Integrative multi-omics and systems bioinformatics in translational neuroscience:A data mining perspective

Bioinformatic analysis of large and complex omics datasets has become increasingly useful in modern day biology by providing a great depth of information,with its application to neuroscience termed neuroinformatics.Data mining of omics datasets has enabled the generation of new hypotheses based on differentially regulated biological molecules associated with disease mechanisms,which can be tested experimentally for improved diagnostic and therapeutic targeting of neurodegenerative diseases.Importantly,integrating multi-omics data using a systems bioinformatics approach will advance the understanding of the layered and interactive network of biological regulation that exchanges systemic knowledge to facilitate the development of a comprehensive human brain profile.In this review,we first summarize data mining studies utilizing datasets from the individual type of omics analysis,including epigenetics/epigenomics,transcriptomics,proteomics,metabolomics,lipidomics,and spatial omics,pertaining to Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,and multiple sclerosis.We then discuss multi-omics integration approaches,including independent biological integration and unsupervised integration methods,for more intuitive and informative interpretation of the biological data obtained across different omics layers.We further assess studies that integrate multi-omics in data mining which provide convoluted biological insights and offer proof-of-concept proposition towards systems bioinformatics in the reconstruction of brain networks.Finally,we recommend a combination of high dimensional bioinformatics analysis with experimental validation to achieve translational neuroscience applications including biomarker discovery,therapeutic development,and elucidation of disease mechanisms.We conclude by providing future perspectives and opportunities in applying integrative multi-omics and systems bioinformatics to achieve precision phenotyping of neurodegenerative diseases and towards personalized medicine.

Cultivation of Translators for Multimodal Translation in the New Media Age

In the 21st century,the development of digital and new media technologies has ushered in an age of pervasive multimodal communication,which has significantly amplified the role of multimodal translation in facilitating crosscultural exchanges.Despite the profound impact of these developments,the prevailing translation pedagogy remains predominantly focused on the enhancement of linguistic translation skills,with noticeable neglect of the imperative to cultivate students’competencies in multimodal translation.Based on the distinctive characteristics and challenges that multimodal translation presents in the context of new media,this study delves into the formulation of educational objectives and curriculum design for the training of multimodal translators.The intent is to propose a framework that can guide the preparation of translators who are adept and equipped to navigate the complexities and demands of the contemporary age.

A Brief Report on Task-based Translation Teaching in University English Classes in China

Translation teaching in college English classes is highly teacher-centered, so students are not fully motivated and therefore lack basic interests to fulfill these tasks. In order for students to be more involved and more learning independent, translation teaching needs to become student-centered and task-based. This paper discusses the theoretical basis of this teaching method and suggests possible ways to use the method.

SINGULAR INTEGRAL EQUATIONS WITHCOMPLEX TRANSLATIONS

In this paper, a class of singular integral equations with complex translations is discussed. By using the Plemelj projection method the authors reduce them to the boundary value problem of analytic functions in A(+)(H) over cap(0) with upper translation and the boundary value problem of analytic functions in A-(H) over cap(0) with lower translation, which are solved here.

Query Translation on the Fly in Deep Web Integration

To facilitate users to access the desired information, many researches have dedicated to the Deep Web （i.e. Web databases） integration. We focus on query translation which is an important part of the Deep Web integration. Our aim is to construct automatically a set of constraints mapping rules so that the system can translate the query from the integrated interface to the Web database interfaces based on them. We construct a concept hierarchy for the attributes of the query interfaces, especially, store the synonyms and the types （e.g. Number, Text, etc.） for every concept At the same time, we construct the data hierarchies for some concepts if necessary. Then we present an algorithm to generate the constraint mapping rules based on these hierarchies. The approach is suitable for the scalability of such application and can be extended easily from one domain to another for its domain independent feature. The results of experiment show its effectiveness and efficiency.

