The study was based on a mixed perspective consisting of objective analysis of quantitative data and interpretative analysis of qualitative data. The results showed that business and strategic intelligence policies have not been established at either company or state level, as this is an area of activity that is not known to the players in companies and public departments, and there are no units or offices in their organizational structures responsible for managing strategic information for competitiveness on the international market. In addition, there is a real need to establish strategic information management units within companies, upstream, and to set up a national strategic information management department or agency to help local companies compete in the marketplace, downstream. This reflects the importance and timeliness of building business and strategic intelligence policies to ensure economic progress and development in the eastern DRC. Business and strategic intelligence provides companies with an appropriate tool for researching, collecting, processing and disseminating information useful for decision-making among stakeholders, in order to cope with a crisis or competitive situation. The study suggests a number of key recommendations based on its findings. To the government, it is recommended to establish the national policy of business and strategic intelligence by setting up a national agency of strategic intelligence in favor of local companies;and to companies to establish business intelligence units in their organizational structures in favor of stakeholders to foster advantageous decision-making in the competitive market and achieve progress. Finally, the study suggests that studies be carried out to fully understand the opportunities and impact of business and strategic intelligence in African countries, particularly in the DRC.展开更多

Firstly, the laundry wireless terminal will send a laundry request to the laundry control center when the customer is ready to wash. Secondly, after receiving the laundry request, control center will send WeChat Public Accounts, idle washing machine number and charges, as well as laundry service time and other information back to the wireless terminal to generate payment QR code. And then the customer scans QR code, when the control center receives the information that payment is successful, the system will automatically control the washing machine to complete the laundry service work. This empirical study examines ChatGPT as an educational and learning tool.It investigates the opportunities and challenges that ChatGPT provides to the students and instructors of communication,business writing,and co...This empirical study examines ChatGPT as an educational and learning tool.It investigates the opportunities and challenges that ChatGPT provides to the students and instructors of communication,business writing,and composition courses.It also strives to provide recommendations.After conducting 30 theory-based and application-based ChatGPT tests,it is found that ChatGPT has the potential of replacing search engines as it provides accurate and reliable input to students.For opportunities,the study found that ChatGPT provides a platform for students to seek answers to theory-based questions and generate ideas for application-based questions.It also provides a platform for instructors to integrate technology in classrooms and conduct workshops to discuss and evaluate generated responses.For challenges,the study found that ChatGPT,if unethically used by students,may lead to human unintelligence and unlearning.This may also present a challenge to instructors as the use of ChatGPT negatively affects their ability to differentiate between meticulous and automation-dependent students,on the one hand,and measure the achievement of learning outcomes,on the other hand.Based on the outcome of the analysis,this study recommends communication,business writing,and composition instructors to(1)refrain from making theory-based questions as take-home assessments,(2)provide communication and business writing students with detailed case-based and scenario-based assessment tasks that call for personalized answers utilizing critical,creative,and imaginative thinking incorporating lectures and textbook material,(3)enforce submitting all take-home assessments on plagiarism detection software,especially for composition courses,and(4)integrate ChatGPT generated responses in classes as examples to be discussed in workshops.Remarkably,this study found that ChatGPT skillfully paraphrases regenerated responses in a way that is not detected by similarity detection software.To maintain their effectiveness,similarity detection software providers need to upgrade their software to avoid such incidents from slipping unnoticed.展开更多

文摘This empirical study examines ChatGPT as an educational and learning tool.It investigates the opportunities and challenges that ChatGPT provides to the students and instructors of communication,business writing,and composition courses.It also strives to provide recommendations.After conducting 30 theory-based and application-based ChatGPT tests,it is found that ChatGPT has the potential of replacing search engines as it provides accurate and reliable input to students.For opportunities,the study found that ChatGPT provides a platform for students to seek answers to theory-based questions and generate ideas for application-based questions.It also provides a platform for instructors to integrate technology in classrooms and conduct workshops to discuss and evaluate generated responses.For challenges,the study found that ChatGPT,if unethically used by students,may lead to human unintelligence and unlearning.This may also present a challenge to instructors as the use of ChatGPT negatively affects their ability to differentiate between meticulous and automation-dependent students,on the one hand,and measure the achievement of learning outcomes,on the other hand.Based on the outcome of the analysis,this study recommends communication,business writing,and composition instructors to(1)refrain from making theory-based questions as take-home assessments,(2)provide communication and business writing students with detailed case-based and scenario-based assessment tasks that call for personalized answers utilizing critical,creative,and imaginative thinking incorporating lectures and textbook material,(3)enforce submitting all take-home assessments on plagiarism detection software,especially for composition courses,and(4)integrate ChatGPT generated responses in classes as examples to be discussed in workshops.Remarkably,this study found that ChatGPT skillfully paraphrases regenerated responses in a way that is not detected by similarity detection software.To maintain their effectiveness,similarity detection software providers need to upgrade their software to avoid such incidents from slipping unnoticed.

