Methods: Clinical and laboratory data of 353 PNS children treated at our hospital from July 2014 to June 2015 were collected through the medical record management system. Height, weight, and GC usage were recorded. Follow-up assessments were conducted in August 2022 for the original group, recording height, weight, and GC usage. Height and weight were evaluated using standard deviation scores (SDS). Categorical data were analyzed using chi-square test while continuous measurement data were analyzed using t-test or rank-sum test. Linear regression was used to assess the association between two single independent variables, and logistic regression analysis was used to screen for risk factors related to growth retardation in children with PNS. Results: Among the 353 PNS children enrolled in this study, male-to-female ratio of 2.64:1 (256 males vs 97 females). A total of 119 children exhibited growth retardation, incidence rate of 33.71%. The duration of GC usage among those with growth retardation was significantly longer compared to those without it (762.81 ± 934.50 days vs 263.77 ± 420.49 days;p Conclusion: PNS children treated with GC have a high incidence of growth retardation, and a high proportion of short stature in adulthood, especially in children with growth retardation in childhood, most of them have short stature after grown up. Time of GC usage is a risk factor for growth retardation in children with PNS.展开更多

And is based on the experience of the clinician. This is what has led to this study in using Biophysical profiling of Heights, Weights, and Body mass index to find the normal hepatic span of every individual. This study was conducted at HMG Hospital Limited, Abonnema in Rivers State in affiliation with the University of Port Harcourt. Methodology: The biophysical sampling method was instituted to select respondents. At the same time, a radiological formula was used to calculate the sample size, and subjects’ weight, height and hepatic span where measured while the BMI was calculated and the data was analyzed using python programming language for data science. Results: The data obtained were subjected to descriptive statistics and the Pearson correlation coefficient. P value greater than or equal to 0.05 was taken as statistically significant. The respondents were mainly aged 30 to 63 years. Conclusion: The null hypothesis was rejected;hence this research has stated the law known as Belema’s Law of hepatic-height correlation, which states that the hepatic span of an individual is directly proportional to the height of that individual except in disease conditions affecting the liver directly or indirectly.展开更多

To identify major and stable genetic loci for PH, here we thoroughly summarized these functionally or genetic verified dwarfing loci from QTL linkage analysis and genome-wide association study published from 2003 to 2022. A total of 332 QTL, 270 GWAS loci and 83 genes for PH were integrated onto chromosomes according to their locations in the IWGSC RefSeq v2.1 and 65 QTL-rich clusters(QRC) were defined. Candidate genes in each QRC were predicted based on IWGSC Annotation v2.1 and the information on functional validation of homologous genes in other species. A total of 38 candidate genes were predicted for 65 QRC including three GA2ox genes in QRC-4B-IV, QRC-5A-VIII and QRC-6A-II(Rht24) as well as GA 20-oxidase 2(TaSD1-3A) in QRC-3A-IV. These outcomes lay concrete foundations for mapbased cloning of wheat dwarfing genes and application in breeding.展开更多

The main detrainment height determines the level to which the air parcel is lifted. We analyzed the main detrainment height over the Tibetan Plateau and its southern slope based on the CloudSat Cloud Profiling Radar 2B_GEOPROF dataset and the Aura Microwave Limb Sounder Level 2 cloud ice product onboard the Atrain constellation of Earth-observing satellites. It was found that the DCSs over the Tibetan Plateau and its southern slope have a higher main detrainment height (about 10-16 km) than other regions in the same latitude. The mean main detrainment heights are 12.9 and 13.3 km over the Tibetan Plateau and its southern slope, respectively. The cloud ice water path decreases by 16.8% after excluding the influences of DCSs, and the height with the maximum increase in cloud ice water content is located at 178 hPa (about 13 km). The main detrainment height and outflow horizontal range are higher and larger over the central and eastern Tibetan Plateau, the west of the southern slope, and the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau than that over the northwestern Tibetan Plateau. The main detrainment height and outflow horizontal range are lower and broader at nighttime than during daytime.展开更多

