Tallow tree seeds had good water permeability. We found that germination of cabbage seeds was inhibited when cabbage seeds were soaked in extracted solutions from tallow tree seed coat. Seed coat structure at the side of the radicle appeared to be a barrier to seed germination. We tested methods to break tallow tree seed dormancy. Dormancy of tallow tree seeds was overcome by soaking the seeds in 500 mg·L^-1 or 1000 mg·L^-1 GA3, followed by 100 days of cold stratification.展开更多

Methods: In vitro antibacterial activity of the aqueous and ethanol extract of the plant was investigated using the agar cup plate diffusion method. Results: The ethanol extract of the plant showed antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Streptococcus faecalis, Shigella dysenterme, Slaphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) , Salmonella sp. , Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Neisseria gonor-r/iaeae, while the water extract was active against Escherichia coli, Streptococcus faecalis, Shigella dysenterme, Sta-phylococcus aureus and. Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The etlianol extract exhibited higher antibacterial activity than the water extract. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal, concentration (MBC} of the ethanol extract were 0. 65 mg/mt and 0. 85 mg/ml, respectively , against S. aureus. Treatment of the extract at higher temperature, 60℃ increased the sensitivity of the test organisms to the plant extract. Phytochemical analysis indicated t/tat the plant possesses tannins, saponins as well as phenols. Conclusion: A scientific basis exists that the plant possesses antibacterial activity and it could be a probable source of therapeutic agent.展开更多

The effect of state-independent immigration-migration is firstly in- vestigated in detail. The explicit expressions for the extinction probabilities and mean extinction times are presented. The ergodicity and stability properties of the process incorporating with resurrection structure are then investigated. The conditions for recurrence, ergodicity and exponential ergodicity are obtained. An explicit expression for the equilibrium distribution is also presented. As a preparation, the criteria for regularity and uniqueness for such structure are firstly established.展开更多
