A Novel Polymorphic Topology with Hybrid Control Strategy Based LLC Resonant Converter for Ultra-Wide Input Voltage Range Applications

To realize effective utilization of renewable energy sources,a novel polymorphic topology with hybrid control strategy based LLC resonant converter was analyzed and designed in this paper.By combining the merits of a full bridge LLC resonant converter,three-level half bridge LLC resonant converter,and variable frequency control mode,the converter realizes an intelligent estimation of input voltage by automatically changing its internal cir-cuit topology.Under this control strategy,different input voltages determine different operation modes.This is achieved in full bridge LLC mode when the input voltage is low.If the input voltage rises to a certain level,it operates in three-level half bridge LLC mode.These switches are digital and entirely carried out by the DSP(Digi-tal Signal Processor),which means that an auxiliary circuit is unnecessary,where a simple strategy of software modification can be utilized.Experimental results of a 500W prototype with 100V~600V input voltage and full load efficiency of up to 92%are developed to verify feasibility and practicability.This type of converter is suitable for applications with an ultra-wide input voltage range,such as wind turbines,photovoltaic generators,bioenergy,and other renewable energy sources. 展开更多

This paper proposes a new variable-mode control strategy that is applicable for LLC resonant converters operating in a wide input voltage range. This control strategy incorporates advantages from full-bridge LLC resonant converters, half-bridge LLC resonant converters, variable-frequency control mode, and phase-shift control mode. Under this control strategy, different input voltages determine the different operating modes of the circuit. When the input voltage is very low, it works in a full-bridge circuit and variable frequency mode(FB_VF mode). When the input voltage rises to a certain level, it shifts to a full-bridge circuit and phase-shifting control mode(FB_PS mode). When the input voltage further increases, it shifts into a half-bridge circuit and variable frequency mode(HB_VF mode). Such shifts are enabled by the digital signal processor(DSP), which means that no auxiliary circuit is needed, just a modification of the software. From light load to heavy load, the primary MOSFET for the LLC resonant converter can realize zero-voltage switching(ZVS), and the secondary rectifier diode can realize zero-current switching(ZCS). With an LLC resonant converter prototype with a 300 W rated power and a 450 V output voltage, as well as a resonant converter with 20–120 V input voltage, the experiments verified the proposed control strategy. Experimental results showed that under this control strategy, the maximum converter efficiency reaches 95.7% and the range of the input voltage expands threefold. 展开更多

Multi-modular boost haft bridge DC-DC converter in the configuration of input series output parallel has been investigated in this paper. The boost half bridge DC-DC converters are connected in input series output parallel con- figuration in order to achieve equal input voltage sharing and output current sharing between the con- verters. This can be achieved with the help of dynamic control scheme which consists of two loops, a voltage loop and a current loop, for each module. Dynamic behavior of multi-modular converter configuration has been observe by varying the load condition. Moreover, the results obtained through multi-modular converter describe that the system has good dynamic and steady state response. The three-phase bridge inverter is used as the converter topology in the power controller for a 9 kW doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) motor. Compared with common three-phase bridge inverters, the proposed inverter works under more complicated conditions with different principles for special winding back EMFs, position signals of hall sensors, and the given mode of switches. The ideal steady driving principles of the inverter for the motor are given. The working state with asymmetric winding back EMFs, inaccurate position signals of hall sensors, and the changing input voltage is analyzed. Finally, experimental results vertify that the given anal ysis is correct. 展开更多

When boost power factor correction(PFC) circuit works with large scale load fluctuations, it is easy to cause a higher total harmonic distortion and a lower power factor because of traditional controllers and inductor current mode. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a PFC control system, which can operate with load fluctuations up to 1 000 W by using duty cycle feed-forward control theory to achieve smooth switching mode. The duty cycles in the next period of the control system are pre-estimated in the current cycle, which enhances the speeds of AD samplers and switching frequency, and reduces the cost and volume of the equipment to some extent. Introductions of system decoupling and feed-forward of input-voltage greatly improve the system performance. Both theoretical simulation and experimental results prove the advantage of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

The proposed structure provides the following advantageous features: 1) independent control of oscillation frequency and condition of oscillation and 2) low active and passive sensitivities. The effects of non-idealities of the VD-DIBA on the proposed oscillator have also been investigated. The proposed SRC sinusoidal oscillator has been checked for robustness using Monte-Carlo simulation. This paper presents a fuzzy adaptive sliding mode controller(FASMC)for electrically driven wheeled mobile robot for trajectory tracking task in the presence of uncertainties and disturbances.First,a finite-time kinematic controller is developed to compute the auxiliary velocity vector.Second,the FASMC,based on the nonlinear dynamic model of the robot and its actuators,is used to guarantee the stability and the convergence of the closed-loop system.Moreover,by employing the advantages of the fuzzy logic systems,the developed controller ensures the robustness of the system against dynamic disturbances and uncertainties,the smoothness of the computing voltage against the chattering phenomenon,and the optimal convergence of the velocity and posture errors.The Lyapunov theory is used to analyse the stability of this algorithm.In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed method,numerical simulations are done in the Mahlab/Simulink environment. 展开更多

Micro-forging(MF)is a novel surface modification technology which is capable of smoothening and strengthening the workpiece surface simultaneously.Based on analysis of the mechanism and energy conversion of micro-forging process,an electromagnetically driven microforging system is developed.To further grasp the kinetic characteristic of the equipment,a simulation model is established and its accuracy is verified.With the help of simulation and experimental results,we propose an input voltage optimization method,which drives the micro-forging head moving in a uniform and stable way.In this study,the influence of MF on surface integrity of Ti-6 Al-4 V(TC4)is firstly reported.Experimental results show that MF treatment reduces surface roughness(Ra)and increases micro-hardness by 48%and 11.8%at most,respectively.Besides,a compressive stress layer with an amplitude of-1000 MPa and a depth of 0.8 mm is observed.This study analyzes the performance and reveals the potential of micro-forging technology,which lays a solid foundation for expanding its application in TC4 surface modification. 展开更多