文摘Sudden earthquakes pose a threat to the running safety of trains on high-speed railway bridges, and the stiffness of piers is one of the factors affecting the dynamic response of train-track-bridge system. In this paper,a experiment of a train running on a high-speed railway bridge is performed based on a dynamic experiment system, and the corresponding numerical model is established. The reliability of the numerical model is verified by experiments. Then, the experiment and numerical data are analyzed to reveal the pier height effects on the running safety of trains on bridges. The results show that when the pier height changes, the frequency of the bridge below the 30 m pier height changes greater;the increase of pier height causes the transverse fundamental frequency of the bridge close to that of the train, and the shaking angle and lateral displacement of the train are the largest for bridge with 50 m pier, which increases the risk of derailment;with the pier height increases from 8 m to 50 m,the derailment coefficient obtained by numerical simulations increases by 75% on average, and the spectral intensity obtained by experiments increases by 120% on average, two indicators exhibit logarithmic variation.

文摘The dynamic optimal interpolation(DOI)method is a technique based on quasi-geostrophic dynamics for merging multi-satellite altimeter along-track observations to generate gridded absolute dynamic topography(ADT).Compared with the linear optimal interpolation(LOI)method, the DOI method can improve the accuracy of gridded ADT locally but with low computational efficiency.Consequently, considering both computational efficiency and accuracy, the DOI method is more suitable to be used only for regional applications. In this study,we propose to evaluate the suitable region for applying the DOI method based on the correlation between the absolute value of the Jacobian operator of the geostrophic stream function and the improvement achieved by the DOI method. After verifying the LOI and DOI methods, the suitable region was investigated in three typical areas:the Gulf Stream(25°N-50°N,55°W-80°W),the Japanese Kuroshio(25°N-45°N,135°E-155°E),and the South China Sea(5°N-25°N,100°E-125°E).We propose to use the DOI method only in regions outside the equatorial region and where the absolute value of the Jacobian operator of the geostrophic stream function is higher than1×10^(-11).

文摘In order to improve rib stability, failure criteria and instability mode of a thick coal seam with inter-band rock layer are analysed in this study.A three-dimensional mechanical model is established for the rib by considering the rock layer.A safety factor is defined foy the rib,and it is observed that the safety factor exhibits a positive correlation with the thickness and strength of the inter-band rock.A calculation method for determining critical parameters of the rock layer is presented to ensure the rib stability. It is revealed that incomplete propagation of the fracture at the hard rock constitutes a fundamental prerequisite for ensuring the rib stability. The influence of the position of the inter-band rock in the coal seam on failure mechanism of the rib was thoroughly investigated by developing a series of physical models for the rib at the face area. The best position for the inter-band rock in the coal seam is at a height of 1.5 m away from the roof line, which tends to provide a good stability state for the rib.For different inter-band rock positions, two ways of controlling rib by increasing supports stiffness and flexible grouting reinforcement are proposed.

文摘Surface Water and Ocean Topography(SWOT)is a next-generation radar altimeter that offers high resolution, wide swath, imaging capabilities. It has provided free public data worldwide since December 2023.This paper aims to preliminarily analyze the detection capabilities of the Ka-band radar interferometer(KaRIn)and Nadir altimeter(NALT),which are carried out by SWOT for internal solitary waves(ISWs),and to gather other remote sensing images to validate SWOT observations.KaRIn effectively detects ISW surface features and generates surface height variation maps reflecting the modulations induced by ISWs.However, its swath width does not completely cover the entire wave packet, and the resolution of L2/L3 level products(about 2 km)cannot be used to identify ISWs with smaller wavelengths.Additionally, significant wave height(SWH)images exhibit blocky structures that are not suitable for ISW studies;sea surface height anomaly(SSHA)images display systematic leftright banding. We optimize this imbalance using detrending methods;however, more precise treatment should commence with L1-level data.Quantitative analysis based on L3-level SSHA data indicates that the average SSHA variation induced by ISWs ranges from 10 cm to 20 cm.NALTs disturbed by ISWs record unusually elevated SWH and SSHA values, rendering the data unsuitable for analysis and necessitating targeted corrections in future retracking algorithms. For the normalized radar cross section,Ku-band and four-parameter maximum likelihood estimation retracking demonstrated greater sensitivity to minor changes in the sea surface, making them more suitable for ISW detection. In conclusion,SWOT demonstrates outstanding capabilities in ISW detection, significantly advancing research on the modulation of the sea surface by ISWs and remote sensing imaging mechanisms.
文摘Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of growth, as well as factors associated with growth retardation in children with primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS), and to investigate the effect of glucocorticoid (GC) use duration on growth retardation in these children. Time of GC usage is a risk factor for growth retardation in children with PNS.
文摘Introduction: Clinical assessment of hepatic span is usually subjective. Conclusion: The null hypothesis was rejected;hence this research has stated the law known as Belema’s Law of hepatic-height correlation, which states that the hepatic span of an individual is directly proportional to the height of that individual except in disease conditions affecting the liver directly or indirectly.

