Curative effect observation on deformed auricle treated with EarWell Infant Ear Correction System with modular parents'nursing education 被引量:2

Objective:To investigate the efficacy and patient satisfaction of the EarWell Infant Ear Correction System combined with modular parents'nursing education's curative effect on deformed auricle.Methods:A total of 42 patients(29 boys and 13 girls;73 ears;age≤3 months)with auricle deformities who had received EarWell Infant Ear Correction System's treatment and modular parents'nursing education in Guangzhou Children and Women's Medical Center between April and October 2018.The modular parents'education program is standardized by EarWell system.Physician and patients'parents compared the severity of auricle deformity separately before and after the treatment by using the auricle deformities visual analogue scales(VAS)rating system.Patient satisfaction was evaluated by using global aesthetic improvement scale(GAIS).The data collected of auricle deformities VAS and GAIS satisfaction score were applied to measure the treatment's effectiveness.Results:All the 42 patients(73 external ears)completed the treatment with EarWell Infant Ear Correction System and modular parents'nursing education.The mean age at initiation of treatment was 37.87±19.44 days and the therapeutic time span was 47.21±17.36 days.At the end of treatment,the physician's and patients'guardians rating of the severity of auricle deformity were significantly improved separately compared to the initial rating(8.33±1.27 vs.6.51±0.84;P<0.005)(5.77±1.59 vs.8.19±2.38 P<0.05).During the treatment and parents'home nursing care period,the side effect and complications were minor like skin eczema and irrigation;there were no severe complications such as necrosis of the skin and cartilage.The patient tolerance for the treatment was acceptable with the adequate parents'nursing care.Most patients'guardians were satisfied with the treatment outcomes of EarWell Infant Ear Correction System with more engagement of nursing care,the GAIS's rating were increased from pretreatment stage's 26.19%to treatment completed stage's 90.48%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:In this study,we proved that EarWell Infant Ear Correction System with its unique parents'modular nursing care education,as a noninvasive treatment,reasonably improved auricle morphological malformation,and patients'guardians satisfaction with few complications,which is worthy of a wildly clinical promotion. 展开更多

With our country’s social development,the gap between urban and rural education has become increasingly obvious,especially the difference in student achievement.This study aims to explore the impact of the urban-rural education gap on student achievement.The study adopts a quantitative analysis method to collect and analyze the academic performance,learning resources,and social resources of urban and rural students.The results show that the unbalanced distribution of educational resources in urban and rural areas is the key factor leading to the gap in students’achievement.For example,urban education resources are abundant while rural education resources are relatively scarce.At the same time,the difference in social environment and family economic status also have a significant impact on student achievement.The differences between urban and rural areas,particularly in terms of family economic conditions and their ability to invest in education,further widen the gap between urban and rural education.The results of this study can provide a reference for reducing the gap between urban and rural education and improving the academic performance of rural students.A fair education policy is essential to narrow the gap between urban and rural education resources distribution,so as to improve the equality of education in society. 展开更多

Furthermore, it strives to improve nursing care for families whose children have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM). Design: This research study investigates the efficacy of diabetes education in empowering individuals with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) and their families to effectively handle the condition. Materials and Methods: A systematic search was conducted between the years 2000 and 2022, utilizing the Medline and Google Scholar databases. The purpose of the search was to uncover relevant papers pertaining to diabetes education, management of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM), nurse care, and empowerment. The search focused on peer-reviewed research, clinical trials, and scholarly articles that evaluated the efficacy of diabetes education in empowering individuals and families. Results: Diabetes education is crucial for understanding and controlling T1DM. It includes personalized sessions, webinars, group classes, and clinics that provide customized therapies. Comprehensive education enhances glycemic control and family dynamics. Nevertheless, the implementation of diabetes education for families requires specific standards, especially in the field of nursing. Conclusion: Diabetes education is essential for effectively managing Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM), providing patients and families with crucial knowledge, resources, and confidence. Objective: This study aimed to explore the experiences of women in the process of formula feeding their infants. The World Health Organization has emphasized the importance of breastfeeding for infant health. After decades of breastfeeding promotions,breastfeeding rates in Hong Kong have been rising consistently; however, the low continuation rate is alarming. This study explores women's experiences with formula feeding their infants, including factors affecting their decision to do so.Methods: A qualitative approach using an interpretative phenomenological analysis(IPA) was adopted as the study design. Data were collected from 2014 to 2015 through individual in-depth unstructured interviews with 16 women, conducted between 3 and 12 months after the birth of their infant. Data were analyzed using IPA.Results: Three main themes emerged as follows:(1) self-struggle, with the subthemes of feeling like a milk cow and feeling trapped;(2) family conflict, with the subtheme of sharing the spotlight; and(3) interpersonal tensions, with the subthemes of embarrassment,staring, and innocence. Many mothers suffered various stressors and frustrations during breastfeeding. These findings suggest a number of pertinent areas that need to be considered in preparing an infant feeding campaign.Conclusions: The findings of this study reinforce our knowledge of women's struggles with multiple sources of pressure, such as career demands, childcare demands, and family life after giving birth. All mothers should be given assistance in making informed decisions about the optimal approach to feeding their babies given their individual situation and be provided with support to pursue their chosen feeding method. 展开更多

