Contraction Integrated Semigroups and Their Applicationto Continuous-time Markov Chains

We introduce the notion of the contraction integrated semigroups and give the Lumber-Phillips characterization of the generator, and also the charaterazied generators of isometric integrated semigroups. For their application, a necessary and sufficient condition for q-matrices Q generating a contraction integrated semigroup is given, and a necessary and sufficient condition for a transition function to be a Feller-Reuter-Riley transition function is also given in terms of its q-matrix.

GNSS receiver autonomous integrity monitoring(RAIM)algorithm based on robust estimation

Integrity is significant for safety-of-life applications. Receiver autonomous integrity monitoring（RAIM） has been developed to provide integrity service for civil aviation. At first,the conventional RAIM algorithm is only suitable for single fault detection, single GNSS constellation. However, multiple satellite failure should be considered when more than one satellite navigation system are adopted. To detect and exclude multi-fault, most current algorithms perform an iteration procedure considering all possible fault model which lead to heavy computation burden. An alternative RAIM is presented in this paper based on multiple satellite constellations（for example, GPS and Bei Dou（BDS） etc.） and robust estimation for multi-fault detection and exclusion, which can not only detect multi-failures,but also control the influences of near failure observation. Besides, the RAIM algorithm based on robust estimation is more efficient than the current RAIM algorithm for multiple constellation and multiple faults. Finally, the algorithm is tested by GPS/Bei Dou data.

FIRST INTEGRALS AND INTEGRAL INVARIANTS FOR VARIABLE MASS NONHOLONOMIC SYSTEM IN NONINERTIAL REFERENCE FRAMES

The first integrals and their conditions of existence for variable massnonholonomic system in noninertial relerence frames are obtained,and the canonicalequations and the variation equations of the system are extended. It is proved that using the first integral we can construct the integral invariant of the system.Finally,a series of deductions and an example are given.

ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION PLATFORM BASED ON SERVICEORIENTED ARCHITECTURE

To achieve information integration, process integration and application integration of enterprise, an enterprise integration platform （EIP） based on service-oriented architecture （SOA） is built. The enterprise integration model depending on encapsulating the business processes as well as the enterprise applications by the neutral and standard web services is presented. The problem how to discover the existed enterprise resources and share them was resolved depending on the mechanism of publishing and discovering the services. The EIP is integrated closely with product lifecycle management （PLM） system so that the process integration as well as orchestration of the business process services is implemented by encapsulating the workflow engine of PLM system. Not only process integration and application integration, but also information integration based on the bill of material （BOM） conversion driven by process are achieved. Finally, an interpretive, qualitative case study on EIP is conducted for this research.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT THROUGH INTEGRATION OF QUALITY TOOLS

The relationship between major quality tools such as quality function development （QFD）, failure mode and effects analysis （FMEA）, design of experiments （DOE） and statistical process control （SPC） is analyzed through an extensive review of the literature and the concurrent quality engineering philosophy, and a basic structure for the integration of quality tools is presented. An integrated quality management system （IQMS） is developed using C＋＋ Builder, running in the Windows 2000 Server environment with the basic internet connections, and SQL Server 2000 as the platform for developing the database, An illustrative example applying IQMS to the continuous quality improvement for a crane equipment manufacturing is reported. The result shows that the application of IQMS can optimize the process of design and manufacturing, shorten the cycle time of product, reduce the cost, and realize quality improvement continuously, The proposed integrated framework with IOMS is believed to be applicable to continuous quality improvement in many manufacturing companies.

Tunable optical filter using second-order micro-ring resonator

In this paper, we design and fabricate a silicon integrated optical filter consisting of two cascaded micro-ring resonators and two straight waveguides. Two micro-heaters are fabricated on the top of two micro-rings respectively, which are employed to modulate the micro-rings to perform the function of a tunable optical filter by the thermo–optic effect. The static response test indicates that the extinction ratio and 3-d B bandwidth are 29.01 d B and 0.21 nm respectively, the dynamic response test indicates that the 10%–90% rise and 90%–10% fall time of the filter are 16 μs and 12 μs, respectively,which can meet the requirements of optical communication and information processing. Finally, the power consumption of the device is also characterized, and the total power consumption is about 9.43 m W/nm, which has been improved efficiently.

