The Information Integration of CAPP in CIMS

This paper analyzes the flow of the process design an d the fountain of the technique data in a manufacturing enterprise, and discusse s the information flows between CAPP and other systems in CIMS, such as CAD syst em and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. And then, it discusses the pla ns of information integration between CAPP and CAD, as well as between CAPP and ERP. To design the processes of a product requires the manufacture information, such as blank material and machine tool, which is saved in a database in ERP. General ly, a traditional CAPP system considers the information of the manufacturing res ources, such as machine tool, as changeless. However, it is real changing, becau se the resources may be occupied or the machine tool may be under repair. Theref ore, in order to design the processes more reasonably, we must consider the real change of resources in a workshop. Creating a public resource database to suppo rt the real change of resources is put forward in this paper. With the public re source database, the resource integration between CAPP system and ERP is realize d; and by information collections in CAPP system, such as BOM, the material cons umption and man-hour consumption and their output to ERP, the information integ ration between CAPP system and ERP is realized.

Business and financial information integration and voluntary management earnings forecasts

In this study,the impact of business and financial information integration(BFⅡ)on the voluntary management earnings forecasts(VMEFs)of listed firms in China between 2008 and 2018 is investigated.Drawing on litigation cost and ability signaling theories,we find that the adoption of BFⅡencourages top managers to disclose VMEFs.BFⅡfirms are identified through the textual analysis of management discussion and analysis(MD&A)reports,and the empirical results indicate that BFⅡfirms have a higher probability and frequency of issuing VMEFs than non-BFⅡfirms.The results remain robust after we identify causality by applying a propensity score matching and difference-in-differences(PSM-DID)test and use an alternate measure of BFⅡ.Further tests show that BFⅡfirms issue more accurate VMEFs and are able to issue them at an earlier stage.We also find that the positive relationship between BFⅡand VMEFs is weakened if the media expresses concern about the uncertainty of BFⅡadoption.

Integration and development of energy and information network in the Pan-Arctic region

The Global Energy Interconnection is an important strategic approach used to achieve efficient worldwide energy allocation.The idea of developing integrated power,information,and transportation networks provides increased power interconnection functionality and meaning,helps condense forces,and accelerates the integration of global infrastructure.Correspondingly,it is envisaged that it will become the trend of industrial technological development in the future.In consideration of the current trend of integrated development,this study evaluates a possible plan of coordinated development of fiber-optic and power networks in the Pan-Arctic region.Firstly,the backbone network architecture of Global Energy Interconnection is introduced and the importance of the Arctic energy backbone network is confirmed.The energy consumption and developmental trend of global data centers are then analyzed.Subsequently,the global network traffic is predicted and analyzed by means of a polynomial regression model.Finally,in combination with the current construction of fiber-optic networks in the Pan-Arctic region,the advantages of the integration of the fiber-optic and power networks in this region are clarified in justification of the decision for the development of a Global Energy Interconnection scheme.

THE CLIMATIC STUDY OF CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN BY INTEGRATION OF REMOTE SENSING INFORMATION AND GEO-CODED IMAGES

Ⅰ. INTRODUCTION Changbai Mountain is situated between E127°54′-128°08′, N40°58′-42°06′ about 2700 meters above sea level. It is the typical area of the mountainous climate in the monsoon area of the temperate zone on the globe. The well reserved primeval vertical distribution of natural landscape belts and the Natural Conservation of Changbai Mountains adopted by the UNESCO′s MAB Program cause the worldwide attention of geographers. Beside the complexity of the climatic structure itself, the mechanical effection of the high mountain body also effect the climate in the eastern part of China. In the mountain area where short of meteorological observation data, the climatic study by remote sensing is favorable for discovery and representation of climatic law in large area.

Mechanism of Cross-modal Information Influencing Taste

Studies on the integration of cross-modal information with taste perception has been mostly limited to uni-modal level.The cross-modal sensory interaction and the neural network of information processing and its control were not fully explored and the mechanisms remain poorly understood.This mini review investigated the impact of uni-modal and multi-modal information on the taste perception,from the perspective of cognitive status,such as emotion,expectation and attention,and discussed the hypothesis that the cognitive status is the key step for visual sense to exert influence on taste.This work may help researchers better understand the mechanism of cross-modal information processing and further develop neutrally-based artificial intelligent(AI)system.

Evaluating ChatGPT’s Consciousness and Its Capability to Pass the Turing Test: A Comprehensive Analysis

This study explores the capabilities of ChatGPT, specifically in relation to consciousness and its performance in the Turing Test. The article begins by examining the diverse perspectives among both the cognitive and AI researchers regarding ChatGPT’s ability to pass the Turing Test. It introduces a hierarchical categorization of the test versions, suggesting that ChatGPT approaches success in the test, albeit primarily with na?ve users. Expert users, conversely, can easily identify its limitations. The paper presents various theories of consciousness, with a particular focus on the Integrated Information Theory proposed by Tononi. This theory serves as the framework for assessing ChatGPT’s level of consciousness. Through an evaluation based on the five axioms and theorems of IIT, the study finds that ChatGPT surpasses previous AI systems in certain aspects;however, ChatGPT significantly falls short of achieving a level of consciousness, particularly when compared to biological sentient beings. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of recognizing ChatGPT and similar generative AI models as highly advanced and intelligent tools, yet distinctly lacking the consciousness attributes found in advanced living organisms.

