Based on fundamental principles of ecology ,the ecological philosophy connotation of Feng-Shui(Wind and Water) concept from experiences of Chinese agricultural culture was first discussed , and then hu-man-ecological implications of Feng-Shui environment architecture is analyzed. As a theoretical integrationbetween human ecology and Feng-Shui theory ,“environment” and “environmental design” concepts were re-examined and given new definitions. With holistic principles of human ecological design in the context ofFeng-Shui , essential technical ways of integrative human ecological design were explored in the presentationof a case study of an urban environmental design in east China. 展开更多

Sustainability can only be assured with a human-ecological understanding of the complexinteractions among environmental, economic and social/cultural factors and with careful planningand management grounded in ecological principles. This paper will probe an integrative methodologyfor achieving environmentally sound, economically productive, and ecologically responsibledevelopment in urban and industrial areas of China through ecological regulation. The central objec-tive is to promote highly efficient resource use rather than high speed development, harmonious sys-tem′s relationship rather than inflexible compartmentalization, and robust and vital self-organizationrather than bureaucrstic control. This ecological order is to be regulated through technological inno-vation,institutional reform, and behavioral incentives that promote positive economic dcvelopmentwhile mitigating negative environmental impacts. 展开更多

To conduct the ecological restoration and reconstruction of disaster areas after the severe earthquake, such as Wenchuan Earthquake and Lushan Earthquake, this article uses region al ecological environment evaluation and ecological footprint to construct a quantitative analysis model on the basis of ecololgical environment indexes in Mianzhu City. Through this model, resource status of the regional environment in Mianzhu is analyzed, as well as the ecological capacity and the ecological security. Based on the evaluation and analysis, this paper provides multi-path development strategies of ecological restoration and sustainable development of human settlements after the earthquake. 展开更多

The centralized utilization of heavy-metal-contaminated soil has become the main strategy to remediate brownfield-site pollution. However, few studies have evaluated the ecological and human health risks of reusing these remediated soils.Considering Zn as the target metal, systematic pHdependent leaching and the Community Bureau of Reference(BCR)extraction were conducted at six pH values(pH=2,4,6,8,10,12)for the remediated soil treated through thermal curing. The pHdependent leaching results showed that with the formation of ZnCr2O4 spinel phases, the remediated soil exhibited strong inherent resistance to acidic attack over longer leaching periods.Furthermore, the BCR extraction results showed that the leaching agent pH value mainly affected the acid-soluble fraction content. Moreover,a strong complementary relationship was noted between the leaching and acid-soluble fraction contents, indicating that the sum of these two parameters is representative of the remediated soil risk value. Therefore,we proposed a two-step calculation method to determine the sum of the two heavy metal parameters as the risk value of remediated soil.In contrast to the traditional one-step calculation method, which only uses the leaching content as the risk value, this two-step calculation method can effectively avoid underestimating the risk of remediated soil. 展开更多
