Synthesis of 3－（R）－（Adenin－9＇－yl）－4－（R）－Hydroxy－5－（R）－Hydroxymethyltetrahydrofuran

R)-(adenin-9'-yl)-4-(R)-hydroxy-5-(R)-hydroxymethyltetrahydrofuran was synthesized by the regeoselective substitution of 3, 4-epoxy-(trans)-5-dimethoxymethylterahydrofuran which was obtained ty 4 steps from L-xylose.

Preparation and Characterization of Hydroxyiron-Montmorillonite Complexes

Hydroxy Fe ions react slowly with montmorillonite by intercalation into their interlayer space and adsorption on their surface to form various hydroxyiron montmorillonite complexes. Hydroxyiron montmorillonite complexes are assumed to have the ability to adsorb anions such as H 2PO - 4, HPO 2- 4, CrO 2- 4, CrO - 2, H 2AsO - 4, HAsO 2- 4 , AsO 3- 4 and F -, which may come from weathered rocks or waste industrial water, and result in concentration of P, Cr, As and F in soil. In this paper, hydroxy Fe ions including Fe(OH) 2+ , Fe(OH) + 2 and Fe 2(OH) 2+ 2 are prepared through hydrolysis of iron in acid solutions with different pH values. Corresponding hydroxyiron montmorillonite complexes are obtained by intercalation and adsorption of these hydroxy Fe ions into the interlayer space and on the surface of montmorillonite. The obtained hydroxyiron montmorillonite complexes are characterized with XRD and DTA, showing that they have similar basal space and thermal stability with Fe montmorillonite.

Spectrofluorimetric Determination of Magnesium (Ⅱ) with 7-(8-Hydroxy-3, 6-Disulfonaphthylazo)-8-Hydroxyquinoline-5-Sulfonic Acid

A new fluorescent reagent, 7 (8 hydroxy 3, 6 disulfonaphthylazo) 8 hydroxyquinoline 5 sulfonic acid (HDNHQ) for the determination of magnesium has been developed. It reacted with magnesium to form a 1∶1 fluorescent complex with λ ex / λ em =356/495 nm immediately at room temperature in ammonia ammonium chloride buffer (pH 10.7). A linear relationship was obtained in the magnesium concentration range of 0 160 ng·mL -1 with the detection limit of 0.04 ng·mL -1 . The proposed method was simple, rapid and sensitive. It has been successfully applied to the determination of trace magnesium in blood serum with recoveries of 103.75% and 98.16%, respectively.

Further Report on A Novel Scission of Alkyl Carbonyl C-C Bond by Substituted 4-Hydroxyacetophenones

3-Methoxy-, 3, 5-dimethoxy-, and 3-phenyl-4-hydroxyacetophenones suffered alkyl carbonyl C-C bond scission to yield 4-hydroxybenzoate esters and 4-isopropenylphenols under standard conditions of ethylene ketal formation; the latter underwent in situ dimerization, cyclization, and rearrangement to give substituted indanols. The isopropenylphenol derived from 3,5-ditertbutyl-4-hydroxyacetophenone did not dimerize but condensed with its precursor to yield a substituted diphenylpropanone. 3-nitro-, 3,5-dinitro-, and 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxyacetophenones on the other hand reacted normally to give ethylene ketals in good yields.

Adsorption of Direct Green B on mixed hydroxy-Fe-Al pillared montmori llonite with large basal spacing

Through cation exchanging of montmorillonite, mixed hydroxy Fe Al pillared montmorillonites with large basal spacing were synthesized. The application of these mixed hydroxy Fe Al pillared montmorillonites as adsorbents in the areas of environmental protection and pollution control was investigated. Adsorption of Direct Green B, an organic dye, on OH—Fe—, OH—Al—, OH—Fe—Al— pillared montmorillonites was studied. Results showed that these pillared montmorillonites had much better adsorption properties than traditional Na organo montmorillonite. It was also found that pH of the solutions had great effect on the performance of these hydroxy metal pillared montmorillonites in treating the wastewater containing Direct Green B.

Synthesis of 6-chloro and 6-fluoro-4-hydroxyl-2-quinolone and their azo disperse dyes

In this study,6-chloro-4-hydroxy-2-quinolone and 6-flouro-4-hydroxy-2-quinolone were synthesized from corresponding dianilides.These compounds were coupled with some diazotized aromatic amines to give the corresponding azo disperse dyes.The structures of the quinolone derivatives and new azo dyes were confirmed by UV-vis,FT-IR,;H NMR and elemental analysis.

