Rural Planning Based on Landscape Information Chain Theory: A Case Study of Jiabi Village in Maoba County, Lichuan City

As the most important part of the construction of beautiful countryside, village planning plays a crucial role in the construction of beautiful countryside. How to construct a beautiful village with prominent regional characteristics in line with rural natural resources and traditional culture turns out be a problem demanding prompt solution in current theoretical research and practical exploration. With the introduction of the landscape information chain theory, Jiabi Village in Maoba Town, Lichuan City was taken for example to create a complete landscape information chain where tea culture dominates and different cultures intermingle by excavating local landscape information elements, creating landscape information places, and constructing landscape information corridor, so as to create a distinctive beautiful vil age in western Hubei and accord with its positioning of "China's tea homestay culture village" and "China's couplet tea village".

Design Efficacy Evaluation of a Landscape Information Modeling-Stable Diffusion(LIM-SD)-based Approach for Ecological Engineered Landscaping Design:A Case Study of an Urban River Wetland

This study introduces a Landscape Information Modeling±Stable Diffusion(LIM±SD)-based digital workflow for ecological engineered landscaping(EEL)design,focusing on urban river wetlands.It explores how students from diverse academic backgrounds perform EEL tasks using the LIM±SD approach.A total of 30 participants,including industrial design postgraduates and landscape architecture undergraduates and postgraduates,completed the design tasks.The efficacy of their designs was assessed through expert evaluations on site appropriateness,aesthetics,spatial layout,and eco-engineering techniques of the design proposals,as well as the parametric simulation which calculated the vegetation coverage rate and proportion of riparian areas for each design.Moreover,evaluation of participants’subjective design experiences was conducted via questionnaires.Results indicated that landscape architecture postgraduates outperformed others applying ecological engineering principles.The study also elucidated discrepancies between LIM models and SD-generated renderings,as well as the uncertainty of SDgenerated renderings,suggesting improvements are needed to align digital outputs with ecological design criteria.

Application of Landscape Gene Information Chain in Tourism Development of Traditional Human Settlements:A Case Study of Daqitou Village in Sanshui District,Foshan City

Based on the aspect of historical and cultural geography, the value of "landscape gene information chain" in the tourism development of ancient villages was verified by taking cultural landscape as the principal line, historical and cultural settlement as the carriers, and traditional buildings as the entry points. Taking Daqintou Village in Sanshui District, Foshan City for example, the theory of "landscape gene information chain" was applied to design a tourism planning scheme for Daqitou Village.

Mapping ideas from cyberspace to realspace: visualizing the spatial context of keywords from web page search results

We introduce a new method for visualizing and analyzing information landscapes of ideas and events posted on public web pages through customized web-search engines and keywords.This research integrates GIScience and web-search engines to track and analyze public web pages and their web contents with associated spatial relationships.Web pages searched by clusters of keywords were mapped with real-world coordinates(by geolocating their Internet Protocol addresses).The resulting maps represent web information landscapes consisting of hundreds of populated web pages searched by selected keywords.By creating a Spatial Web Automatic Reasoning and Mapping System prototype,researchers can visualize the spread of web pages associated with specific keywords,concepts,ideas,or news over time and space.These maps may reveal important spatial relationships and spatial context associated with selected keywords.This approach may provide a new research direction for geographers to study the diffusion of human thought and ideas.A better understanding of the spatial and temporal dynamics of the‘collective thinking of human beings’over the Internet may help us understand various innovation diffusion processes,human behaviors,and social movements around the world.