文摘Multiple customer data management has become a focus of attention in big organizations.Although much information is available,it does not translate into significant profitable value-added services.We present a design of a commercial web application based on business intelligence that generates information on social and financial behavior of clients in an organization;with the purpose of obtain additional information that allows to get more profits.This app will provide a broader perspective for making strategic decisions to increase profits and reduce internal investment costs.A case in point is the financial sector,a group of financial entities were used to make measurements and test them.A design to build a web application aimed at achieving a large and ambitious goal by means of defined tools reflecting clients’business needs is proposed.In this research,different techniques and technologies are explored,such as diagrams,frameworks,design,architecture,model entity-relationship,tables,equations,mental maps and development tools.Through the Personal Software Process methodology and with the help of information extraction,consolidation,and visualization,the implementation can be carried out.This article provides the importance of implementing business intelligence in an organization and expands on the steps needed for the implementation of this valuable technology.
文摘The importance of Internet as mass media in the field of tourism is that it constitutes an important channel of marketing institutions and business network of the tourist destinations. But very few subsequent processes of management, maintenance, improvement, and exploitation of this appearance are deeply studied. The interactive nature of the website, as both transmitter of information and receiver, has attracted the attention of scholars since the interaction allows opening new approaches to the study of the network traffic (the pages user has visited, order them, the time that it has been in them, the actions carried out...) and cyber behavior. Information flows from the physical to the cyber world, and vice versa, adapting the converged world to human behavior and social dynamic. The business intelligence systems based on Internet enable organizations intelligent actions to address time-sensitive business processes and benefit from analytics. As result provides the opportunity to anticipate and estimate visitor habits in a changing environment. This paper presents the research and technological fields which have been incorporated to study of the destination web, a business intelligent tool based on Internet that it aims to increase the performance of the local manager or tour operator by providing an enhanced insight through the behavior of visitors on the website and future trends in research are expressed.
文摘The fixed annual budget process can be a cumbersome and static process, often failing to deliver intended benefits. Typically detached from business operations and strategic planning goals, the annual budget suffers from inherent weaknesses caused by a lack of business intelligence regarding its underlying assumptions. This weakness is well documented in existing literature and there is ample evidence of improved alternatives to static corporate financial planning. One such alternative utilizes business intelligence as an essential component in the annual budget process, along with rolling forecasts as a critical tool. Utilizing business intelligence supported, driver-based rolling forecasting can align an organization’s budget process with strategic objectives and can further the operational and financial strength of an organization, as well as maximize shareholder value. In order to fully explore this topic, this article will present a review of the conventional annual budget process and the manner in which an approach that bases financial forecasts on business intelligence drivers can align operations with strategic objectives and add value to an organization. An assessment of intelligence-supported, driver-based rolling forecasting will also be presented, demonstrating an im- proved approach to the traditional annual budgeting process.
文摘Enterprises are continuously aiming at improving the execution of processes to achieve a competitive edge.One of the established ways of improving process performance is to assign the most appropriate resources to each task of the process.However,evaluations of business process improvement approaches have established that a method that can guide decision-makers to identify the most appropriate resources for a task of process improvement in a structured way,is missing.It is because the relationship between resources and tasks is less understood and advancement in business process intelligence is also ignored.To address this problem an integrated resource classification framework is presenting that identifies competence,suitability,and preference as the relationship of task with resources.But,only the competence relationship of human resources with a task is presented in this research as a resource competence model.Furthermore,the competency calculation method is presented as a user guider layer for business process intelligencebased resource competence evaluation.The computed capabilities serve as a basic input for choosing the most appropriate resources for each task of the process.Applicability of method is illustrated through a heathcare case study.
