This paper gives a general overview of rationale of tropical agricultural circular economy.On the basis of ecological economic theory,circular economy is a new model of economic development which aims at realizing reducing of resources use,reuse of products and recycling of wastes,conforming to the principle of 4R.It is to make economic system melt into the process of cycle of material of natural ecological system harmoniously.This paper introduces the advantages of developing tropical agriculture in Hainan Province,the main problems existing in the development and two main models of sustainable tropical agricultural development in Hainan Province at present.9 typical models of tropical agricultural circular economy in Hainan Province are listed in particular,including compound ecological project of forestry and animal husbandry,three-dimensional planting model of plantation,multilayered structure of eucalyptuses,sustainable agricultural model of sightseeing,the model of using animal manure,precision tropical agricultural model,clean production model of tropical agriculture,deep processing model of tropical agricultural products,and the model of ecological agricultural industrialization.Corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to promote development of tropical agricultural circular economy in Hainan Province as follows:take actions that suit local circumstances,exert advantage and exploit potential;give full play to advantage of integration of production,teaching and research,and promote agriculture by applying scientific and technological advances;the whole staff participate and strengthen construction of soft environment and hard environment. 展开更多

热带农业是连接我国和世界热区国家的重要纽带。新时代为热带农业国际合作发展提供了难得的政策机遇,也赋予新的历史使命。热带农业国际合作发展选题很大程度上决定着热带农业国际合作能否顺利开展和达到预期效果,而选题的前提是把握选... 热带农业是连接我国和世界热区国家的重要纽带。新时代为热带农业国际合作发展提供了难得的政策机遇,也赋予新的历史使命。热带农业国际合作发展选题很大程度上决定着热带农业国际合作能否顺利开展和达到预期效果,而选题的前提是把握选题所需要遵循的内在逻辑要求。文章结合热带农业国际合作发展的自身规律和要求,系统地研究了热带农业国际合作发展选题逻辑,并提出一个完整的选题逻辑体系。研究认为,选题需坚持正确的立场和观点,围绕国家和全球战略需求,立足我国比较优势,以热带农业全球价值链为脉络,结合热带农业产业特征和世界热带国家区域特征,采用国别比较和引进变量的研究方法,并参考借鉴世界粮农组织(FAO)有关研究工作来把握全球热带农业发展选题。选题应有助于引领全球热带农业科技创新发展目标的实现,有助于热带农业全球价值链的重塑和为世界热区发展中国家谋取更多利益。 展开更多

热带海岛典型地貌风场特性的无人机实测

利用双无人机测风系统实测海岛三类典型场地的风场特性,并与多国风荷载规范对比。结果表明,近海岸、低矮温室基地、多高层建筑群实测风剖面分别与中国规范A类、日本规范Ⅲ类、美国规范B类剖面较吻合。近海岸湍流强度小于各国规范,低矮... 利用双无人机测风系统实测海岛三类典型场地的风场特性,并与多国风荷载规范对比。结果表明,近海岸、低矮温室基地、多高层建筑群实测风剖面分别与中国规范A类、日本规范Ⅲ类、美国规范B类剖面较吻合。近海岸湍流强度小于各国规范,低矮温室、多高层建筑群实测值分别与日本规范Ⅲ类、Ⅳ类场地值较吻合。阵风因子随粗糙度、湍流强度提高而增大,近海岸、多高层建筑群阵风因子与湍流强度相关性分别接近Ishizaki、Cao建议模型。实测积分尺度随高度而增大,随粗糙度而减小,提出热带海岛典型地貌的积分尺度公式。同一地貌的风速竖向、水平相关性随高差、水平间距增大而减弱;同一高差的风速竖向相关性随粗糙度提高而减弱。von Karman谱能较好地描述热带海岛脉动风在频域内的能量分布特性。 展开更多

Lignocellulosic residues resulting from agricultural activities and urban centers cause pollution. A possible solution to this problem is to combine these residues with woody plants to produce particleboards. The purpose of this study was to evaluate decay resistance, coating and burning properties and the change of color caused by accelerated weathering of particleboards manufactured with a combination of 3 woody species used for commercial reforestation in tropical areas (Cupressus lusitanica, Gmelina arborea and Tectona grandis), pineapple (Ananas comosus) leaves from the crown and the plant (PL), empty fruit bunch of Elaeis guineensis (EBF) and tetra pak packages (TP). According to the results, the mixtures of T. grandis and EFB were classified as moderately resistant and other mixtures (woody species and PL or TP) were classified as slightly resistant. The finish performance test determined that the mixtures with TP presented the best performance, followed by the mixtures with oil palm components and the mixtures composed of pineapple leaves. Regarding lacquer consumption, no differences were found between the mixtures. The combustion test determined that particleboards with TP and EFB showed the highest resistance to combustion, while pineapple presented the lowest resistances to combustion. In the accelerated weathering exposure test, the mixtures of the three species with TP showed the best performance in accelerated weathering. Contrariwise, the mixtures with pineapple leaves showed the lowest resistance to accelerated weathering. Oil palm particleboards presented lower resistance to weathering than TP, though higher than pineapple leaves’ resistance. 展开更多

Much research has focused on the optimal use of crop residues in agriculture. Recent work indicates that plant residue decomposition rates, including nutrient release rates can be increased by pre-exposure to sunlight. This has potential as a technology to manipulate nutrient release from residues to match crop demands. The possible development and use of this technology is discussed. There is some evidence that this could increase emissions of trace gases, but the increase is thought to be small. Research needs are discussed. 展开更多

The Cross River Rainforest of South Eastern Nigeria is one of Africa’s last remaining areas of pristine tropical high forest, extremely rich in a wide variety of flora and fauna species, and is among the twenty five biodiversity hotspots in the world. The forest has important biophysical properties which affect local, regional and global environmental quality. Using a combination of document research, GIS report, field observations, interviews and focus group discussions, the study reveals that the ecological integrity of this forest is being seriously threatened by a myriad of human activities, such as unsustainable agricultural practices, illegal logging, population explosion/expansion of human settlements, construction of highways, mining activities, and high unemployment/pressure on natural resources. All the above factors have combined to impact heavily on the depletion and extinction of valuable flora and fauna species in the region. Rigorous research-based innovative forestry and biodiversity policies and programmes, forest restoration initiatives, community-based forest management, and sustainable land use practices are recommended to save the Cross River Rainforest from total destruction. 展开更多

Ferralsols form a dominant type of soil on which most crops are grown in the Lake Victoria agro-ecological zone. Soil acidity has been recognized among the most important agricultural problems in such soils, which adversely affect crop production and productivity. A study was conducted with the objective of determining the effect of applying low rates of lime and chicken manure on selected soil chemical properties. Using a Split Plot Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design, agricultural lime (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 & 2.0 t&middot;ha<sup>-1</sup>) as the main plot and chicken manure (0.0, 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0 t&middot;ha<sup>-1</sup>) as sub-plot were applied, replicated three times. The test crop was common bean var. NABE 15. The experiment was conducted for three rainy seasons, two seasons on-station and one season on-farm on Ferralsol soil in the Lake Victoria crescent of central Uganda. The results showed that applying low rates of lime with chicken manure significantly (p &middot;ha<sup>-1</sup> lime was applied with the four chicken manure rates in Mukono. From the study, we recommend the application of small quantities of lime at 1.0 t&middot;ha<sup>-1</sup> with either 2.0 or 3.0 t&middot;ha<sup>-1</sup> chicken manure. 展开更多