Study of Enterprise Equipment Maintenance Management Integrated Information System Based on B/S

Equipment maintenance management integrated information system is an important constituent part of enterprise IMS Intelligent Manufacture System). The system should make the best of all kinds of information sources around the enterprise, and meet the demand for agile production. This paper presents an implementation scheme of Integrated Equipment Maintenance Management Information System Based on Internet/Intranet and gives component division scheme of each tier. This scheme adopts a three-tiers mode of B/S Browser/Server) and software programming module based on software reusing technology. This makes the system integrated and open, makes maintenance and updating convenient, and largely increases software safety and reusability.

Integrated Maintenance Information System and its Applications

Based on the detailed analysis for the process of modern aviation maintenance and its technical information support, this paper describes the maintenance information as an integrated one with hierarchical feature, and presents the concept, principle, and the architecture of Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS). Finally, this paper discusses some promising functions on the environment of integrated maintenance information, including the interactive electronic technical manuals, dynamic diagnostic aids, remote parts orders and maintenance management decision-making, etc.

Cases studies of application of model-informed drug development in early phase clinical trials

Model-informed drug develop⁃ment(MIDD)is the application of a various math⁃ematical,statistical,and biological models to facilitate drug development,decision making and regulatory review.As a quantitative tool,MIDD approaches allow an integration of information obtained from non-clinical studies and clinical trials in a drug development program.General understandings of the underlying biology,patho⁃physiology,and pharmacology can also be incor⁃porated into the model.MIDD is centered on knowledge and inferences generated from inte⁃grated models of the physicochemical character⁃istics of a molecule,its disposition in the body,and its mechanism of action,and how the drug might affect a disease from both an efficacy and a safety perspective.MIDD approaches have the potential to significantly streamline drug develop⁃ment,by improving clinical trial efficiency,opti⁃mizing dose and regimen and waive unneces⁃sary clinical studies.This presentation will use cases studies to demonstrate how to apply MIDD in early phase of clinical trials.

Development of an Integrated System to Enhance Spatial Data Processing & Management for Planning Authorities

In a world where there is constant data generation and processing, the need for an integrated system cannot be overemphasized. The systems that enable storage of large amounts of spatial data and must be made available to multiple users in real time. Studies have shown that standalone desktop spatial systems are often rigid and inflexible to support multiple data processing or demands from multiple users. The integrated spatial management system was designed to address the above highlighted challenges by bringing enhanced possibilities of utilization of spatial data though improving accessibility, visualization, and processing spatial information. The present work employed a mixed approach of qualitative and quantitative techniques to obtain the desired result. Qualitative data collection tools were used to collect field data required to design the prototype. The research sought to establish whether the integrated systems are in use by the targeted institutions, the findings highlighted that 71.4% have no integrated spatial data systems while 28.6% have partial-integrated systems. An overview of the architecture of integrated spatial systems consists of a well distributed database linked to multiple tools and platforms to query both the spatial and non-spatial data. The WEB-GIS and Mobile GIS interfaces were developed to allow multiple users to access information through the web in real time and data collection, respectively.

Effect of rotary motion on Fos protein expression in the vestibular-related nucleus population in a mouse model of rapid retinal degeneration

BACKGROUND: Previous studies on integration mechanisms of visual and vestibular information in the central nervous system have focused on the vestibular system. Due to the lack of an appropriate animal model, few studies have addressed the visual system with regard to visual and vestibular information. OBJECTIVE: To investigate Fos protein expression differences of vestibular-related nucleus populations in a mouse model of rapid retinal degeneration and normal wild-type Kunming mice following rotary motion, and to verify integration regions of visual and vestibular information in the central nervous system. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled in vitro study was performed at the Key Laboratory of Aerospace Medicine of Ministry of Education, China from March 2008 to February 2009. MATERIALS: A rotary stimulation device was re-fit to an electric, rotating chair produced by the School of Aerospace Medicine, the Fourth Military Medical University. METHODS: A total of 12 rapid retinal degeneration mice and 12 normal wild-type male Kunming mice were randomly assigned to experimental and control subgroups, respectively (n = 6). Mice in the experimental group were exposed to rotary motion at a speed of 180°/s, 3 minutes per cycle, in an alternating clockwise/counterclockwise movement. Mice in the control group were not exposed to rotary motion. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Differences in the number of Fos-positive neurons were determined in the vestibular nucleus, prepositus hypoglossal nucleus, inferior olive subnucleus beta, Kooy cap of the inferior olive medial nucleus, and the flocculus and paraflocculus of the cerebellum in rapid retinal degeneration mice and normal wild-type Kunming mice. RESULTS: The number of Fos-positive neurons was reduced in the prepositus hypoglossal nucleus and the Kooy cap of the inferior olive medial nucleus in the rapid retinal degeneration mice following 30 minutes of rotary motion in the experimental group, compared with the normal wild-type Kunming mice (P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in Fos protein expression in the vestibular nucleus, inferior olive subnucleus beta, and the flocculus and paraflocculus of the cerebellum between the rapid retinal degeneration mice and normal wild-type Kunming mice. CONCLUSION: Visual information affected neuronal activation in the prepositus hypoglossal nucleus and the Kooy cap of the inferior olive medial nucleus in mice following rotary motion. The prepositus hypoglossal nucleus and the dorsal cap of Kooy of inferior olive medial nucleus were shown to be key integration regions of visual information and vestibular information in the central nervous system.