文摘The objective of this work is to define a decision support system over SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compatibility and quality of the Purchase Orders Creation Process based on Artificial Intelligence and Theory of Argumentation knowledge and techniques. This proposed model directly contributes to both scientific research artificial intelligent area and business practices. From business perspective it empowers the use of artificial intelligent models and techniques to drive decision making processes over financial statements. From scientific and research area the impact is based on the combination of 1) an Information Seeking Dialog Protocol in which a requestor agent inquires the business case, 2) a Facts Valuation based Protocol in which the previously gathered facts are analyzed, 3) the already incorporated initial knowledge of a human expert via initial beliefs, 4) the Intra-Agent Decision Making Protocol based on deductive argumentation and 5) the semi automated Dynamic Knowledge Learning Protocol. Last but not least the suggested way of integration of this proposed model in a higher level multiagent intelligent system in which a Joint Deliberative Dialog Protocol and an Inter-Agent Decision Deductive Argumentation Making Protocol are described.
文摘Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology provides new and exciting opportunities for increasing organiza- tional, financial, and operational performance. With its focus on organizational efficiency and effectiveness, RFID technology is superior to barcodes in its ability to provide source automation features that increase the speed and volume of data collection for analysis. Today, applications that employ RFID are growing rapidly and this technology is in a continuous state of evolution and growth. As it continues to progress, RFID provides us with new opportunities to use business intelligence (BI) to monitor organizational operations and learn more about markets, as well as consumer attitudes, behaviors, and product preferences. This technology can even be used to prevent potentially faulty or spoiled products from ending up in the hands of consumers. However, RFID offers significant challenges to organizations that attempt to employ this technology. Most significantly, there exists the potential for RFID to overwhelm data collection and BI analytic efforts if organizations fail to effectively address RFID data integration issues. To this end, the purpose of this article is to explicate the dynamic technology of RFID and how it is being used today. Additionally, this article will provide insights into how RFID technology is evolving and how this technology relates to BI and issues related to data integration. This knowledge has never been more essential. While IT academic research into RFID development and issues has declined in recent years, RFID continues to be a vital area of exploration, especially as it relates to BI in the 21st century.
文摘Discipline of informatics must contain one of the significant issues that need to develop for especially processing systems of large-scale enterprises. At this point, a well-designed business intelligence (BI) system, which includes a structure of regular business activities and analyses within whole an enterprise, requires to manage stored data and transform the data into information as an output and forecasting targets and provide sustainable growth for an enterprise or an organization. Information systems (IS) support to constitute these processes by using the information technologies (IT) that cause to capture data which will be transformed into information and integrate whole subsystems that need to develop for all departments of the enterprise. BI tools organize all parts of these business analysis and processes and effect on the top management level of enterprises or organizations. Decision makers at the top-level of management must use these information and knowledge to orient future decisions for the enterprise that includes investments, company policies, precautions for the future negations, etc. This study shows that the BI is not only an IS, but also reinforcement for strategic decisions of the enterprises and/or organizations.

文摘Increased smart devices in various industries are creating numerous sensors in each of the equipment prompting the need for methods and models for sensor data.Current research proposes a systematic approach to analyze the data generated from sensors attached to industrial equipment.The methodology involves data cleaning,preprocessing,basics statistics,outlier,and anomaly detection.Present study presents the prediction of RUL by using various Machine Learning models like Regression,Polynomial Regression,Random Forest,Decision Tree,XG Boost.Hyper Parameter Optimization is performed to find the optimal parameters for each variable.In each of the model for RUL prediction RMSE,MAE are compared.Outcome of the RUL prediction should be useful for decision maker to drive the business decision;hence Binary cclassification is performed,and business case analysis is performed.Business case analysis includes the cost of maintenance and cost of non-maintaining a particular asset.Current research is aimed at integrating the machine intelligence and business intelligence so that the industrial operations optimized both in resource and profit.
文摘In recent years, industrial and service organizations have invested in improvement projects with emphasis on increasing the performance of processes regarding to the production of manufactured goods and services, applying techniques to optimize production time in order to minimize the restrictive effects of the funds invested in processing or obtaining processes in order to reduce the losses of general scope. This paper discusses the impact of the innovation in making use of business intelligence (BI) concepts about production records of a publishing area in a higher education institution (HEI) that promotes distance education (DE) in Brazil, helping the industry in their managements decisions, having a target minimize time on production of learning material through more effective control with the use of cubes in the form of reports for metric queries of delivery delays and metrics on the production tasks financial values, and filtering the processed information so that managers can view information from various angles and managerial perspectives. The objectives of this paper are to demonstrate the impact on using BI concepts in the process of an editorial department of a HEI focusing on the development of teaching materials for the courses of DE and identify the financial cost-benefit ratio for the HEI with the deploying BI in a software fee platform in its publishing department. The sector is responsible by in courseware publishing organizations that usually do not have systems with this emphasis: support on making managerial decisions.