文摘Many genetic loci for wheat plant height(PH) have been reported, and 26 dwarfing genes have been catalogued. These outcomes lay concrete foundations for mapbased cloning of wheat dwarfing genes and application in breeding.
文摘A dedicated GPS buoy is designed for calibration and validation(Cal/Val)of satellite altimeters since 2014.In order to evaluate the accuracy of the sea surface height(SSH)measured by the GPS buoy, twelve campaigns have been done within China sea area between 2014 and 2021.In six of these campaigns, two static Global Navigation Satellite System stations were installed at distances of<1 km and 19 km from the buoy to assess how the baseline length influenced the derived SSH from the buoy solutions. The GPS buoy data was processed using the GAMIT/GLOBK software+TRACK module and CSRS-PPP tool to achieve the SSH.The SSH was compared with conventionally tide gauge(TG)data to evaluate the accuracy of the buoy with the standard deviation of the height element. The results showed that the difference in the standard deviation of the SSH from the buoy and the TG was less than 16 mm.The SSHs processed with different ephemeris(Ultra-Rapid,Rapid,Final)were not significantly different. When the baseline length was 19 km,the SSH solution of the GPS buoy performed well, with standard bias of less than 26 mm between the heights measured by the buoy and TG,meaning that the buoy could be used for Cal/Val of altimeters. The bias between the Canadian Spatial Reference System-precise point positioning tool and the TRACK varied a lot,and some of them were over 130 mm.This deemed too high to be useful for Cal/Val of satellite altimeters. Moreover, the GPS buoy solutions processed by GAMIT/GLOBK software+TRACK module were used for in-orbit Cal/Val of HY-2B/C satellites in ten campaigns. The SSH and significant wave height of the altimeters showed good agreements with the GPS buoy solutions.
文摘The seismic behavior of horizontally curved bridges, particularly with unequal height piers,is more complicated than that of straight bridges due to their geometric properties. In this study, the seismic responses of several horizontally curved single-column-bent viaducts with various degrees of curvature and different pier heights have been investigated, employing three different analysis approaches:namely, modal pushover analysis, uniform load method, and nonlinear time history analysis.Considering the investigated bridge configurations and utilizing the most common regularity indices, the results indicate that viaducts with 45-degree and 90-degree deck subtended angles can be categorized as regular and moderately irregular, respectively, while the bridges with 180-degree deck subtended angle are found to be highly irregular.Furthermore, the viaducts whose pier heights are asymmetric may be considered as irregular for almost all ranges of the deck subtended angles. The effects of higher transverse and longitudinal modes are discussed and the minimum analysis requirements are identified to assess the seismic response of such bridge configurations for design purposes.Although the Regularity Indices used here are useful tools to distinguish between regular and irregular bridges, further studies are needed to improve their reliability.

