Conventional principal component analysis(PCA) can obtain low-dimensional representations of original data space, but the selection of principal components(PCs) based on variance is subjective, which may lead to infor...Conventional principal component analysis(PCA) can obtain low-dimensional representations of original data space, but the selection of principal components(PCs) based on variance is subjective, which may lead to information loss and poor monitoring performance. To address dimension reduction and information preservation simultaneously, this paper proposes a novel PC selection scheme named full variable expression. On the basis of the proposed relevance of variables with each principal component, key principal components can be determined.All the key principal components serve as a low-dimensional representation of the entire original variables, preserving the information of original data space without information loss. A squared Mahalanobis distance, which is introduced as the monitoring statistic, is calculated directly in the key principal component space for fault detection. To test the modeling and monitoring performance of the proposed method, a numerical example and the Tennessee Eastman benchmark are used.展开更多
Enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)programs have been widely applied in liver surgery since the publication of the first ERAS guidelines in 2016 and the new recommendations in 2022.Liver surgery is usually performed...Enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)programs have been widely applied in liver surgery since the publication of the first ERAS guidelines in 2016 and the new recommendations in 2022.Liver surgery is usually performed in oncological patients(liver metastasis,hepatocellular carcinoma,cholangiocarcinoma,etc.),but the real impact of liver surgery ERAS programs in oncological outcomes is not clearly defined.Theoretical advantages of ERAS programs are:ERAS decreases postoperative complication rates and has been demonstrated a clear relationship between complications and oncological outcomes;a better and faster posto-perative recovery should let oncologic teams begin chemotherapeutic regimens on time;prehabilitation and nutrition actions before surgery should also improve the performance status of the patients receiving chemotherapy.So,ERAS could be another way to improve our oncological results.We will discuss the literature about liver surgery ERAS focusing on its oncological implications and future investigations projects.展开更多

Fourteen characters are considered and their analyses showed that the seeds and cones of the larch taxa were relative greatly variable. Cluster analysis and principal component analysis for all 6 larch taxa were made. The analysis results proved that the dominant larch population in Toudao Farm fell within the range of variation ofLarix olgensis. The key taxonomic characters are the length of seed wing, length of cone, length of seed, the length/width ratio of seed and number of scales.展开更多

The recommended solutions are especially the protection of information in all its states. The levels of protection show a discrepancy from an application to another;governmental, commercial or even cybercriminal. The infrastructure used in modern cryptography is based on public key cryptosystem. The problem is how to make safe the private key and to memorize it without difficulties and damages. This paper introduces a biometric solution of owner signature generating an encryption of the key using the iris recognition kept in a smart card. Several precautions were taken to guarantee the safety and the availability of the use of the private key. They are two essential goals to attest: the quality of the service and the robustness of suggested safety. Being the quality of the service, the used iris recognition is based on a new emerging method founded on Flexible-ICA algorithm. This method offers a better Equal Error rate compared to other methods previously used. This quality of recognition was also reinforced by an encoding of error using a flag and finally Reed Solomon encoder. For recommended safety, a scheme based on block encryption is used. The proposed scheme is Propagating Cipher Block chaining which offers a very propagation of a high level of confusion and diffusion. Indeed, the robustness of this cryptographic process was studied by setting up strict criteria of safety.展开更多

Firstly, the status of heavy haul railway line is analyzed, and an initial set of evaluation variables affecting the line status is constructed. Then, based on the association rule and the principal component analysis method, key variables are extracted from the initial variable set to establish the evaluation system. Finally, this method is verified with actual data of a line. The results show that the service performance of heavy haul railway line can still be evaluated accurately when the evaluation variables are reduced by 60% in the proposed method.展开更多

Protonic solid oxide electrolysis cells(P-SOECs)operating at intermediate temperatures,which have low costs,low environmental impact,and high theoretical electrolysis efficiency,are considered promising next-generatio...Protonic solid oxide electrolysis cells(P-SOECs)operating at intermediate temperatures,which have low costs,low environmental impact,and high theoretical electrolysis efficiency,are considered promising next-generation energy conversion devices for green hydrogen production.However,the developments and applications of P-SOECs are restricted by numerous material-and interface-related issues,including carrier mismatch between the anode and electrolyte,current leakage in the electrolyte,poor interfacial contact,and chemical stability.Over the past few decades,considerable attempts have been made to address these issues by improving the properties of P-SOECs.This review comprehensively explores the recent advances in the mechanisms governing steam electrolysis in P-SOECs,optimization strategies,specially designed components,electrochemical performance,and durability.In particular,given that the lack of suitable anode materials has significantly impeded P-SOEC development,the relationships between the transferred carriers and the cell performance,reaction models,and surface decoration approaches are meticulously probed.Finally,the challenges hindering P-SOEC development are discussed and recommendations for future research directions,including theoretical calculations and simulations,structural modification approaches,and large-scale single-cell fabrication,are proposed to stimulate research on P-SOECs and thereby realize efficient electricity-to-hydrogen conversion.展开更多

This method uses the perception dictionaries,and combines the Basis-Pursuit algorithm and the Total-Variation regularization scheme to extract the cartoon part containing basic geometrical information from the original image, and is stable and unsusceptible to noise interference. Then a smaller number of the distinctive key points will be obtained by using the SIFT algorithm based on the cartoon part of the original image. Matching the key points by the constrained Euclidean distance,we will obtain a more correct and robust matching result. The experimental results show that the geometrical transform parameters inferred by the matched key points based on MCA+SIFT registration method are more exact than the ones based on the direct SIFT algorithm.展开更多
