Yet, how to guarantee the security of its digital content and protect the legal benefits for each section of the value chain becomes a crucial "bottleneck" in the home network development. The Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology provides total solution for usage, storage, transfer, and tracing the digital contents and rights. Its basic features are systematic and controllability. Considering the growth of the new media and services and the requirements of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection in a home network, it's necessary to solve consistency problems in usage, storage, and transfer of contents and rights. In addition, it is inevitable to conduct researches of key techniques such as end-to-end secure transmission, conditional access and play, and right description.展开更多

Although architecture of the digital home network based on telecommunication networks has been standardized in China, only wireless access is defined to be allowable. Therefore, it becomes the focus of further research how to establish a wireless digital home network. This article proposes the concept and shows the architecture of ubiquitous access for wireless digital home networks. Moreover, key technologies for ubiquitous access are discussed here, including cognitive radio, the concept of wireless Mesh, generic link transfer mechanism, Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee mechanism, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and coexistence of heterogeneous systems.展开更多

A Body Area Network (BAN) consists of a variety of body sensors. In a telecare system the BAN can provide a network environment that allows timely collection of information and POC service, which gives significant new meaning to a home network. Through the BAN, a home network is able to promptly and effectively collect monitoring information for a telecare system, and to preview monitored medical data in advance. Should a problem arise, it can immediately notify other family members to provide relieve to the sick.展开更多

The main architecture of multiple WPANs accessing the HAN is proposed. The medium access control( MAC) -level coordination solution applied in the access point (AP)for the coexistence of different communication protocols within WPAN is discussed. The diagram of the adaptive FRESH filter is described. The anti-interference models of the FRESH filter in the scenario of multiple WPANs accessing the HAN are proposed. The minimum mean square error (MMSE)convergence property of the FRESH filter with the change in the data point number is analyzed. The simulation results indicate that the FRESH filter can effectively extract the signal of interest (SOI) from the interference with the partly overlapped spectrum. Thus, the excellent anti-interference performance of the FRESH filter is validated. Moreover, by both theoretical analysis and simulation, the MMSE convergent property of the FRESH filter is also proven.展开更多

It has generally been avoided by the mainstream market due to its “cryptic” nature which requires technical knowledge prior to its use. Lack of strong business model (by companies) and inability to adapt to new rapid changes (by consumers) are the two primary factors contributing to the fact that IoT is well ahead of its times but it need no longer be. In this paper, I’ve created a setup for smart home that allows the users to control their electrical appliances from internet and even makes the appliances smart enough to react to the environmental conditions on their own. Using this setup, I observed the pattern in which electricity consumption and carbon footprints reduced as compared to the conventional setup i.e. without IoT. Analyzing this data provided me a solid proof that IoT definitely helps us to save electricity and environment. Since IoT is beneficial for all, I, then focused on the challenges that are hampering the penetration of IoT into the daily lives of consumers and how the consumer is overlooking the benefits that it has to offer, which even includes a primary concern for many, i.e. saving money. This paper is overall aimed to change the way a consumer thinks about IoT and to provide a solid ground to how it is beneficial.展开更多