An ethics assessment list for geoinformation ecosystems: revisiting the integrated geospatial information framework of the United Nations

To achieve sustainable development goals,georeferenced data and geographic information systems play a crucial role.Yet,the way in which these data and systems are summoned upon rests on positivist assumptions which overlook both epistemological and ethical concerns.This is epitomized by the integrated geospatial information framework(IGIF)of the United Nations,which,from the perspective of sustainable development,aims to provide guidance for the management of geoinformation and related tools,considering these as mirrors of the physical world.In this respect,the article has three main goals.First,it delivers an epistemological and ethical critique of the IGIF,by highlighting its internal tensions.Second,it suggests how the IGIF and similar geoinformation initiatives can benefit from an ethical reflection that allows to conduct georeferenced practices in a fair(er)way.Third,it designs an ethics assessment list for self-evaluating the ethical robustness of geoinformation initiatives as ecosystems.

Research on Marine Structure Inspection Support System on Mobile Device Platform

Ship and offshore structure often work in very severe environment.Therefore routine inspection and maintenance are essential to keep ship structure and equipment in good state,and can decrease the possibility of sea pollution and safety problems.Besides that,the activity of inspection and maintenance is also directly connected with cost control and condition assessment.Current inspection is still mainly based on paper and pen,so it is rather time-consuming for transferring inspection data from paper to computer system,and more diffcult to make calculation based on the inspection records.In this paper,the concept of information integration model and inspection support system using mobile device is introduced.The structuralized data in the information integration model offer much convenience to data transferring.The inspection support system consists of one headquarter management subsystem and one inspector handling subsystem.A mechanism of data exchange between the two subsystems is developed based on standard inspection workflow.The headquarter subsystem works on computer,and the inspector subsystem is mobile application instead of paper and pen.Versatile tests and platform experiments are carried out to demonstrate and confirm the feasibility and validity.

TIST: Transcriptome and Histopathological Image Integrative Analysis for Spatial Transcriptomics

Sequencing-based spatial transcriptomics(ST)is an emerging technology to study in situ gene expression patterns at the whole-genome scale.Currently,ST data analysis is still complicated by high technical noises and low resolution.In addition to the transcriptomic data,matched histopathological images are usually generated for the same tissue sample along the ST experiment.The matched high-resolution histopathological images provide complementary cellular phenotypical information,providing an opportunity to mitigate the noises in ST data.We present a novel ST data analysis method called transcriptome and histopathological image integrative analysis for ST(TIST),which enables the identification of spatial clusters(SCs)and the enhancement of spatial gene expression patterns by integrative analysis of matched transcriptomic data and images.TIST devises a histopathological feature extraction method based on Markov random field(MRF)to learn the cellular features from histopathological images,and integrates them with the transcriptomic data and location information as a network,termed TIST-net.Based on TIST-net,SCs are identified by a random walk-based strategy,and gene expression patterns are enhanced by neighborhood smoothing.We benchmark TIST on both simulated datasets and 32 real samples against several state-of-the-art methods.Results show that TIST is robust to technical noises on multiple analysis tasks for sequencing-based ST data and can find interesting microstructures in different biological scenarios.TIST is available at http://lifeome.net/software/tist/and https://ngdc.cncb.ac.cn/biocode/tools/BT007317.

An evolving trajectory-from PD,logistics,SCM to the theory of material flow

The growing interest in the material flow(MF)theory has invoked much interesting research in recent years.Although the MF theory is relatively new,a review of the related literature from a historical perspective shows that MF theory represents a new stage of the evolutionary development of interrelated subjects such as Physical Distribution(PD),Logistics,and Supply Chain Management(SCM).The purpose of this paper is to provide a summative review of the evolution of the subjects of PD,Logistics,and SCM,and their new development,MF theory.The paper aims at tracing how concepts and findings in PD,Logistics,SCM,and MF have been developed and have evolved.The study shows that PD evolved to Logistics in middle of the 1980s;starting from the late 1990s,Logistics has evolved to SCM;and today PD,Logistics,and SCM can be considered to be under the umbrella provided by a new theory called MF theory.This paper points out that MF theory is a necessity to deal with the overwhelming complexity of material flow systems in the global economy of the twenty-first century.
