In this paper,two lifting mechanism models with opposing placements,which use the same hydraulic hoist model and have the same angle of 50°,have been developed.The mechanical and hydraulic simulation models are e...In this paper,two lifting mechanism models with opposing placements,which use the same hydraulic hoist model and have the same angle of 50°,have been developed.The mechanical and hydraulic simulation models are established using MATLAB Simscape to analyze their kinetics and dynamics in the lifting and holding stages.The simulation findings are compared to the analytical calculation results in the steady state,and both methods show good agreement.In the early lifting stage,Model 1 produces greater force and discharges goods in the container faster than Model 2.Meanwhile,Model 2 reaches a higher force and ejects goods from the container cleaner than its counterpart at the end lifting stage.The established simulation models can consider the effects of dynamic loads due to inertial moments and forces generated during the system operation.It is crucial in studying,designing,and optimizing the structure of hydraulic-mechanical systems.展开更多

Facial sagging is a major aging change that affects the overall shape of the face. Sagging can negatively impact self-perception and consequently quality of life. In order to fight against this aging sign, we develope...Facial sagging is a major aging change that affects the overall shape of the face. Sagging can negatively impact self-perception and consequently quality of life. In order to fight against this aging sign, we developed a combination of three active ingredients: Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine (THPE), Ononis Spinosa extract and Glycerin. In a clinical study, we assessed the efficacy of this association on facial sagging and wrinkles, with a special focus on immediate and lasting effects. Thirty-nine women applied the tested product daily during an eight-week treatment period. Clinical grading by experts and a new, easy to operate, 2-D imaging method were performed at different time points. The 2-D imaging method measured the upper eyelid lifting effect. The results showed an immediate and significant improvement in sagging and wrinkle parameters;these benefits were still observed seven hours after the first application. Results also showed a significant long-term improvement. The lifting effect calculated from the 2-D pictures was 1.08 mm immediately after application;the same method showed a 1.80 mm lifting effect following the eight-week treatment period. These results suggest that a skin care product combining THPE, Ononis Spinosa and Glycerin properties may be used to reduce sagging as well as wrinkles with both immediate and long term benefits.展开更多

The paper proposes to enhance the data literacy ability of teachers from the perspective of organizational learning. Through building a digital culture, building a data-driven teaching environment, and constructing an interdisciplinary learning community to further promote the application of the theory and practice of datafication inside and outside the organization, and ultimately improve the quality of teaching.展开更多

The conventional classifiers require large training data set;however, practically limi...Supervised classification of hyperspectral images is a challenging task because of the higher dimensionality of a pixel signature. The conventional classifiers require large training data set;however, practically limited numbers of labeled pixels are available due to complexity and cost involved in sample collection. It is essential to have a method that can reduce such higher dimensional data into lower dimensional feature space without the loss of useful information. For classification purpose, it will be useful if such a method takes into account the nature of the underlying signal when extracting lower dimensional feature vector. The lifting framework provides the required flexibility. This article proposes the adaptive lifting wavelet transform to extract the lower dimensional feature vectors for the classification of hyperspectral signatures. The proposed adaptive update step allows the decomposition filter to adapt to the input signal so as to retain the desired characteristics of the signal. A three-layer feed forward neural network is used as a supervised classifier to classify the extracted features. The effectiveness of the proposed method is tested on two hyperspectral data sets (HYDICE & ROSIS sensors). The performance of the proposed method is compared with first generation discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based feature extraction method and previous studies that use the same data. The indices used for measuring performance are overall classification accuracy and Kappa value. The experimental results show that the proposed adaptive lifting scheme (ALS) has excellent results with a small size training set.展开更多
