The Axiology of Consciousness in Mocombeian Consciousness Field Theory

This work explores the axiology of consciousness in Mocombe’s consciousness field in the material world.The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory(CFT)within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature,origin,and constitution of consciousness in the universe.The work goes on to highlight the manifestation of Mocombe’s consciousness field in the material resource framework that is the earth,and the nature and origins of ethics and values.

Quantum Mechanics and the Philosophy of Language:Reconsideration of Traditional Philosophies

Recently we proposed “a new interpretation of quantum mechanics (called quantum and classical measurement theory)” in this journal (JQIS: Vol. 1, No. 2), which was characterized as the metaphysical and linguistic turn of quantum mechanics. This turn from physics to language does not only realize the remarkable extension of quantum mechanics but also yield the quantum mechanical world view (i.e., the philosophy of quantum mechanics). And thus, the turn urges us to dream that traditional philosophies (i.e., Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, John Locke, Berkeley, Hume, Kant, Saussure, Wittgenstein, etc.) can be understood in the quantum mechanical world view. This dream will be challenged in this paper. We, of course, know that most scientists are skeptical to philosophy. Still, we can expect that readers find a good linguistic philosophy (i.e. philosophy of language) in quantum mechanics.

Consciousness Field Theory and Antihuman Psychology

Against behaviorism,humanism,and cognitive psychology,this work explores Mocombe’s antihuman psychology as a product of his consciousness field theory.The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature,origin,and constitution of consciousness,especially human consciousness,vis-à-vis their relations to the psychological theories of behaviorism,humanism,and cognitivism,concluding that consciousness field theory posits an alternative psychological theory of the mind,i.e.,antihuman psychology,to behaviorist,humanist,and cognitivist conceptions of the mind.

Gede and Homosexuality

This article argues that the Haitian Vodou spirits(lwas)of fertility and death,Gede,do not promote homosexuality or the fluidity of sexuality in Haitian culture.The latter position is a Western reading of Gede grounded in postmodern and post-structural identity theorizing.Gede in Haitian ontology and epistemology is lwas of fertility and death not sexual identity confusion or fluidity.

From the Consciousness Field to the Constitution of Society

This work explores the phenomenological structural basis of Mocombe’s consciousness field theory.The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature,origin,and constitution of consciousness in the universe.The work goes on to highlight how human consciousness and society are constituted from Mocombe’s consciousness field to societal social structure,which Mocombe calls social class language game.

Mocombeian Nominalism

This article attempts to outline Paul C.Mocombe’s nominalism as highlighted in his theory of phenomenological structuralism(PS).Mocombe posits that the human mind or consciousness is presented with brute facts and things of the multiverse,which it attempts to reify and universalize through concepts of language and mathematics.So,the facts and things of the world exist irrespective of the human mind,which simply highlights and categorizes them in order to experience being-in-the-world with others and things they encounter.

Religious(Islamic)Culture Pluralism to Wittgenstein and Gadamer(A Comparative Study)

The current study aims to explain the fundamentals of religious pluralism in Wittgenstein later philosophy and Gadamer philosophical hermeneutics,specifically regarding culture.It,then,proposes the approach more suitable for the Islamic context.Having fulfilled such an objective,pluralism,concerning religious rituals,becomes accepted and cultural and religious interaction is realized without any relativism conclusion.Wittgenstein’s pluralism results in pure relativism.That is to say,in order to understand the rules of the language game and life style he mentions,one needs to be placed inside.However,it is a dialectical model that Gadamer philosophical hermeneutics leads to.Dialogue gives opportunity to cultural interaction and convergence,developing the religious culture.The latter is of more proximity to Islamic resources such as the Quran,proposing a religious culture transcending cultural,historical,and social limitations.All in all,the two significant features of Gadamer’s which Wittgenstein ignores are first,the interaction of religious pluralism encouraging the development of religious culture and second,reciprocal relation between culture and religion based on hermeneutics circle.
