The results show that cracking in the surfacing welding layer is directly related to the producing of eutectic phase β' (NiAl) in the interdendritic region and high thermal stress within the surfacing welding layer. When the process of electric arc surfacing welding is changed from along straight line to along' Z' pattern, cracking in the surfacing welding layer of Ni3Al based alloy is prevented due to being reduced of both the cooling rate of liquid in the molten pool and the moving speed of the heat source. Reducing the melting volume of the substrate material by lowering the output power of electric arc welding would make the content of iron atoms in the molten pool decrease. and this also can reduce the trend of the eutectic reaction in the interdendfitic region and is helpful to Suppress cracking in the surfacing welding layer.展开更多

Two acrylic coating systems including trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) and pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETA) were prepared. A soft base layer was introduced as an intermediate layer between two different types of top layer and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) substrate to demonstrate the effect of soft base layer on mar and abrasion resistance. Abrasion damage on the coating surface was found to be less severe, when the soft base layer was incorporated into the coating systems. The reduction in scratch coefficient of friction (SCOF) and surface roughness was also observed. The results suggested that mar and abrasion resistance was greatly influenced by the presence of soft base layer, although different top layers were used. Moreover, it was found that abrasion resistance was further improved as the thicker soft base layer was applied.展开更多

It consists of alternative liquid crystal layers and metallic slats. Separate sharp resonant peaks are shown in the simulated transmission spectra, and their positions shift toward higher frequencies when the refractive index of liquid crystal decreases. The measured transmission spectra are consistent with corresponding simulations. Via thermally tuning the refractive index of the filled liquid crystal, the resonant transmission frequencies shift accordingly. The work supplies a novel design for tunable terahertz filters, which would play important roles in terahertz imaging, sensing, high speed communication, and security applications.展开更多

However, the long-term effect of the polymer is thought to initiate and sustain an inflammatory response and contribute to the occurrence of late complications. Our study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the BuMA biodegradable drug-coated sirolimus-eluting stent (BSES) for inhibiting neointimal hyperplasia in a porcine coronary model. Methods Four types of stents were implanted at random in different coronary arteries of the same pig: BSES (n=24), bare metal stent (BMS) (n=24), biodegradable polymer coated stent without drug (PCS) (n=24) and only poly (n-butyl methacrylate) base layer coated stent (EGS) (n=23). In total, 26 animals underwent successful random placement of 95 oversized stents in the coronary arteries. Coronary angiography was performed after 28 days, 90 days and 240 days of stent implantation. After 14 days, 28 days, 90 days and 240 days, 6 animals at each timepoint were sacrificed for histomorphologic analysis. Results The 28-day, 90-day and 240-day results of quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) showed reduction in luminal loss (LL) in the BSES group when compared with the BMS group; (0.20±0.35) mm vs. (0.82±0.51) mm (P=-0.035), (0.20±0.30) mm vs. (0.93±0.51) mm (P=-0.013), and (0.18±0.16) mm vs. (0.19±0.24) mm (P=0.889), respectively. By 28-day, 90-day and 240-day histomorphomeric analysis results, there was also a corresponding significant reduction in neointimal tissue proliferation with similar injury scores of BSES compared with the BMS control; average neointimal area (0.90±0.49) mm2 vs. (2.16±1.29) mm2 (P=0.049), (1.53±0.84) mm2 vs. (3.41±1.55) mm2 (P=-0.026), and (2.43±0.95) mm2 vs. (3.12±1.16) mm2 (P=0.228), respectively. High magnification histomorphologic examination revealed similar inflammation scores and endothelialization scores in both the BSES and BMS groups. Conclusions The BuMA biodegradable drug-coated sirolimus-eluting stents can significantly reduce neointimal hyperplasia and in-stent restenosis. Re-endothelialization of the BuMA stent is as good as that of the BMS in the porcine coronary model due to the reduced inflammation response to the BuMA stent.展开更多

Assigning the same or adjacent frequencies to cells close to each other will introduce co-channel and adjacent channel interference which will reduce network performance. Traditionally, man power is used to check and allocate new frequencies which is time consuming and the accuracy is not satisfactory. This paper presents an intelligent analysis method for optimization of co-channel and adjacent channel interference by exploiting cell configuration information. The method defines an interference evaluation model by analyzing various factors such as the base station layer, the azimuth ward relationship, and the cell neighborhood relationships. The interference for each frequency is evaluated and the problem frequencies are optimized. This method is verified by a large number of actual datasets from an in-service GSM network. The results show this method has better intelligence, accuracy, timeliness, and visualization than traditional methods.展开更多

Pavements of three different flexural strengths as well as two different subgrades, a soft bituminous layer and a more rigid layer known as econocrete, were tested. In addition to this, cracking near two types of isolated transition joints, a reinforced edge joint and a thickened edge joint, was considered. The pavement sections were tested using a moving load simulating that of an aircraft. It has been determined that the degree of cracking was reduced as the flexural strength of the pavement was increased and that fewer cracks formed over the econocrete base than over the bituminous base. In addition, the thickened edge transition joint was more effective in preventing cracking at the edges compared to the reinforced edge joint.展开更多