文摘Wind and wave data are essential in climatological and engineering design applications. In this study, data from 15 buoys located throughout the South China Sea(SCS)were used to evaluate the ERA5 wind and wave data.Applicability assessment are beneficial for gaining insight into the reliability of the ERA5 data in the SCS.The bias range between the ERA5 and observed wind-speed data was-0.78-0.99 m/s.The result indicates that, while the ERA5 wind-speed data underestimation was dominate, the overestimation of such data existed as well.Additionally, the ERA5 data underestimated annual maximum wind-speed by up to 38%,with a correlation coefficient>0.87.The bias between the ERA5 and observed significant wave height(SWH)data varied from-0.24 to 0.28 m.And the ERA5 data showed positive SWH bias, which implied a general underestimation at all locations, except those in the Beibu Gulf and centralwestern SCS,where overestimation was observed.Under extreme conditions, annual maximum SWH in the ERA5 data was underestimated by up to 30%.The correlation coefficients between the ERA5 and observed SWH data at all locations were greater than 0.92,except in the central-western SCS(0.84).The bias between the ERA5 and observed mean wave period(MWP)data varied from-0.74 to 0.57 s.The ERA5 data showed negative MWP biases implying a general overestimation at all locations, except for B1(the Beibu Gulf)and B7(the northeastern SCS),where underestimation was observed. The correlation coefficient between the ERA5 and observed MWP data in the Beibu Gulf was the smallest(0.56),and those of other locations fluctuated within a narrow range from 0.82 to 0.90.The intercomparison indicates that during the analyzed time-span,the ERA5 data generally underestimated wind-speed and SWH,but overestimated MWP.Under non-extreme conditions, the ERA5 wind-speed and SWH data can be used with confidence in most regions of the SCS,except in the central-western SCS.

文摘Deep learning based methods have been successfully applied to semantic segmentation of optical remote sensing images. However,as more and more remote sensing data is available,it is a new challenge to comprehensively utilize multi-modal remote sensing data to break through the performance bottleneck of single-modal interpretation. In addition, semantic segmentation and height estimation in remote sensing data are two tasks with strong correlation, but existing methods usually study individual tasks separately, which leads to high computational resource overhead. To this end,we propose a Multi-Task learning framework for Multi-Modal remote sensing images(MM_MT).Specifically,we design a Cross-Modal Feature Fusion(CMFF)method, which aggregates complementary information of different modalities to improve the accuracy of semantic segmentation and height estimation.Besides,a dual-stream multi-task learning method is introduced for Joint Semantic Segmentation and Height Estimation(JSSHE),extracting common features in a shared network to save time and resources, and then learning task-specific features in two task branches.Experimental results on the public multi-modal remote sensing image dataset Potsdam show that compared to training two tasks independently,multi-task learning saves 20%of training time and achieves competitive performance with mIoU of 83.02%for semantic segmentation and accuracy of 95.26%for height estimation.

文摘Islands and the mainland are separated by seas, and the distances between them might be so long that the height on the mainland cannot be exactly translated to the islands, resulting in different height systems on the mainland and the islands. In this study,we used astrogeodetic deflections of the vertical and ellipsoidal heights of points on the mainland and island near their coastlines to implement height connection across sea areas.First, the modeled gravity and modeled astrogeodetic vertical deflections of segmentation points along connecting routes over the sea between the mainland and the island were determined by Earth Gravity Model(EGM),and the ellipsoidal heights of segmentation points were determined by the satellite altimetry data sets.Second,we used a linear interpolation model to increase the precision of the vertical deflections of segmentation points.Third,we computed the geopotential difference of points between the mainland and the island using a method derived from geopotential theory and the astronomical leveling principle. Finally,we estimated the normal height of the point on the island using the geopotential-difference iterative computation approach.Using observed data of normal heights, ellipsoidal heights, and astrogeodetic vertical deflections referring to height sites in Qingdao,Shandong Province,we conducted a numerical experiment involving the normal height connection across sea regions. We determined the data of the ellipsoidal heights and gravity of segmentation points along the connecting route across the water in the numerical experiment using DTU10.The distance of the height connection across the sea was approximately 10.5 km.According to China's official leveling specifications, the experimental results met the criterion of third-class leveling precision.

