First, we find that KIBS possess good prerequisites to function as vehicles in innovation distribution, the sources of innovation and the facilitators of innovation in their client firms. Second, we further discuss KIBS as the knowledge and innovation infrastructure of society in parallel with the research, educational and other public institutions. Third, we present some research policies and agenda to promote the development of KIBS. It is regarded that much remains to be studied both in the use of KIBS and in their own activities, including integrating and networking the knowledge-intensive services into the client companies, the convergence of various services and closer connection with the client companies' strategy, and the national policies to connect the KIBS to the different sectors.展开更多

Then the basic implementation principles are discussed, and the steps of BPR are also analyzed for Chinese logistics enterprises. Moreover, five relevant measures of ensuring the success of BPR for them are concept reengineering, system reengineering, organization reengineering, culture reengineering and technology reengineering.展开更多

Many organizations are either in the process of adopting web services technology or evaluating this option for incorporation into their enterprise information architectures. Implementation of this new technology requires careful assessment of the needs and capabilities of an organization to formulate adoption strategies. This paper presents a methodology for web services adoption based on technology adoption theory and business process analyses. The methodology suggests that strategies, business areas, and functions within an organization should be considered based on the existing organizational information technology status during the process of adopting web services to support the business needs and requirements.展开更多

The service-oriented architecture (SOA) and the model-driven architecture (MDA) have been rec- ognized as major evolutionary steps in enterprise integration (El) in service-oriented computing environ- ments. Ser...The service-oriented architecture (SOA) and the model-driven architecture (MDA) have been rec- ognized as major evolutionary steps in enterprise integration (El) in service-oriented computing environ- ments. Service-oriented enterprise (SOE) networks (SOEN) are emerging with the significant advances of El, SOA, and MDA. However, the implementation and optimization of SOEN is still lacking integrated SOA, MDA, and performance analysis and optimization (PAO) methods. This paper introduces an integrated solu- tion of SOA and MDA with a simulation-based three-stage PAO method with stage 1 being an analytic hier- archy process (AHP)-based comprehensive performance calculation for service matching and binding, stage 2 being a simulation-based comprehensive performance evaluation for business process/service composition, and stage 3 being a business process simulation-based performance optimization for SOEN. The SOE architecture, performance analysis framework, performance indicators, and performance opera- tors are discussed. The system uses MDA as the system development philosophy, SOA as the system im- plementation infrastructure, and the simulation-based PAO methods to analyze and optimize the SOEN performance. A case study of the SOEN illustrates the usage of the integrated solution.展开更多
