Simultaneous determination of chlorogenic acid and baicalin in heat-clearing and detoxicating oral liquid by NIRS

The calibration model for simultaneous deter-mination of chlorogenic acid and baicalin in heat-clearing and detoxicating oral liquid was built by partial least squares and near infrared spectroscopy, and the method of spectral pre-treatment was discussed. Building model from calibration set obtained good results, and vali-dated by prediction. According to heat-clearing and detoxicating oral liquid from 30 batches of 6 factories, the correlation coefficient of chloro-genic acid and baicalin model are 0.9993 and 0.9923, The root mean square error of cross validation (RMSECV) are 0.467 and 0.480, and the standard Error of prediction (SEP) of chloro- genic acid and baicalin are 0.356 and 0.370 re-spectively. The correlation coefficients in pre-diction set are 0.9997 and 0.9969, prediction results are accurate and reliable. This method can be applied in rapid analysis of heat- clearing and detoxicating oral liquid, and it is fit for on-line detection and has a wide application prospect.

Exploring the Treatment of Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis from the Direction of Inflammatory Vesicles with Wind-Extinguishing and Phlegm-Resolving Medicine

Atherosclerosis is a fundamental pathological change in coronary heart disease,with vulnerable plaque formation leading to decreased plaque stability and plaque rupture,and is a major cause of acute cardiovascular events.The inflammatory response is an important mechanism in the development and progression of atherosclerosis,and plaque stability is closely related to the inflammatory response.In recent years,the role of NLRP3 inflammatory vesicles,which are involved in macrophage foaminess,in the inflammatory response to atherosclerosis has received increasing attention.Chinese medicine is able to modulate inflammatory vesicles to improve atherosclerotic plaque stability,showing good promise in the prevention and treatment of atherosclerotic vulnerable plaques.Based on the role of inflammatory vesicles in atherosclerosis and the results of previous studies that wind-extinguishing and phlegm-resolving medicine can effectively modulate the inflammatory response to intervene in the treatment of atherosclerosis,this paper aims to investigate the treatment of coronary atherosclerosis by wind-extinguishing and phlegm-resolving medicine from the direction of inflammatory vesicles.

Research progress of heat-clearing and dampness-removing method to improve the inflammatory microenvironment of gout

Gout is a metabolic bone and joint disease caused by purine metabolism disorder.The disturbance of inflammatory microenvironment caused by monosodium urate(MSU)deposition is an important pathological mechanism of gout occurrence and development.In the understanding of Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the interaction of"dampness","heat"and"stasis"is the main pathogenesis of gout,and the method of clearing heat and removing dampness is the main treatment method of TCM for gout.In recent years,studies have found that heat-clearing and dampness-removing method can improve the TCM symptom score of gout patients,especially in the body tiredness,dry mouth and dry throat,short yellow urine,thirsty,etc.,which are the characteristics of dampness and heat syndrome,this may be related to the fact that the TCM heat-clearing and dampness-removing method in the treatment of gout removes the appearance of dampness and heat,improves the inflammatory microenvironment of gout and restores the normal metabolic function of human body.This paper deeply explores the specific mechanism of TCM heat-clearing and dampness-removing method to improve the inflammatory microenvironment of gout,which can provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of clinical gout.

A meta-analysis of phlegm-resolving Chinese medicine combined with risperidone for treatment of schizophrenia

Objective:The efficacy and occurrence of adverse reactions of prescriptions containing phlegm-resolving Chinese medicine combined with risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia were retrospectively studied by means of meta-analysis.Methods:A variety of different Chinese and English databases were searched from January 1,2000 to May 1,2020.Review Manager 5.3 software was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the included studies.The positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS)was used as the evaluation standard to analyze the total scores,positive scores,negative scores and general psychopathological scores,clinical efficacy and safety of prescriptions containing phlegmresolving Chinese medicine combined with risperidone of schizophrenia.The heterogeneity test and sensitivity analysis were also carried out by Review Manager 5.3,and the potential publication bias was analyzed by"funnel plot".Results:A total of 1515 patients were included in 15 studies.Compared with control group of risperidone alone,the total PANSS scale score,positive symptom score,negative symptom score and general psychopathological score of the treatment group of phlegm-resolving Chinese medicine combined with risperidone were all lower than those of the control group(P=0.01,MD=-6.35,95%CI[-11.29,-1.40]),(P=0.04,MD=-1.42,95%CI[-2.74,-0.09]),(P<0.01,MD=-2.16,95%CI[-3.41,-0.91]),and(P<0.01,MD=-3.80,95%CI[-6.37,-1.24]),the clinical efficacy of phlegm-resolving Chinese medicine combined with risperidone treatment group on schizophrenia was better than that of the control group[P<0.01,RR=1.09,95%CI(1.05-1.13)].The incidence of adverse reactions was reduced(P=0.02,RR=0.56,95%CI[0.34-0.93]).Conclusion:The combination of prescriptions containing phlegm-resolving Chinese medicine and risperidone can effectively improve the efficacy of patients with schizophrenia and reduce the occurrence of adverse drug reactions compared with risperidone alone.

