system with very high alumtnum content that, in addition to forming γ′,causes βaluminide phase precipitation in the austenitic matrix.This type of structure can be processed to resist both SAGBO and general oxidation,while providing low thermal expansion and useful mechanical properties up to 700℃.Key aspects of the alloy's development are presented. 展开更多

[Objective]This experiment was conducted on Pseudosciaena crocea to study the effects of mannan oligosaccharides on growth and antibacterial ability. [Method]1 500 experimental fishes were divided into five groups. The control group( C) contained no mannan oligosaccharides,the treatment groups were contained 100,200,400,800 mg /kg of konjac mannan oligosaccharides in basal diet,respectively. The experiment continued 4 months. [Result]The results showed that Konjac Mannan oligosaccharides could significantly improve weight gain Pseudosciaena crocea. Compared with control group,Test 2 group intestine protease activity increased by 45. 74%,hepatopancreatic lipase activity increased by 31. 37%,amylase activity increased by 27. 16%. Comparison with the control group,the test group serum SOD activity was significantly higher than that in the control group( P 〈0. 05). Lysozyme( LZM) activity,spleen and serum test group was significantly higher than that in the control group( P 〈0.05). Pseudosciaena crocea were infected by Anguillarum,compared with control group,the survival rate is higher than that of the control group( P 〈0. 05) when the dosage of 200 mg /kg,400 mg /kg. The Pisha sandstone-coverd area is among the regions that suffer from the most severe water loss and soil erosion in China and is the main source of coarse sand for the Yellow River. This study demonstrated a new erosion control method using W-OH solution, a type of hydrophilic polyurethane, to prevent the Pisha sandstone from water erosion. We evaluated the comprehensive effects of W-OH on water erosion resistance and vegetation-growth promotion through simulated scouring tests and field demonstrations on the Ordos Plateau of China. The results of simulated scouring tests show that the water erosion resistance of W-OH treated area was excellent and the cumulative sediment yield reduction reached more than 99%. In the field demonstrations, the vegetation coverage reached approximately 95% in the consolidation-green area, and there was almost no shallow trenches on the entire slope in the treated area. In comparison, the control area experienced severe erosion with deep erosion gullies appeared on the slope and the vegetation coverage was less than 30%. This study illustrated that W-OH treatment can protect the Pisha sandstone from erosion and provide the vegetation seeds a chance to grow. Once the vegetation matured, the effects of consolidation-growth mutual promotion can efficiently and effectively improve the water erosion resistance and ecological restoration. 展开更多

To better understand the diversity of metal resistance genetic determinant from microbes that survived at metal tailings in northwest of China, a highly elevated level of heavy metal containing region, genomic analyses was conducted using genome sequence of three native metal-resistant plant growth promoting bacteria(PGPB). It shows that: Mesorhizobium amorphae CCNWGS0123 contains metal transporters from P-type ATPase, CDF(Cation Diffusion Facilitator), Hup E/Ure J and CHR(chromate ion transporter) family involved in copper, zinc, nickel as well as chromate resistance and homeostasis. Meanwhile, the putative Cop A/Cue O system is expected to mediate copper resistance in Sinorhizobium meliloti CCNWSX0020 while Znt A transporter, assisted with putative Czc D, determines zinc tolerance in Agrobacterium tumefaciens CCNWGS0286. The greenhouse experiment provides the consistent evidence of the plant growth promoting effects of these microbes on their hosts by nitrogen fixation and/or indoleacetic acid(IAA) secretion,indicating a potential in-site phytoremediation usage in the mining tailing regions of China. 展开更多

Safe growth of graphene from non-flammable gas mixtures via chemical vapor deposition

Chemical vapor deposition has emerged as the most promising technique for the growth of graphene.However, most reports of this technique use either flammable or explosive gases, which bring safety concerns and extra costs to manage risk factors. In this article, we demonstrate that continuous monolayer graphene can be synthesized via chemical vapor deposition technique on Cu foils using industrially safe gas mixtures. Important factors, including the appropriate ratio of hydrogen flow and carbon precursor,pressure, and growth time are considered to obtain graphene films. Optical measurements and electrical transport measurements indicate graphene films are with comparable quality to other reports. Such continuous large area graphene can be synthesized under non-flammable and non-explosive conditions, which opens a safe and economical method for mass production of graphene. It is thereby beneficial for integration of graphene into semiconductor electronics. 展开更多