Ultra-performance liquid chromatography electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry method for the simultaneous determination of itraconazole and hydroxy itraconazole in human plasma

A highly sensitive, selective, and precise ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and validated for simultaneous quantification of itraconazole and hydroxy itraconazole in human plasma by a single liquid-liquid extraction step. The precursor to product ion transitions of m/z 705.3/392.3, m/z 721.2/408.3 and m/z 708.2/435.4 were used to detect and quantify itraconazole, hydroxy itraconazole and itraconazole-d3 respectively. The lower limit of quantitation was found to be 0.500 ng/mL for itraconazole and 1.00 ng/mL for hydroxy itraconazole. The mean recoveries for itraconazole and hydroxy itraconazole were found to be 100.045% and 100.021%, respectively. This developed method with a chromatographic run time of 2.0 min was successfully applied to a bioequivalence study of 100 mg itraconazole capsule.

Studies on the plasma tryptophan and urinary 5-hydroxy-3-indoleacetic acid in expedition members residing in Antarctica

In order to clarify the possible relationship between the changes of behavior/personality and metabolic changes of 5 hydroxytryptamine (5 HT) in Antarctic expedition members, plasma tryptophan (Trp) and urinary 5 hydroxy 3 indoleacetic acid (5 HIAA) were studied for 24 winter over and 19 summer over members of the 8th and 11th CHINARE respectively. Results showed that plasma Trp decreased significantly after residing 1￣3 months at Great Wall Station and did not recover on returning back to Beijing from Antarctica by two weeks travelling. Urinary 5 HIAA increased significantly after residing 6 months at Great Wall Station, and recovered on returning back to Beijing from Antarctica in the winter over members. The decrease of plasma Trp may be related to the decline of brain 5 HT which might play a role in the changes of behavior/personality . Increase of urinary 5 HIAA might reflect metabolic changes of 5 HT as a whole, but cold weather involving in the release response of platelet should be considered. Therefore, supplement of related food rich in Trp or intervention of L Trp might be valuable.

CONVERSION OF UNSATURATED LONG－CHAIN FATTY ACIDS TO 10－HYDROXY FATTY ACIDS BY RESTING CELLS OF Nocardia sp

Resting cells of Nocardia sp.were used to convert a series of unsaturated long-chain fatty acids to 10-hvdroxy fatty acids.Structures of all metabolites were suggested by 1Hnuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrum.The results showed that the hydroxylation sterospecificity happened at the cis-9 double bond with other position unaffected.

STUDIES ON SELF-VULCANIZING FLUOROELASTOMER/PHENOL HYDROXY SILICONE RUBBER BLENDS

Self-vulcanizing blends of phenol hydroxy silicone rubber (PHSR) and fluoroelastomer (FPM) were prepared. Vulcanized rubbers with lower glass transition temperature (T(g)) were successfully obtained. The results of dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) show that the vulcanized FPM/PHSR (10 phr) blend has only one T(g) temperature, demonstrating the well compatibility between FPM and PHSR. The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) demonstrates that the PHSR do little damage to the thermal stability of FPM. The vulcanization characteristics of the FPM/PHSR blends were analyzed by using oscillating disc rheometer (ODR). The results show that FPM/PHSR blends have smaller S(min) values and longer scorch time than that of FPM with the same level of bisphenol AF curing agent. It means that FPM/PHSR blends have better processability and curing security. Better mechanical properties can be gained for FPM/PHSR blends at appropriate level of PHSR.

Novel Approach to Characterization of Rare Earth Complexation with 1, 5-Bis(2-Hydroxy-5-Chlorphenyl)-3-Cyanoformazan in Presence of Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide

The ternary interaction of 1, 5 bis(2 hydroxy 5 chlorphenyl) 3 cyanoformazan (HCPCF) with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and rare earths (RE: Yb, Dy, Er and Eu) was investigated at pH 9.84 by the microsurface adsorption spectral correction technique (MSASC). The aggregation of HCPCF on CTAB obeys the Langmuir isothermal adsorption and the interaction of RE with the HCPCF CTAB aggregate was first found to accord with the monolayer binding. The effects of temperature and ionic strength of solution on the aggregations were made. The binary aggregate and the ternary complex were characterized.

