First we get an estimate of the 0, 1 distribution by using the estimates of exponential sums over Galois rings, which is tight for e relatively small to n. We also get an estimate which is suitable for e relatively large to n. Combining the two bounds, we obtain an estimate depending only on n, which shows that the larger n is, the closer to 1/2 the proportion of 1 will be.展开更多

On the basis of study on the sequence stratigraphy in more than 10 sections in Guizhou, Guangxi, Longmenshan and Southern Qinling within South China we have identified 21 sequences and T-R cycles that correspond to third-order sea level changes. These sea level change cycles were controlled by autorhythm(Pragian,Eifelian), allorhythm(Lochkovian,Emsian,Givetian) and coupling rhythm mechanisms (frasian, Famennian and F-F boundary).展开更多

A study of the relationship between the process of development and evolution of the sequential step-variation and the regional seismicity indicated that the sequential step-variation anomalies are rather better in coincidence with the time, magnitude and frequency of regional seismic activities, which may predict the seismicity trend in months. Furthermore, on this basis, if the water level changes in a characteristic manner, the seismic regime during the time period from several days to 20 days or more may be evaluated. By using the method presented in this paper we had a prediction about the Baotou ML=6.6 earthquake on May 3, 1996. This event occurred within the predicted time span but with a less magnitude and a little location deviation.展开更多

Rice is the main staple food worldwide. More than 50% of rice in the world is rain-fed and drought causes severe reduction in rice grain yield in rain-fed environments (Venuprasad et al., 2007; Zhang, 2007; Sandhu et al., 2014). Therefore, enhancing drought resistance (DR) of rice is important for food security. However, DR is a complex trait, which is controlled by a large number of loci with small effect and is also affected by different genetic background, genotype-by-environment interaction and other stresses such as heat (Hu and Xiong, 2014).展开更多