The Method of Solutions for some Kinds of Singular Integral Equations of Convolution Type with Both Reflection and Translation Shift

In this paper,some kinds of singular integral equations of convolution type with reflection and translation shift are discussed and they are turned into Riemann boundary value problems with both discontinuous coefficients and reflection by using the Fourier transform.In spite of the classical method for solution,we are to give another method,therefore the general solution and condition of solvability are obtained in class{0}.

Communications between different countries has been paid high attention to. News, as a carrier of the information, is received by large amount of people. Exploring the Translation Model of Poetic Metaphor based on Conceptual Integration Theory

Poetic metaphor is a kind of conceptual structure formed by conceptual integration.It is the cognitive means,which is used by the poets to understand things and express emotions.As a conceptual structure,the poetic metaphor expresses certain semantic content,and its meaning construction is a kind of non-linear integration mode.In the translation of poetic metaphor,the translators should take the conceptual integration theory as the guide,construe the poetic metaphor firstly,in order to understand that what entities are participated in the conceptual integration of the poetic metaphor,and how the process of conceptual integration is;then,take the construal results as the basis,and take the cultural background of the target language as a reference,to reconstruct poetic metaphor in the target language,so as to achieve the purpose of translation and information dissemination.In the process of poetic metaphor translation,the translator’s cognitive model,ability and preference,the proficiency of the source language and target language,the familiarity of the culture of the source language and target language,personal encyclopedic knowledge reserve,and personal language expressing preference will affect the translation results of poetic metaphor.In addition,when the translators reconstruct the poetic metaphor in the target language,they must follow the principle of semantic consistency,cultural adaptation and universality.

An Analysis of Cultural Integration Strategy in Chinese Classics Translation Teaching

The course of college English translation is of vital importance in enhancing students' translating skills, comprehending bilateral cultures—the original one and the target one, transmitting Chinese classics to the world and promoting effective communication. In terms of translating classic works, cultural integration strategy is quite an essential way to bridge cultural gap. This article aims at illustrating the significant role of cultural integration strategy in translating Chinese classic works by analyzing Ku Hunming's translation of Zhong Yong, including his translating motivation, strategy and effect, to improve college English translation teaching, especially in translating Chinese classics abroad.

The Integration of Task-based Language Teaching and Information and Communication Technology into English Language Teaching in China

The purpose of this article is to explore how important that task-based language teaching(TBLT)interacts with Infor mation and Communication Technology(ICT)into English language teaching(ELT)in China.Many researchers have already studied that ICT and TBLT innovate the traditional teaching methods and improve our teaching or learning.However,they sepa rated TBLT from ICT instead of integrating these two ways into ELT.Few researches studied on how importance task-based in teracts with integration ICT into ELT in China.Under this circumstance,this article reviews the literature related to the present situation,which includes the brief introduction in English language teaching problems,the general concepts of ICT in ELT,taskbased teaching methodology in ELT,some studies on task-based interacting with integration ICT into ELT,discussion and con clusion.

CONVOLUTION EQUATIONS WITH REFLECTION AND TRANSLATION SHIFT

In this paper, four kinds of integral equations of convolution type are solved, in which the reflection occurs, that is, besides the unknown f(t),f(-t) is also appeared. Moreover, it is mentioned that the methods or solution for two of them are still effective when translation shifts, i.e., f(t+lambda(j)) or/and f(-t-mu(j)), occur in addition.

Study on Characteristics of 3-D Translating-Pulsating Source Green Function of Deep-Water Havelock Form and Its Fast Integration Method

The singularities, oscillatory performances and the contributing factors to the 3-＇D translating-pulsating source Green function of deep-water Havelock form which consists of a local disturbance part and a far-field wave-like part, are analyzed systematically. Relative numerical integral methods about the two parts are presented in this paper. An improved method based on LOBATTO rule is used to eliminate singularities caused respectively by infinite discontinuity and jump discontinuous node from the local disturbance part function, which makes the improvement of calculation efficiency and accuracy possible. And variable substitution is applied to remove the singularity existing at the end of the integral interval of the far-field wave-like part function. Two auxiliary techniques such as valid interval calculation and local refinement of integral steps technique in narrow zones near false singularities are applied so as to avoid unnecessary integration of invalid interval and improve integral accordance. Numerical test results have proved the efficiency and accuracy in these integral methods that thus can be applied to calculate hydrodynamic performance of floating structures moving in waves.