Determination of Amino Acidsas Their N-Hydroxy-succinimidyl-3-indolylacetate Derivatives by Reversed-phase HPLC

The present paper covers the reversed phase HPLC separation and determination of fourteen derivatized amino acids with a new reagent N hydroxy succinimidyl 3 indolylacetate(SIIA). The derivatives of the amino acids were eluted by a mobile phase of methanol water containing 10 mmol/L H 3cit Na 2HPO 4 buffer of pH 3 5 and 1 2 mmol/L tetrabutylammonium bromide on an ODS column. The detection limits were pmol level or so, respectively, when a signal to noise ratio was 3. The method was applied to the determination of amino acids in tea sample with satisfactory results.

Studies on the Total Synthesis of Hainanolide(Ⅳ)-Revising the Stereochemistry of C_(2α)-H and Introducing the Two Hydroxy Groups at C_(3β),C_(4α) Positions

Tricyclic compound 6 was synthesized form compound 1 through sis steps, thus preblem of the stereochemistry of C2α-H being solved. The stereochemistry for introducing hydroxy groups at C3β and C4α positions in compound 1 was also described.

Research on the Sizing Performance of Starch Grafted Poly-hydroxy Alkyl-acid Esters

Starch grafted poly-hydroxy alkyl-acid esters were prepared via graft polymerization.Different characteristics of grafted starches were tested such as viscosity,viscosity stability,adhesion as well as properties of sized yarns.Sizing performance was analyzed from the aspect of physical and chemical reactions between polymer molecules.It shows that starch grafted poly-hydroxy alkyl-acid esters have excellent sizing performance and could absolutely be used as sizes for polyester-cotton yarns.

Environmentally Benign Synthetic Protocol for O-Alkylation of <i>β</i>-Naphthols and Hydroxy Pyridines in Aqueous Micellar Media

Ultrasonic and microwave-assisted practical methods have been developed for the O-alkylation of aryl (β-naphthols) and Heteroaryl (hydroxy pyridines) in aqueous surfactant media in good to excellent yields. The developed methods are simple, efficient, economical and environmentally safe. Our novel methods describe a set of green methods to Wil-liamson synthesis.

An improved LC–MS/MS method for the quantification of alverine and para hydroxy alverine in human plasma for a bioequivalence study

A highly sensitive and selective high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and validated for the quantification of alverine（ALV） and its active metabolite, para hydroxy alverine（PHA）, in human plasma. For sample preparation, solid phase extraction of analytes was performed on Phenomenex Strata-X cartridges using alverine-d5 as the internal standard. The analytes were separated on Symmetry Shield RP18（150 mm×3.9 mm, 5 μm） column with a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile and10 mM ammonium formate（65：35, v/v）. Detection and quantitation was done by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry in the positive mode using multiple reaction monitoring. The assay method was fully validated over the concentration range of 15.0–15,000 pg/mL for ALV and 30.0–15,000 pg/mL for PHA. The intra-day and inter-day accuracy and precision（% CV） ranged from 94.00% to 96.00% and 0.48% to 4.15% for both the analytes. The mean recovery obtained for ALV and PHA was 80.59% and 81.26%, respectively. Matrix effect,expressed as IS-normalized matrix factor ranged from 0.982 to 1.009 for both the analytes. The application of the method was demonstrated for the specific analysis of ALV and PHA for a bioequivalence study in 52 healthy subjects using 120 mg ALV capsules. The assay reproducibility was also verified by reanalysis of 175 incurred subject samples.

Manganese methionine hydroxy analog chelated affects growth performance,trace element deposition and expression of related transporters of broilers

The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of manganese methionine hydroxyl analog chelated(Mn-MHAC)as a manganese(Mn)source on growth performance and trace element deposition in broilers.A total of 432 Arbor Acres commercial female broilers were fed a basal corn-soybean diet containing Mn at 25.64 mg/kg diet for 10 d.They were then randomly assigned to 6 groups,including a control group(the basal diet),a Mn sulfate group(the basal diet supplemented with Mn at 100 mg/kg diet),and 4 Mn-MHAC groups(the basal diet supplemented with Mn-MHAC at 25,50,75 and 100 mg Mn/kg diet,respectively).The results showed that compared with the control group,groups supplemented with Mn-MHAC had a positive effect on BW(quadratic,P=0.017)and ADG(quadratic,P=0.017).Moreover,the Mn-MHAC(50 mg Mn/kg diet)group had significantly greater BW and ADG(P<0.05)compared with the other Mn-MHAC groups.Trace element deposition results also showed that tibial Mn increased(linear or quadratic,P-0.002 and 0.009,respectively)in groups fed diets with increased levels of Mn-MHAC.In contrast,Fe deposition decreased both in the heart(linear,P-0.020)and tibia(P<0.05).In addition,the Mn-MHAC supplement noticeably lowered serum Mn-SOD activity(linear or quadratic,P-0.048 and 0.019,respectively).The relative mRNA levels of divalent metal transporter 1(DMT1)(P=0.024),ferro-portin 1(FPN1)(P=0.049),and Cu transporter-1(CTR1)(P<0.001)in the duodenum,as well as CTR1 in the jejunum and ileum(P=0.040 and 0.011,respectively)were higher in the Mn-supplemented group than in the control group.Furthermore,the relative mRNA level of DMT1 in the jejunum and ileum of broilers in the Mn-MHAC group(50 mg Mn/kg diet)did not differ from those in the control group,but was lower than those in the Mn sulfate group(P<0.05).In conclusion,Mn-MHAC dietary supplementation improved the growth performance and trace element deposition in broilers.From this study,we recommend the opti-mum Mn-MHAC level to meet the Mn requirement of broilers is 50 to 75 mg Mn/kg diet.

