Fourth Beijing Human Rights Forum Held in Beijing

The Fourth Beijing Forum on Human Rights was held in Beijing from September 21-23, 2011. Jointlysponsored by the China 5oclety for Human Rights Studies and the China Human Rights Development Foundation, the forum was centered on the theme of ＂Cultural Tradition, Concept of Values and Human Rights.＂ Attending were nearly 100 senior human rights officials, special- ists and scholars from 26 countries and regions as well as the UnitedNations and other international organizations.

Sino-German Human Rights Symposium Held in Beijing

The 12th Sino-German Human Rights Symposium was held from July 13 to 14 in Beijing, with a theme of international law and human fights protection. Chinese and German participants at the symposium discussed international legal protection for sovereignty and civil fights, and co- ordination between international human rights conventions and national laws in respective countries, exchanged their views in a candid method and reached extensive consensus on related issues.

61st Anniversary of Adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights Marked in Beijing

On Dec. 10, 2009, the International Human Rights Day, Scholars and students inBeijing gathered to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in China University of Political Science and Law. The Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Institute of China University of Political Science and Law, the Law School of Renmin University of China, and the LawSchool of Tsinghua University jointly sponsored the commemorations. The commemoration consisted of four parts including ＂the 61 st Anniversary of the Adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Photo Exhibition＂, ＂Remembrance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights＂, and relative academic seminars.