On the generalized Cauchy function and new Conjecture on its exterior singularities

This article studies on Cauchy’s function f （z） and its integral, （2πi）J[ f （z）] ≡ ■C f （t）dt/（t z） taken along a closed simple contour C, in regard to their comprehensive properties over the entire z = x ＋ iy plane consisted of the simply connected open domain D ＋ bounded by C and the open domain D outside C. （1） With f （z） assumed to be C n （n ∞-times continuously differentiable） z ∈ D ＋ and in a neighborhood of C, f （z） and its derivatives f （n） （z） are proved uniformly continuous in the closed domain D ＋ = [D ＋ ＋ C]. （2） Cauchy’s integral formulas and their derivatives z ∈ D ＋ （or z ∈ D ） are proved to converge uniformly in D ＋ （or in D = [D ＋C]）, respectively, thereby rendering the integral formulas valid over the entire z-plane. （3） The same claims （as for f （z） and J[ f （z）]） are shown extended to hold for the complement function F（z）, defined to be C n z ∈ D and about C. （4） The uniform convergence theorems for f （z） and F（z） shown for arbitrary contour C are adapted to find special domains in the upper or lower half z-planes and those inside and outside the unit circle ｜z｜ = 1 such that the four general- ized Hilbert-type integral transforms are proved. （5） Further, the singularity distribution of f （z） in D is elucidated by considering the direct problem exemplified with several typ- ical singularities prescribed in D . （6） A comparative study is made between generalized integral formulas and Plemelj’s formulas on their differing basic properties. （7） Physical sig- nificances of these formulas are illustrated with applicationsto nonlinear airfoil theory. （8） Finally, an unsolved inverse problem to determine all the singularities of Cauchy function f （z） in domain D , based on the continuous numerical value of f （z） z ∈ D ＋ = [D ＋ ＋ C], is presented for resolution as a conjecture.

Dynamic fracture analysis of adhesive bonded material under normal loading

Dynamic fracture behavior of a Griffith crack along the interface of an adhesive bonded material under normal loading is studied. The singular integral equations are obtained by employing integral transformation and introducing dislocation density functions. By adopting Gauss-Jacobi integration formula, the problem is reduced to the solution of algebraic equations, and by collocation dots method. their solutions can be obtained Based on the parametric discussions presented in the paper, the following conclusions can be drawn： （1） Mode I dynamic stress intensity factor （DSIF） increases with increasing initial crack length and decreasing visco-elastic layer thickness, revealing distinct size effect; （2） The influence of the visco-elastic adhesive relaxation time on the DSIF should not be ignored.

Scattering of water waves by thin vertical plate submerged below ice-cover surface

The present paper is concerned with scattering of water waves from a vertical plate, modeled as an elastic plate, submerged in deep water covered with a thin uniform sheet of ice. The problem is formulated in terms of a hypersingular integral equation by a suitable application of Green＇s integral theorem in terms of difference of potential functicns across the barrier. This integral equation is solved by a collocation method using a finite series involving Chebyshev polynomials. Reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained numerically and presented graphically for various values of the wave number and ice-cover parameter.

The Theoretical Defects in DRIS and the Restructuring of a New Approach

There are two kinds of theoretical defects export in the diagnosis and recommendationintegrated system (DRIS): the distribution of nutrient elements ratios with two normaldistribution displays an abnormal distribution of positive skewness; there is a blinddiagnostic area by DRIS on the occasion of the nutrient elements with equal ratios butwithout equal quantity. In the light of the quadratic form theory of multidimensionalnormal distribution and the view of balance of equal probability, the balance diagnosisand recommendation integrated system (BDRIS) was developed in this paper, which issuperior to DRIS and its diagnosis method is unified to critical value diagnosis. Whenthe correlation matrix of nutrient elements R=I(identity matrix), i.e., the effects ofelements antagonism is disregarded, BDRIS will be simplified into the critical valuediagnosis. In addition, the diagnosis program written in SAS language was also providedin this paper.

New models for chronic disease management in the United States and China

In the United States(US)the role of the general practitioner in primary care is changing rapidly as the team leader in the new“Patient-centered Medical Home”model of care that is designed to improve the management of chronic disease.The“Collaborative Care Model”is an integrated model of treating multiple medical and behavioral conditions.These new approaches include a nurse case manager who serves as the key point of contact to provide education,facilitate treatment adherence,and guide the patient to improvements in nutrition and physical activity that cause obesity and chronic disease.A gap analysis was conducted comparing the US and Chinese general practitioner models for providing care to patients with chronic diseases.The results of the analysis were used to make recommendations for adding components of these models that are feasible and effective for Chinese general practitioners in community health centers.

From Chinese Version of Integrative Medicine to Globalized Integrative Medicine:Impression on the 3rd World Integrative Medicine Congress

In the 1950＇s, Chinese medical scientists were trying to take advantage of both Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine in clinical practice. The integrated traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine became an academic branch in medical sciences. As more and more medical doctors were involved in the Chinese version of integrative medicine, an academic organization, the Chinese Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine （now named the Chinese Association of the Integrative Medicine） was established in 1981 aiming to strengthen the academic exchanges in Chinese version of integrative medicine.

An Integral Representation for the Weighted Geometric Mean and Its Applications

By virtue of Cauchy’s integral formula in the theory of complex functions,the authors establish an integral representation for the weighted geometric mean,apply this newly established integral representation to show that the weighted geometric mean is a complete Bernstein function,and find a new proof of the well-known weighted arithmetic-geometric mean inequality.
