From rich civilizational contact in the ancient time to modern uncertai...China and India relationship has emerged as an enigma for the international community who are unable to map the Sino-Indian bilateral engagement. From rich civilizational contact in the ancient time to modern uncertain relationship creates an enigma around India-China relationship. The beginning of the 21st century has opened up new possibilities that can redefine the international system based primarily on India-China relationship. The allusions are clear that the present century is going to be an Asian century in which India and China would play the defining role. At a different level,we see a renewed positive courtship between India and China that can be the beginning of the emergence of Sino-Indian cooperative international order. The current financial crisis that crippled most of the Western world could do little damage to India and China. This in a way provides an opportunity to both India and China to intensify their economic cooperation to provide improved living to their billion plus populations. But unfortunately the present India-China economic relationship seems to be,at best,reluctant engagement. Economists may have technical explanations to such reluctance from both sides but from international relations perspective this can be explained by relative gains taking precedence over absolute gains in their calculations of economic engagement. In this background the proposed paper seeks to delve into the factors that force both India and China to adopt a cautious policy vis-à-vis each other even in matters as benign as economy. The paper goes on to suggest graduated reciprocation as a method to intensify India-China economic cooperation.展开更多
A terminal ballistic analysis of the effects of 7.62 mm × 51 AP P80 rounds on inclined high-strength armor steel plates is the focus of the presented study.The findings of an instrumented ballistic testing combin...A terminal ballistic analysis of the effects of 7.62 mm × 51 AP P80 rounds on inclined high-strength armor steel plates is the focus of the presented study.The findings of an instrumented ballistic testing combined with 3D advanced numerical simulations performed using the IMPETUS Afea? software yielded the conclusions.The experimental verification proved that slight differences in the pitch-andyaw angles of a projectile upon an impact caused different damage types to the projectile’s core.The residual velocities predicted numerically were close to the experimental values and the calculated core deviations were in satisfactory agreement with the experimental results.An extended matrix of the core deviation angles with combinations of pitch-and-yaw upon impact angles was subsequently built on the basis of the numerical study.The presented experimental and numerical investigation examined thoroughly the influence of the initial pitch and yaw angles on the after-perforation projectile’s performance.展开更多
The laser-guided bomb(LGB)is an air-to-ground pre-cision-guided weapon that offers high hit rates,great power,and ease of use.LGBs are guided by semi-active laser ground-seek-ing technology,which means that atmospheri...The laser-guided bomb(LGB)is an air-to-ground pre-cision-guided weapon that offers high hit rates,great power,and ease of use.LGBs are guided by semi-active laser ground-seek-ing technology,which means that atmospheric conditions can affect their accuracy.The spatial release region(SRR)of LGBs is difficult to calculate precisely,especially when there is a poor field of view.This can result in a lower real hit probability.To increase the hit probability of LGBs in tough atmospheric situa-tions,a novel method for calculating the SRR has been pro-posed.This method is based on the transmittance model of the 1.06μm laser in atmospheric species and the laser diffuse reflection model of the target surface to determine the capture target time of the laser seeker.Then,it calculates the boundary ballistic space starting position by ballistic model and gets the spatial scope of the spatial release region.This method can determine the release region of LGBs based on flight test data such as instantaneous velocity,altitude,off-axis angle,and atmospheric visibility.By more effectively employing aircraft release conditions,atmospheric visibility and other factors,the SRR calculation method can improve LGB hit probabi-lity by 9.2%.展开更多
