The results obtained from the striated muscle show clearly the existence of two sets of protein filaments in the myofibril, though the detail arrangements and the relationships between them may show certain differences in muscles of different species of animal. The application of the negative stain technique has made it possible to study the fine structure of the separated protein filaments of the myofibrils, and the structure of the thin protein filaments separated from vertebrate muscle as well展开更多