Heat-Clearing Chinese Medicines in Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammation

Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation causes massive threatening diseases,such as sepsis,acute lung injury and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome.Efficient treatment to prevent inflammation is crucial in LPS-induced inflammatory diseases.Heat-clearing Chinese medicines(CMs)have been used to ameliorate LPS-induced inflammation in China for centuries.Heat-clearing CMs regulate inflammatory pathways,thereby inhibiting the release of inflammatory factors.This review aimed to introduce promising heat-clearing CMs countering LPS-induced inflammation in the last 5 years,exploring the underlying molecular mechanisms.

Application Value of Lung-Fire-Clearing,Phlegm-Resolving,and Bowels-Relaxing Decoction in Treating Lung Cancer of Phlegm-Heat Pattern

Objective:This article explores the clinical effects of lung-fire-clearing,phlegm-resolving and bowels-relaxing decoction in the treatment of lung cancer of phlegm-heat pattern.Methods:A total of 6 cases of lung cancer patients with phlegm-heat pattern were randomly selected from Inner Mongolia Baicaotang Qin's Zhong Meng Medical Hospital from March 2018 to December 2020 to conduct the study.They were divided into the reference group and the study group by using the digital table method.The patients in the reference group were treated with conventional Western medicine whereas the patients in the study group were treated with lung-fire-clearing,phlegm-resolving,and bowels-relaxing decoction to observe the curative effect.Results:There were no significant differences in the levels of the tumor markers between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).However,after treatment,the levels of cytokeratin 19 soluble fragments(CYFRA21-1),carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125),and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The effective rate and the quality of life score of the study group were higher than those of the reference group while the incidence of adverse reactions was lower than that of the reference group,P<0.05.Conclusion:Lung-fire-clearnig,phlegm-resolving,and bowels-relaxing decoction can effectively improve the symptoms of patients with lung cancer and improve their quality of life.

Saussurea plants have a long history of being used for disease prevention and control in Tibetan medicine, and the species have gradually changed along with the development of history. Saussurea is mainly effective in wind-expelling, blood circulation, spasmolysis, pain relief, heat-clearing and detoxification. Characteristics, major chemical constituents and pharmacological studies of Saussurea stella Maxim. were summarized in this review based on the utilization of Saussurea medicinal plants in Tibetan areas, with the aim to provide adequate theoretical bases and references for exploring the further medicinal value and development and utilization of S. stella .

Network pharmacology-based analysis of heat clearing and detoxifying drug JC724 on the treatment of colorectal cancer

BACKGROUND Heat-clearing and detoxifying drugs has protective effect on colorectal cancer(CRC).Given the complicated features of Traditional Chinese medicine formulas,network pharmacology is an effective approach for studying the multiple interactions between drugs and diseases.AIM To systematically explore the anticancer mechanism of heat-clearing and detoxifying drug JC724.METHODS This study obtained the active compounds and their targets in JC724 from Traditional Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology Database.In addition,the CRC targets were obtained from Drugbank,TTD,DisGeNET and GeneCards databases.We performed transcriptome analysis of differentially expressed genes in CRC treated with JC724.Venn diagram was used to screen the JC724-CRC intersection targets as candidate targets.Core targets were selected by proteinprotein interaction network and herb ingredient-target-disease network analysis.The functional and pathway of core targets were analysed by enrichment analysis.RESULTS We found 174 active ingredients and 283 compound targets from JC724.940 CRC-related targets were reserved from the four databases and 304 CRC differentially expressed genes were obtained by transcriptome analysis.We constructed the network and found that the five core ingredients were quercetin,βBeta sitosterol,wogonin,kaempferol and baicalein.The core JC724-CRC targets were CYP1A1,HMOX1,CXCL8,NQO1 and FOSL1.JC724 acts on multiple signaling pathways associated with CRC,including the Nrf2 signaling pathway,oxidative stress,and the IL-17 signaling pathway.CONCLUSION In this study,we systematically analyzed the active ingredients,core targets and main mechanisms of JC724 in the treatment of CRC.This study could bring a new perspective to the heat-clearing and detoxifying therapy of CRC.