Smoking is a major health problem in many countries. It has been reported on the effects of education on youth with a reduced smoking rate and developed awareness of avoiding smoking verified as a result of educational intervention. The aim of this study was to verify the relationship between sex, school age, and family smoking and the effectiveness of smoking prevention education program (SPEP) as factors that impact the effectiveness of SPEP in elementary school and junior high school students. The participants in this survey were 6676 students, who attended elementary and junior high schools in Tokushima Prefecture between 2011 and 2015, and attended the SPEP. As factors that influence the effectiveness of the SPEP, we examined school types, sex, smokers in the family. Participants were asked the following questions before and after the SPEP to measure awareness of and attitudes toward smoking: “intention not to smoke cigarettes as adults”, “intention to refuse cigarettes when offered”, “attitude of staying away from smokers”, and “desire that their family will not smoke”. The number of survey collected was 6676, with effective responses from 5974 (90%). Among the 5974, there were 2963 (50%) males and 3011 (50%) females, 5106 elementary school students (86%), and 868 junior high school students (15%). In the case of smoker mother, it was difficult to improve these children’s “intention not to smoke as adults”, “intention to refuse cigarettes when offered”, and smoker father, it was difficult to improve these children’s “attitude of staying away from smokers”, and “desire that their family will not smoke”. Especially, in the case of smoker parents, it was particularly difficult for the SPEP to be effective in improving awareness of and attitudes toward smoking among elementary and junior high school students. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a common autoimmune disease.Nursing education for family caregivers is considered a workable and effective intervention,but the validity of this intervention in RA has not been reported.AIM To explore whether family caregiver nursing education(FCNE)works on patients with RA and the factors that influence FCNE.METHODS In this randomized controlled study,a sample of 158 pairs was included in the study with 80 in the intervention group and 78 in the control group.Baseline data of patients and caregivers was collected.The FCNE intervention was admi-nistered to caregivers,and inflammation level indicators,disease activity indicators and mood disorder indicators of patients were followed up and analyzed.RESULTS Baseline characteristics of the intervention and the control groups had no significant difference.Indicators were significantly reduced in the intervention group compared to the control group.The intervention group showed significant differences in stratification of relationship,education duration and age.CONCLUSION The effect of FCNE on RA is multifaceted,weakening inflammation level,alleviating disease activity and relieving mood disorder.Relationship between caregiver and patient,caregiver’s education level and patient’s age may act as impact factors of FCNE. 展开更多

With the development of Chinese society and economy, the importance of family education of children grows more and more significant. But because of cultural traditions, lifestyle, social customs, ideas and sense of heritage, family education in China is still a weak part. The traditional concept of family education is being challenged. And many parents lack understanding of physiological and psychological development of the children during their growth, and lack proper education and effective methods to face the different stages of children's development. Consequently, parents tend to miss crucial educational opportunities. With different history, culture and social economic conditions between China and America, the formations of family education are producing a huge impact. American high level of culture and education also determines the United States the world leader in science and technology. The US has not only advanced school education but advanced family education, and their advanced educational concepts and teaching approaches are in line so that we can learn from American family education in a lot of places.Through questionnaire investigation and contrastive analysis, this thesis studies the differences between Chinese and American family educational approaches by three main aspects of intellectual education, moral and physical education, and life education. Firstly, this thesis discusses the reasons on the historical and cultural backgrounds and social conditions. Then this thesis describes the specific performance including the different status and contents, the comparison of parenting methods. In the end, this thesis has a brief summary of advantages and disadvantages of Chinese and American family educational approaches. This thesis tries to briefly describes and compares the intellectual education, moral and physical education and life education. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is in order to improve the quality of our family education. By studying the differences of family educational style between China and America, we do not mean to belittle our Chinese family education but is a kind of reflection.