An Analysis of Brand Name Translation from the Perspective of Conceptual Blending Theory

A brand is the identity of a specific product,service,or business.The brand name is quite often used interchangeably with "brand",although it is more correctly used to specifically denote written or spoken linguistic elements of any product.Developed from the mental space theory,conceptual blending theory is an important part of cognitive linguistic researches.Based on this theory and integration networks,this paper explains the meaning construction of the translated brand names and the way people understand them.This paper takes two successful translation cases and two unsuccessful ones to make the contrast analysis.It proves that conceptual blending theory can provide detailed description and profound explanation of the perceiving process of brand name translation.Meanwhile it points out the direction of brand name translation from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.

Culture-Specific Metaphor in TGOC and Its C-E Translation

The Governance of China features the application of metaphors with Chinese characteristics.Metaphor is very persuasive.It uses rational and conscious conceptual basis with emotional and metaphoric meaning to describe facts and affect people’s perception.Through statistical analysis of Xi Jinping’s metaphorical expression and its resonance of the source domain,the current research focuses on the identification of conceptual metaphors in TGOC and explores its translation strategies.It is found that the ROSD of JOURNEY,BUILDING and WAR metaphors are among the highest and significant.Four networks have been identified to translate the culture-specific metaphors from Chinese into English,while the Single-Scopes dominate an overwhelming majority.Single-Scopes and Double-Scopes are the main cognitive strategies for the C-E translation.

基于多模式预报的四川盆地强降水订正方法

四川盆地地形地貌复杂,强降水预报难度大,对模式降水预报产品进行订正,是提升强降水预报质量的重要手段。本文选取2018—2019年发生在四川盆地的35次强降水过程,对ECMWF、CMA_MESO和SWC_WARMS三种模式的24 h强降水预报采用常规评分和空间平移两个方法进行检验,并利用最优评分、多模式集成和位移订正三种方法进行订正试验。结果表明:最优评分订正方法可以有效改善各模式降水预报的强度,而多模式集成订正法可以改进降水落区和极值预报,在此基础上计算位移偏差,根据最优的位移偏差值对降水预报进行位移订正,可以进一步改进强降水落区预报效果。然后利用2020—2021年强降水过程进行订正效果验证,结果显示:经订正后的降水极值预报更接近实况,各量级降水预报评分明显优于单一模式,暴雨和大暴雨预报的TS评分提高率较最优单模式分别可达24.3%和42.8%,订正后空报率基本维持,漏报率显著下降,订正效果良好。

一类第二型曲线积分的四种计算方法

针对一类第二型曲线积分的计算问题,本文给出了四种计算方法.总体上这四种解法可归纳为三类:第一类是转化为第一型曲线积分,第二类是积分路线参数化,第三类是化曲线积分为曲面积分的Stokes方法.通过这些解法的讨论,有利于启发和提高学生综合分析问题的能力.

本文深入探讨了“档案”一词在翻译过程中“专译”与“普译”的平衡问题。首先,区分了“专译”与“普译”的概念,并将这两种翻译策略应用于“档案”的翻译实践中。其次,通过对“档案”的译路历程的回顾和分析,揭示了“Records”翻译差异的背景及原因,以及由译者理念差异导致的翻译结果差异。指出“档案”一词翻译之辨背后的实质是“专译”与“普译”的平衡。认为在“专译”与“普译”同时存在的情况下,从大众传播的角度,“专译”应向“普译”看齐,以避免曲高和寡、因坚守“专译”使自身陷于“孤岛”。最后,文章从理论和实践的角度,提出了如何在自主知识体系构建中进行专业融合翻译,并培养出既具备时代精神又能理论联系实际的融合型人才。
