Analysis and Design of Time-Delay Impulsive Systems Subject to Actuator Saturation

This paper investigates the exponential stability and performance analysis of nonlinear time-delay impulsive systems subject to actuator saturation. When continuous dynamics is unstable, under some conditions, it is shown that the system can be stabilized by a class of saturated delayed-impulses regardless of the length of input delays. Conversely, when the system is originally stable, it is shown that under some conditions, the system is robust with respect to sufficient small delayed-impulses. Moreover, the design problem of the controller with the goal of obtaining a maximized estimate of the domain of attraction is formulated via a convex optimization problem. Three examples are provided to demonstrate the validity of the main results. 展开更多

A whole impulsive control scheme of nonlinear systems with time-varying delays, which is an extension for impulsive control of nonlinear systems without time delay, is presented in this paper. Utilizing the Lyapunov functions and the impulsive-type comparison principles, we establish a series of different conditions under which impulsively controlled nonlinear systems with time-varying delays are asymptotically stable. Then we estimate upper bounds of impulse interval and time-varying delays for asymptotically stable control. Finally a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the method. 展开更多

As a result, many criteria for testing the stability of linear time-delay systems have been proposed. Significant progress has been made in the theory of impulsive systems and impulsive delay systems in recent years. However, the corresponding theory for uncertain impulsive systems and uncertain impulsive delay systems has not been fully developed. In this paper, robust stability criteria are established for uncertain linear delay impulsive systems by using Lyapunov function, Razumikhin techniques and the results obtained. Based on the constructed inequalities and the introduced delay-compensatory concept, sufficient stability and synchronization criteria for globally exponential synchronization of coupled neural networks are provided. To address the exponential synchronization problem in coupled neural networks. Utilizing delay-compensatory impulsive control and Razumikhin-type inequalities. There are many practical examples of impulsive control systems with delays, such as a chemical reactor system, a financial system with two state variables, the amount of money in a market and the savings rate of a central bank, and the growth of a population diffusing throughout its habitat modeled by a reaction-diffusion equation. In this paper we apply the Rothe’s Fixed Point Theorem to prove the interior approximate controllability of the following Benjamin Bona-Mohany(BBM) type equation with impulses and delay where and are constants, Ω is a domain in , ω is an open non-empty subset of Ω , denotes the characteristic function of the set ω , the distributed control , are continuous functions and the nonlinear functions are smooth enough functions satisfying some additional conditions. 展开更多

Capital injections with negative surplus and delays: models and analysis

This work develops a new model to deal with the scenario that some companies can still run business even the surplus falls below zero temporarily. With such a scenario in mind, we allow the surplus process to continue in this negative-surplus period, during which capital injections will be ordered to assist in the stabilization of financial structure, until the financial status becomes severe enough to file bankruptcy. The capital injections will be modeled as impulse controls. By introducing the capital injections with time delays, optimal dividend payment and capital injection policies are considered. Using the dynamic programming approach, the value function obeys a quasi-variational inequality. With delays in capital injections, the company will be exposed to the risk of bankruptcy during the delay period. In addition, the optimal dividend payment and capital injection strategies should balance the expected cost of the possible capital injections and the time value of the delay periods. This gives rise to a stochastic control problem with mixed singular and delayed impulse controls. Under general assumptions, the lower capital injection barrier is determined, where bankruptcy occurs. The closed-form solution to the value function and corresponding optimal policies are obtained. 展开更多
