Nitrocellulose,or cellulose nitrate,has received considerable interest due to its various applications,such as propellants,coating agents and gas generators.However,its high mechanical sensitivity caused many accident...Nitrocellulose,or cellulose nitrate,has received considerable interest due to its various applications,such as propellants,coating agents and gas generators.However,its high mechanical sensitivity caused many accidents during its storage and usage in ammunition.In this work,two kinds of insensitive step ladderstructured nitrocellulose(LNC)with different nitrogen contents were synthesized.The products were characterized by FT-IR,Raman,XRD,SEM,elemental analysis,TGA,DSC,accelerating rate calorimeter analysis(ARC),and drop weight test to study their molecular structure,thermal characteristics and desensitization performance.Compared with raw nitrocellulose,LNC has a sharper exothermic peak in the DSC and ARC curves.The H50values of the two kinds of LNC increased from 25.76 to 30.01 cm for low nitrogen content and from 18.02 to 21.84 cm for high nitrogen content,respectively.The results show that the ladder-structure of LNC which provides regular molecular arrangement and a soft buffer made with polyethylene glycol could affect the energy releasing process of LNC and reduce the sensitivity of LNC.Insensitive LNC provides an alternative to be used as a binder in insensitive propellants formulation.展开更多
An 80-GHz DCO based on modified hybrid tuning banks is introduced in this paper.To achieve sub-MHz frequency res-olution with reduced circuit complexity,the improved circuit topology replaces the conventional circuit ...An 80-GHz DCO based on modified hybrid tuning banks is introduced in this paper.To achieve sub-MHz frequency res-olution with reduced circuit complexity,the improved circuit topology replaces the conventional circuit topology with two binary-weighted SC cells,enabling eight SC-cell-based improved SC ladders to achieve the same fine-tuning steps as twelve SC-cell-based conventional SC ladders.To achieve lower phase noise and smaller chip size,the promoted binary-weighted digi-tally controlled transmission lines(DCTLs)are used to implement the coarse and medium tuning banks of the DCO.Compared to the conventional thermometer-coded DCTLs,control bits of the proposed DCTLs are reduced from 30 to 8,and the total length is reduced by 34.3%(from 122.76 to 80.66μm).Fabricated in 40-nm CMOS,the DCO demonstrated in this work fea-tures a small fine-tuning step(483 kHz),a high oscillation frequency(79-85 GHz),and a smaller chip size(0.017 mm^(2)).Com-pared to previous work,the modified DCO exhibits an excellent figure of merit with an area(FoMA)of-198 dBc/Hz.展开更多

The Hamiltonian can be brought into block off-diagonal form and the winding number can be defined with the determine of the block off-diagonal matrix. We find the determine of the offdiagonal matrix has nothing to do with the interleg hopping of the ladder. So the topological phases of the model are the same as those of the chains. It find that the absorption properti...This paper investigates the effects of spontaneously induced coherence on absorption properties in a nearly equispaced three-level ladder-type system driven by two coherent fields. It find that the absorption properties of this system with the probe field applied on the lower transition can be significantly modified if this coherence is optimized. In the case of small spontaneous decay rate in the upper excited state, it finds that such coherence does not destroy the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). Nevertheless, the absorption peak on both sides of zero detuning and the linewidth of absorption line become larger and narrower than those in the case corresponding to the effects of spontaneously induced coherence; while in the case of large decay rate, it finds that, instead of EIT with low resonant absorption, a sharp absorption peak at resonance appears. That is, electromagnetically induced absorption in the nearly equispaced ladder-type system can occur due to such coherent effects.展开更多

The influence of blank holder p...The process parameters of aluminum alloy ladder bowl with viscous pressure forming and solid metal punch forming were numerically simulated by commercial finite element software DEFORM. The influence of blank holder pressure (BHP) on the formability of sheet metal was investigated. It was found that lower BHP does benefit to the distribution of thickness both with VPF and with solid punch forming. The forming force needed in VPF is bigger than that of with solid punch forming at the same stroke. The distribution of thickness with VPF is more uniform than that of with solid punch forming. Compared with solid punch forming, the damage values of workpiece at the top convex corner are lower by VPF. It was also shown that fracture tendency could be reduced with VPF, so that means the formability is improved. At the same time, aluminum alloy ladder bowl was manufactured with VPF. The results show that the simulation results are in agreement with the experimental data very well.展开更多

The development of a theoretical model to predict the four equilibrium forces of reaction on a simple ladder of non-adjustable length leaning against a wall has long remained an unresolved matter. The difficulty is th...The development of a theoretical model to predict the four equilibrium forces of reaction on a simple ladder of non-adjustable length leaning against a wall has long remained an unresolved matter. The difficulty is that the problem is statically indeterminate and therefore requires complementary information to obtain a unique solution. This paper reports 1) a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the three fundamental models based on treating the ladder as a single Euler-Bernoulli beam, and 2) a detailed experimental investigation of the forces of reaction as a function of applied load and location of load. In contrast to previous untested proposals that the solution to the ladder problem lay in the axial constraint on compression or the transverse constraint on flexure, the experimental outcome of the present work showed unambiguously that 1) the ladder could be modeled the best by a pinned support at the base (on the ground) and a roller support at the top (at the wall), and 2) the only complementary relation needed to resolve the static indeterminacy is the force of friction at the wall. Measurements were also made on the impact loading of a ladder by rapid ascent and descent of a climber. The results obtained were consistent with a simple dynamical model of the ladder as a linear elastic medium subject to a pulse perturbation. The solution to the ladder problem herein presented provides a basis for theoretical extension to other types of ladders. Of particular importance, given that accidents involving ladders in the workplace comprise a significant fraction of all industrial accidents, the theoretical relations reported here can help determine whether a collapsed structure, against which a ladder was applied, met regulatory safety limits or not.展开更多