文摘The joint design criteria of significant wave heights and wind speeds are quite important for the structural reliability of fixed offshore platforms. However, the design method that regards different ocean environmental variables as independent is conservative. In the present study,we introduce a bivariate sample consisting of the maximum wave heights and concomitant wind speeds of the threshold by using the peak-over-threshold and declustering methods. After selecting the appropriate bivariate copulas and univariate distributions and blocking the sample into years, the bivariate compound distribution of annual extreme wave heights and concomitant wind speeds is constructed. Two joint design criteria, namely, the joint probability density method and the conditional probability method, are applied to obtain the joint return values of significant wave heights and wind speeds. Results show that(28.5±0.5)m s^(-1)is the frequently obtained wind speed based on the Atlantic dataset, and these joint design values are more appropriate than those calculated by univariate analysis in the fatigue design.
文摘The present study deals with the determination of Mount Olympus summit(Mytikas),exploiting modern observations such as Global Navigation Satellite Systems(GNSS)and existing geodetic information. The last official Olympus height determination goes back 102 years by the Swiss surveyor M.Kurz.Since then, only unofficial measurement campaigns have taken place. There is a variety of released heights, which range from 2917 to 2919 meters. In September and October of 2022,we conducted a GNSS campaign, focusing on the area of highest Olympus peaks.Employing precise GNSS measurements(accuracy of 1-3 cm),in conjunction with height information from Greece’s National Triangulation Network(5-10 cm accuracy)and an appropriate, recent geoid model(5-6 cm accuracy),we estimate through the so-called GNSS-levelling,the height of Olympus to 2917.727 m with respect to Greece’s officially accepted mean sea level and 2918.390 m with respect to the global vertical datum. Our estimation of Olympus highest peak shows remarkable consistency at the level of 12.8 cm to that of M.Kurz in 1921.

文摘Traditional inspection methods cannot quickly and accurately monitor tree barriers and safeguard the transmission lines. To solve these problems,in this study,we proposed a rapid canopy height information extraction method using optical remote sensing and LiDAR,and used UAV optical imagery with LiDAR to monitor the height of trees in a university and a high-voltage transmission line corridor in the Ningxia region. The results showed that the relative error of tree height extraction using UAV optical images was less than 5%,and the lowest relative error was 0.11%.The determination coefficient R^(2) between the optical image tree height extraction results and the measured tree height was 0.97,thus indicating a high correlation for both.In the field of tree barrier monitoring, the determination coefficient R^(2) of tree height extracted using airborne LiDAR point cloud, and canopy height model(CHM)and of the measured tree height were 0.947 and 0.931,respectively.The maximum and minimum relative error in tree height extraction performed using point cloud was 2.91%and 0.2%,respectively,with an extraction accuracy of over 95%.The experimental results demonstrated that it is feasible to use UAV optical remote sensing and LiDAR in monitoring tree barriers and tree height information extraction quickly and accurately, which is of great significance for the risk assessment and early warning of tree barriers in transmission-line corridors.

文摘Global navigation satellite system(GNSS)technique has irreplaceable advantages in the continuous monitoring of surface deformation.Reducing noise to improve the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and extract the concerned signals is of great significance. As an improved algorithm of empirical mode decomposition(EMD),complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise(CEEMDAN)algorithm has better signal processing ability.Using the CEEMDAN algorithm, the height time series of 29GNSS stations in Chinese mainland were analyzed, and good denoising effects and extraction from periodic signals were achieved. The numerical results showed that the annual signal obtained with the CEEMDAN algorithm was significantly based on Lomb_Scargle spectrum analysis, and large differences in the long-term signals were found between the stations at different locations in Chinese mainland. With respect to data denoising, compared with the EMD and wavelet denoising algorithms, the CEEMDAN algorithm respectively improved the SNR by 29.35% and 36.54%,increased the correlation coefficient by 8.67% and 11.96%,and reduced root mean square error(RMSE)by 44.68% and 43.48%,indicating that the CEEMDAN algorithm had better denoising behavior than the other two algorithms. In addition, the results demonstrated that different denoising methods had little influence on estimating the annual vertical deformation velocity. The extraction of periodic signals showed that more components were retained by using the CEEMDAN algorithm than the EMD algorithm, which indicated that the CEEMDAN algorithm had advantages over frequency aliasing. In conclusion, the CEEMDAN algorithm was recommended for processing the GNSS height time series to analyze the vertical deformation due to its excellent features of denoising and the extraction of periodic signals.

