We first present the statistical analyses of the first-hop equivalent envelope. Then, we investigate the LCR and AFD of an equivalent end-to-end envelope, and present the closed-form solutions to LCR and AFD, which are given with integral forms. Finally, we derive the Laplace approximations of LCR and AFD as well as the upper and lower bounds. The numerical results of LCR show that the upper bound is tight. For multi user systems with different number of mobile users, the analyses indicate that the LCRs are approximately the same at the low level of the envelope. envelope However, there are at the high level of the reasonable differences among the curves of LCRs. Due to that fact that AFD is the inverse function of LCR, the results for AFD are the opposite.展开更多

After the first water impounding in 2003, seismic activity becomes more frequent than that before water impoundment. In order to quantitatively study, the relationship between the water level fluctuation and earthquakes in TGR, we introduced statistical methods to attain the goal. First of all, we relocated the earthquakes in TGR region with double difference method and divided the earthquakes into 5 clusters with clustering analysis method. Secondly, to examine the impacts of water level fluctuation in different water filling stages on the seismic activity in the 5 clusters, a series of statistical analyses are applied. Pearson correlation results show that only the 175 m water level fluc- tuation has significantly positive impacts on the seismic activity in clusters I, II, III and V with correlation coefficients of 0.44, 0.38, 0.66 and 0.63. Cross-correlation analysis demonstrates that 0, ], 0 and 0 month time delay separately for the clusters I, II, III and V exists. It illustrated the influences of the water loading and pore pressure diffusion on induced earthquakes. Cointegration tests and impulse response analysis denoted that the 175 m water level only had long term and significant effects just on the seismic events in the intersection region of the Fairy Mount Fault and Nine-brook Fault. One standard deviation shock to 175 m water level increased the seismic activity in cluster V for the first 3 months, and then the negative influence was shown. After 7 months, the negative impulse response becomes stable. The long-term effect of the 175 m water impoundment also proved the important role of pore pressure diffusion in RIS with time.展开更多

Generally, a good agreement is obtained between our results and the earlier theoretical photoionization cross sections. Moreover, we have used two independent fully relativistic GRASP and FAC codes to calculate fine-structure energy levels, wavelengths, oscillator strengths, transitions rates among the lowest 48 levels belonging to the configuration(3s^23p^4, 3s3p^5, 3p^6, 3s^23p^33d) in Ni XIII. Additionally, radiative lifetimes of all the excited states of Ni XIII are presented. Our results of the atomic structure of Ni XIII show good agreement with other theoretical and experimental results available in the literature. A good agreement is found between our calculated lifetimes and the experimental ones. Our present results are useful for plasma diagnostic of fusion and astrophysical plasmas.展开更多

We construct a set of exact coherent states of the quantum system and from the exact solutions reveal that quantum signatures of chaos can be induced by the adiabatic interaction between the trapped ion and the laser standing wave, where the quantum expectation values of position and momentum correspond to the classically chaotic orbit. The chaotic region on the phase space is illustrated. The energy crossing and quantum resonance in time evolution and the exponentially increased Heisenberg uncertainty are found. The results suggest a theoretical scheme for controlling the unstable regular and chaotic motions.展开更多

Recently, the quantum-classic analogy has been rapidly developing and can be considered responsible for the implementation of the adiabatic transfer of sound energy in cavity chain systems. In this article, we investigate the adiabatic transfer of sound energy between two topological end states in the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger(SSH) cavity chain, which can be considered to be the acoustic analog of the quantum chirped-pulse excitation. The topological adiabatic passage in SSH cavity chain has two categories. When the single-cavity resonance frequencies on the sublattices A and B in the SSH cavity chain do not switch their spectrum positions, the topologically protected adiabatic evolution results in the returning passage of the sound excited in one end cavity. When a level crossing with single-cavity resonance frequencies on the sublattices A and B exhibits switch in the frequency spectrum, acoustic energy is observed to be topologically pumped between the two end cavities of the SSH chain.展开更多

The most fundamental parameter, POD, is normally related to a number of factors such as the event of interest, the sensitivity of the sensor, the installation quality of the system, and the reliability of the sensing equipment. The suppression of nuisance alarms without degrading sensitivity in fiber optic intrusion detection systems is key to maintaining acceptable performance. Signal processing algorithms that maintain the POD and eliminate nuisance alarms are crucial for achieving this. In this paper, a robust event classification system using supervised neural networks together with a level crossings (LCs) based feature extraction algorithm is presented for the detection and recognition of intrusion and non-intrusion events in a fence-based fiber-optic intrusion detection system. A level crossings algorithm is also used with a dynamic threshold to suppress torrential rain-induced nuisance alarms in a fence system. Results show that rain-induced nuisance alarms can be suppressed for rainfall rates in excess of 100mm/hr with the simultaneous detection of intrusion events. The use of a level crossing based detection and novel classification algorithm is also presented for a buried pipeline fiber optic intrusion detection system for the suppression of nuisance events and discrimination of intrusion events. The sensor employed for both types of systems is a distributed bidirectional fiber-optic Mach-Zehnder (MZ) interferometer.展开更多