Antioxidant response and bioavailability of methionine hydroxy analog relative to DL-methionine in broiler chickens

This study was designed to compare the effect of methionine(Met)sources(DL-methionine[DLM]and DL-2-hydroxy-4-methylthio-butanoic acid(HMTBa))and their supplementation levels on broiler growth performance and redox state.A 2 x 2 factorial arrangement was used with 2 sources(DLM and HMTBa)and 2 supplementation levels(0.05% and 0.252%)of Met.A total of 480 one-day-old broiler chicks were randomly divided into 4 treatments with 8 replicates per treatment(15 birds per replicate).The experiment lasted for 21 d.Broiler growth performance,redox capacity,redox-related genes expression,and Met transporters in different tissues were tested.Broilers fed high Met supplementation levels had improved(P<0.05)body weight(BW).average daily gain(ADG)and feed conversion ratio(FCR).Similarly,broilers fed high Met levels had better(P<0.05)antioxidant abilities in the serum,small intestine,and liver.Whereas,interactive effects(P<0.05)were also observed between Met sources and levels.Compared with DLM.birds fed HMTBa diets had decreased(P<0.05)total glutathione(T-GSH)and oxidized glutathione(GSSG)contents in duodenum,ileum,and liver.Similarly,broilers fed HMTBa supplemented diets had increased(P<0.05)thioredoxin(Trx)gene expression in the duodenum and ileum,but decreased(P<0.05)glutaredoxin(Grx).glutathione reductase(CSR).and glutathione synthetase(GSS)genes expression.Furthermore,lower gene expression of Na+ and Cl-dependent neutral and cationic amino acid transporter(ATB0,+).and Na+ dependent neutral amino acid transporter(B0 AT)in the duodenum brush border,but higher gene expression of diamine acetyltransferase 1(SAT1)and Na+-independent branched-chain and aromatic amino acid transporter(LAT1)in the jejunum and ileum basement membrane along with higher expression of the proton dependent monocarboxylate transporter 1(MCT1)gene in the ileum were detected in birds fed HMTBa diets.In conclusion.DLM can be effectively used in glutathione synthesis to exert antioxidant functions,whereas HMTBa favors S-adenosylmethionine(SAM)synthesis and thus stimulates antioxidant-related genes expression.

Synthesis of porous iron hydroxy phosphate from phosphate residue and its application as a Fenton-like catalyst for dye degradation

Phosphate residue is a kind of hazardous solid waste and if not properly disposed of, could cause serious environmental contaminations. The abundant iron salt available in phosphate residue can be used to prepare photo-Fenton catalytic reagent for wastewater treatment. In this study, the phosphate residue was effectively purified by a hydrothermal recrystallization method, reaching an iron phosphate purity of 94.2%. The particles of iron phosphate were further processed with ball milling with their average size reduced from 19.4 to 1.6 μm. By hydrothermal crystallization of iron phosphate and thermal decomposition of oxalate precursor, porous iron hydroxy phosphate was prepared. The modified porous iron hydroxy phosphate(m-PIHP) of higher surface area with iron oxalate on its surface can degrade 98.87% of Rhodamine B in 15 min. Cyclic experiment showed that the catalyst still had a good catalytic activity after six cycles( > 40%). The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the iron oxalate complex on the catalyst surface decomposed to produce ferrous ions and accelerated the rate of · OH production. The current work demonstrated that the m-PIHP synthesized from phosphate residue and modified with iron oxalate can be used as an effective dye wastewater treatment agent.
