The chemical composition of interfacial layer was tested. The generation mechanism and influence of interfacial layer on the composite were analyzed. The results indicated that the generation of interfacial layer is sensitive to temperature. Interfacial layer will generate rapidly when temperature reaches 500 ℃ or above. The interfacial layer is mainly composed of Al, Si, Cu, Fe, and Cr, element Ni distributes at the outward of the interfacial layer for the precipitate of Ni later than Si and Cu, and there is almost no diffusion of Ni during the solution treatment. During heat treatment process, unequal quantity changing of metal atom results in disperse or concentrated vacancies or holes near the matrix. The existence of interfacial layer will induce a decrease of compression strength and plasticity at room temperature and an increase of strength at higher temperature comparing with composite without interfacial layer.展开更多

The nonlinearity of the theory is obvious. Especially, the theory is suited to study the dielectric properties of two-phase random composites with a spherical interfacial shell. The theoretical results on dielectric properties of polystyrene-barium titanate composites with an interfacial shell are in good agreement with experimental data.展开更多

The magnetoresistance (MR) of composites is a function of the magnetic field, temperature, the conductivities of two phases without magnetic field, and the thickness and conductivity of the interracial shells. The MR increases with the increase of the magnetic field and with the decrease of temperature, and no saturation is found even under the high magnetic field. Moreover, it is interestingly found that the interracial shell is an important factor for the MR of the composites. The MR increases with the thickness and the conductivity of the interfacial shells. Lastly, the theoretical results on the MR are compared with the experimental data. It is found that the value of the MR of the composite with the interfacial shell is larger than that without the interfacial shell.展开更多

A type of polyamine(Pentaethylenehexamine, PEHA) was proposed to modify the coating of PI on FBG, and the interfacial performance was evaluated by a pull-out test. Sharp improvements of the interfacial shear strength(77%) were obtained by 40 min treatment of PEHA. Compared with untreated specimen, FGB spectra of treated specimen in the tensile tests show improved linearity within the test regime, which proves that the enhanced interface is beneficial for the sensing performance.展开更多

The factors considered for experimental design were the UV(ultraviolet)-irradiation time, the concentrations of the initiator and solvent, and the kinds and concentrations of the silane coupling agent. The optimum operating conditions determined were UV-irradiation time of 25 min, an initiator concentration of 0–0.25 wt.%,solvent of N-Dimethylacetamide(DMAC), and silane coupling agent KH570 with a concentration of 7 wt.%. The obtained optimal parameters were located in the valid region and the experimental confirmation tests conducted showed good accordance between predicted and experimental values. Under these optimal conditions, the water absorption of the grafted modified glass fiber was improved from 13.6% to 23%; the tensile strength was enhanced and the peeling strength of the glass fiber reinforced PVDF composite membrane was improved by 23.7% and 32.6% with an AM concentration at 1 wt.% and 2 wt.%. The surface composition and microstructure of AM grafted glass fiber were studied via several techniques including Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FESEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy-attenuated total reflectance(FTIR-ATR) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX). The analysis of the EDX and FTIR-ATR results confirmed that the AM was grafted to the glass fiber successfully by detecting and proving the existence of nitrogen atoms in the GFRP-CM.展开更多

Results indicated that the addition of lubricant WS_2 substantially reduced wear rate of the Cu matrix composites fabricated by SPS,and the optimum content of WS_2 is 20 wt% with regard to the wear behavior. However, it affected a little to the wear rate while dramatically decreased the friction coefficient of the composite fabricated by HP.This difference in friction behavior of the self-lubricating composites fabricated by the two techniques was closely related to their different mechanical properties. Severe interfacial reaction occurred during spark plasma sintering, leading to brittle phase formation at interface.展开更多