Effect of clearing heat and detoxification method on macrophages polarization in patients with acute myocardial infarction and heat toxin syndrome after intervention

Objective:To evaluate the effect of heat-clearing and detoxifying method on the macrophages polarization in patients with acute myocardial infarction with heat toxin syndrome after intervention.Methods:Sixty patients with acute myocardial infarction and undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention with heat toxin syndrome were randomly divided into a control group and a test group with 30 cases each.The control group was given conventional treatment,and the test group was given Huanglian Jiedu Decoction,the representative of the method of clearing heat and detoxification,orally on the basis of the control group.The intervention time of both groups was 2 weeks.Comparing The Seattle Angina Pectoris Scale(SAQ)before and after treatment,creatine kinase(CK),creatine kinase MB isoenzyme(CKMB),high-sensitivity troponin I(hs-TnI),and Lipoprotein-associated phospholipaseA2(LPPLA_2)),the phenotype ratio of M1 and M2 macrophages,and observe the adverse reactions.Results:After treatment,the SAQ scores of the two groups of patients were improved,and the levels of CK,CK-MB,hs-TnI,and LP-PLA_2 decreased significantly.The scores of AS,AF,TS,and DP in the SAQ of the test group were all higher than those of the control group,and the hs-TnI and LP-PLA_2 were better than those of the control Group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).After treatment,the proportion of M1 type macrophages in the two groups of patients'macrophages decreased significantly(P<0.05 or P<0.01),the ratio of M2 type macrophages increased(P<0.05),and the M1/M2 ratio decreased.The ratio of M1/M2 in the test group of the control group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).There were no obvious adverse reactions in both groups.Conclusions:The method of clearing heat and detoxifying has a definite effect on patients with acute myocardial infarction of heat toxin syndrome after interventional operation.It can reduce myocardial damage,improve myocardial function,and reduce inflammation.And it is safe for clinical treatment without any increasing risk of bleeding or other risk of cardiovascular events.

Observation on the Therapeutic Effect of Heatclearing and Dampness-eliminating Dredging Collaterals Combined with Papaya Antirheumatic Pills on Treatment of Damp-heat Obstructive Ankylosing Spondylitis

Objective:Therapeutic effect of heatclearing and dampness-eliminating dredging collaterals combined with papaya antirheumatic pills on treatment of damp-heat obstructive ankylosing spondylitis.Methods:A total of 200 patients with ankylosing spondylitis who were treated in our hospital from January 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into 2 groups,each with 100 patients.The control group was treated with leflunomide+papaya antirheumatic pills,and the observation group was treated with self-drafted recipe of heat-clearing and dampness-eliminating,the curative effect,visual analogue score(VAS),barthel AS function index(BASFI)score,biochemical indicators and adverse reactions between the two groups were compared.Results:After 12 weeks of treatment,the efficacy of the observation group was higher than that of the control group.The pain score,BASFI score,and biochemical index were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Heat-clearing and dampnesseliminating dredging collaterals combined with papaya antirheumatic pills is effective in the treatment of damp-heat obstructive ankylosing spondylitis,which is beneficial to reduce the degree of pain and inflammation of the affected area,helps patients remain active,and improves activities of daily living.

Antipyretic Effects of Liposoluble Fractions of Viola yedoensis

Objective To clarify the antipyretic effect of the Chinese materia medica, Violae Herba （Viola yedoensis）, and its active fractions by examining the effects of V. yedoensis extracts with differing polarities on body temperature, total white blood cell （WBC） count, WBC differential count, and total serum complement of rabbits with lipopolysaccharide （LPS）-induced fever. Methods The rabbits were treated with water and ethanolic extracts of V. yedoensis, as well as petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol fractions of the ethanolic extract at low-, mid- and high- doses. The LPS was injected via the ear vein of rabbits in model and treatment groups 30 min post-gavage. Their body temperature was measured at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0 h after the LPS challenge to calculate the temperature changes and thermal response index. After the last temperature measurement, blood samples were collected to determine the blood cell counts and total serum complement （CHs0） level. Results Compared with the model group, body temperature was significantly lower in the low-dose ethanolic extract group, low- and mid-dose petroleum ether fraction groups, and all three ethyl acetate fraction groups. Serum CHs0 levels were lower in all treatment groups, except the ethanolic extract groups, than that in the model group, with no significant difference. V. yedoensis had no significant effect on the blood cells of febrile rabbits challenged with LPS for 6 h. Conclusion The antipyretic effects of V. yedoensis are strong, and its active fractions are the petroleum ether and ethyl acetate fractions of ethanolic extract.
