Research on the Cultivation of Innovative Ability and Comprehensive Quality of International Translation Talent Serving National Strategy

Based on the value orientation of international translation talent as well as the present situation of personnel training in the context of national development strategy,this article offers a profound analysis for the talent on the training methods of innovative ability and comprehensive quality.Innovative talent that has a strong sense of social responsibility as well as the ability of directly participating in international activities should be fostered,so as to meet the need for economic developments and to better serve national economic construction.

Cultivate Innovative and Entrepreneurial Qualities among Medical Students through Curriculum Ideology and Politics

As the main body of promoting the development of medical science and technology, medical students play an extremely important role in promoting the construction of new medical science. New medicine is a new concept based on the development of traditional medicine, breaking the discipline barrier, aiming to cultivate composite talents, taking reality as the orientation, and combining with the Internet, big data and artificial intelligence. Cultivating medical students’ innovation and entrepreneurship literacy is not only the internal need of the construction of innovative medical talents in new medical sciences, but also the development need of promoting the optimization of medical disciplines and effectively promoting the construction of an innovative country. As the main place for training medical talents, medical colleges and universities should integrate classroom ideology and politics with the new medical background to improve medical students’ professional knowledge, professional ethics, humanistic quality and scientific and technological quality, promote the cultivation of medical students’ innovative spirit, and further innovate medical theories, technologies and concepts. It lays a solid foundation for cultivating top medical talents with both innovative thinking and cultural self-confidence and building an innovative country.

Analyst Coverage,Forecasting Bias,and Corporate Innovation:Evidence from China

Due to information asymmetry and strategic innovation,firms often encounter challenges related to insufficient driving forces and low-quality innovation outcomes.Analysts always act as information intermediaries who help foster the advancement of corporate innovation activities and the conversion of innovation output.This study examines the impact of analyst coverage and forecasting bias on corporate innovation,employing data from China A-shared listed firms spanning the period 2007 to 2019.We measure corporate innovation from two perspectives:Input and output.Specifically,we use the ratio of research and development(R&D)expenditure to sales as a proxy for the innovation input and the number of patent citations excluding self-citations to measure innovation output.We find that analyst coverage promotes corporate innovation,which is consistent with the“bright”side of analyst coverage.However,the positive effect of analyst coverage hinges on effectively transmitting and disclosing accurate information to investors in the capital market.Based on this,analysts'forecasting bias includes forecasting dispersion and optimism bias.We find evidence that an increase in analysts'forecast dispersion leads to a decrease in corporate innovation quality.Moreover,this paper presents a novel approach by employing the regression discontinuity method to examine the effect of analyst optimistic bias on firm innovation.The empirical findings reveal that overly optimistic forecasts by analysts exacerbate innovation quality.These analyses enrich the research on analyst coverage and corporate innovation,providing an empirical basis for improving the capital market with the help of analysts.

A Quad Model for Assessing Innovation Potential:Toward a Theory of Innovation Orchestration Quality

The study draws on the prevalent theories for orchestrating cross-organizational innovation and new knowledge development processes,and proposes a new,epistemic perspective for contextualizing innovation with two management dimensions,namely,innovation complexity and innovation orchestration preconditions.Innovation complexity concerns the indeterminacy or contingency of new knowledge,or new competence,to be pursued during the course of organizational innovation.Innovation orchestration preconditions refer to the contextual innovation prerequisites that should be well meshed with one another to provide a sufficiency for innovation success.The preconditions include innovation units’structures and connectivity,behavior,and convenorship.The two dimensions describe a context map-an antithetic quad model-to imply four innovation orchestration qualities,namely,coherence,cohesiveness,congruence,and concordance.Based on the quad model,the study sets forth a measurement of the four qualities,which can assess innovation potential.To corroborate the quad model and the corresponding quality measurements,the study discursively observes a cross-sectoral innovation project.The observation results evidence the multi-finality of the four qualities for innovation success.The results reveal that it is necessary for these four qualities to be managed temporally and dynamically at different stages of innovation,and reject a fallacy that any one of these qualities is more necessary than the others.The study posits that if innovation units can be convened in accordance with the four qualities,the likelihood of innovation success will be sufficiently increased.The study finally discusses theoretical and practical implications of orchestration and convenorship.

Optimal technology licensing contract with quality improvement innovation under Cournot competition

This paper analyzes the optimal licensing contract for the patentor with a quality improvement innovation in a Cournot duopoly market.We examine and compare three licensing contracts(fixed-fee licensing,royalty licensing,and two-part ad valorem licensing)in terms of the patent-holding firm’s profit,consumer surplus,and social welfare.We also study the impact of quality differences on the choice of licensing contract.One might expect that consumer surplus and social welfare are greater under fixed-fee licensing.However,we show that this conclusion seems to be untrue under quality improvement technology licensing.Moreover,we find that(1)there exists a threshold for the degree of quality difference above which fixed-fee licensing will be listed for the consideration of the patent-holding firm and below which it will be abandoned;(2)royalty licensing and two-part ad valorem licensing are always profitable for the patentholding firm and two-part ad valorem licensing brings the patentee the most profit.