文摘Foxtail millet(Setaria italica)is an important C4 model crop;however, due to its high-density planting and high stature, lodging at the filling stage resulted in a serious reduction in yield and quality. Therefore,it is imperative to identify and deploy the genes controlling foxtail millet plant height. In this study,we used a semi-dwarf line 263A and an elite high-stalk breeding variety,Chuang 29 to construct an F2 population to identify dwarf genes. We performed transcriptome analysis(RNA-seq)using internode tissues sampled at three jointing stages of 263A and Chuang 29,as well as bulk segregant analysis(BSA)on their F2 population.A total of 8918 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were obtained from RNA-seq analysis, and GO analysis showed that DEGs were enriched in functions such as‘‘gibberellin metabolic process”and‘‘oxidoreductase activity”,which have previously been shown to be associated with plant height.A total 593 mutated genes were screened by BSA-seq method. One hundred and seventy-six out of the 593 mutated genes showed differential expression levels between the two parental lines, and seven genes not only showed differential expression in two or three internode tissues but also showed high genomic variation in coding regions, which indicated they play a crucial role in plant height determination.Among them,we found a gibberellin biosynthesis related GA20 oxidase gene(Seita.5G404900),which had a single-base at the third exon, leading to the frameshift mutation at 263A.Cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence assay and association analysis proved the single-base in Seita.5G404900 co-segregated with dwarf phenotype in two independent F2 populations planted in entirely different environments.Taken together, the candidate genes identified in this study will help to elucidate the genetic basis of foxtail millet plant height, and the molecular marker will be useful for marker-assisted dwarf breeding.

文摘Deep convection systems (DCSs) can rapidly lift water vapor and other pollutants from the lower troposphere to the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere. The main detrainment height and outflow horizontal range are lower and broader at nighttime than during daytime.

文摘Out-of-plane microneedle structures are widely used in various applications such as transcutaneous drug delivery and neural signal recording for brain machine interface. This work presents a novel but simple method to fabricate high-density silicon(Si)microneedle arrays with various heights and diverse cross-sectional shapes depending on photomask pattern designs. The proposed fabrication method is composed of a single photolithography and two subsequent deep reactive ion etching(DRIE)steps.First,a photoresist layer was patterned on a Si substrate to define areas to be etched, which will eventually determine the final location and shape of each individual microneedle. Then, the 1st DRIE step created deep trenches with a highly anisotropic etching of the Si substrate.Subsequently, the photoresist was removed for more isotropic etching;the 2nd DRIE isolated and sharpened microneedles from the predefined trench structures.Depending on diverse photomask designs, the 2nd DRIE formed arrays of microneedles that have various height distributions,as well as diverse cross-sectional shapes across the substrate. With these simple steps,high-aspect ratio microneedles were created in the high density of up to 625 microneedles mm^(-2)on a Si wafer.Insertion tests showed a small force as low as~172μN/microneedle is required for microneedle arrays to penetrate the dura mater of a mouse brain. To demonstrate a feasibility of drug delivery application,we also implemented silk microneedle arrays using molding processes. The fabrication method of the present study is expected to be broadly applicable to create microneedle structures for drug delivery, neuroprosthetic devices, and so on.
文摘The numerical simulations were performed using the AMPS-1D simulator to study the effects of the CZTS as an absorber layer and the contacts’barrier height on the performance of four ZnO/CdS/CZTS solar cells. To obtain the best cell performances, the barrier heights of the back and front contacts were adjusted between 0.01,0.77,0.5,and 1.55 eV,respectively. For simulations,we used the lifetime mode, and the device performances were evaluated under AM1.5 illumination spectra. We found that the efficiency, fill factor, and open-circuit voltage were almost constant at a front contact barrier height of less than 0.31 eV.The short-current density was not affected by the front contact barrier height. The back contact material had a significant impact on the CZTS cells parameters. The best performance was obtained for the CZTS550 cell with JSC=29.53 mA/cm2,VOC=1.07 V,FF=0.88,andη=28.08%at barrier heights of 0.31 and 1.55 eV for front and back contacts, respectively. The conduction band offset at the CZTS550/CdS hetero-junction was found to be spike-like with 0.21 eV.The obtained conversion efficiency is comparable to those previously reported in the literature.
