In the model,a great variety of descriptive forms of the multi-sensory evaluation are also taken into consideration. As a result, the method proves effective in reducing redundant indexes and minimizing index overlaps without compromising the integrity of the evaluation system. By applying the model in a multi-sensory evaluation involving community public information service facilities, the research shows that the results are satisfactory when using genetic algorithm optimized BP neural network as a calculation tool. It shows that using the reduced and simplified set of indicators has a better predication performance than the initial set,and 2-tuple and rough set based model offers an efficient way to reduce indicator redundancy and improves prediction capability of the evaluation model.展开更多

In this paper, Herrera-Martfnez's 2-Tuple linguistic representation model is extended for reasoning with uncertain and qualitative information in Dezert-Smarandache Theory (DSmT) framework, in order to overcome the limitations of current approaches, i.e., the lack of precision in the final results of linguistic information fusion according to 1-Tuple representation ( q1 )- The linguistic information which expresses the expert's qualitative beliefs is expressed by means of mixed 2 Tuples (equidistant linguistic labels with a numeric biased value). Together with the 2-Tuple representation model, some basic operators are presented to carry out the fusion operation among qualitative information sources. At last, through simple example how 2-Tuple qualitative DSmT-based (q2 DSmT) fusion rules can be used for qualitative reasoning and fusion under uncertainty, which advantage is also showed by comparing with other methods.展开更多

So far, many approaches have been developed for tackling the process of screening product innovations. Due to uncertain, vague and incomplete information as well as dynamically complex process regarding to new product development (NPD), a fuzzy linguistic approach employed linguistic assessments and the fuzzy-set-based computation is reasonable for screening new products. However, such a fuzzy linguistic approach faces with various defects and limitations, such as loss of information, failing in considering the aspects related to human nature on uncertain subjective judgments etc. These defects and limitations lead to a dilemma, i.e., it's very difficult to screen new product projects reasonably and precisely. In this paper, we propose a notion of proportional 3-tuple to represent a linguistic assessment and related ignoring information, and a preference-preserving proportional 3-tuple transformation for the unification of linguistic assessments represented by proportional 3-tuples between two different linguistic term sets. On this basis, a proportional 3-tuple fuzzy linguistic representation model for screening new product projects is developed. It is shown that the proposed model is flexible to handle uncertain, vague and incomplete information related to screening new product projects. It not only allows evaluators to express their subjective judgments with different confidence levels, but is also able to deal with incomplete linguistic assessments. Ultimately, the proposed model also improves the precision and reasonability of the screening result.展开更多

The article does not try to offer a comprehensive overview of language acquisition mechanisms, but rather it intends to review more narrowly how our conceptual systems, governed by intricately linked networks of neural connections in the brain, make language development possible, at the same time creating some L2 processing problems. Vocabulary acquisition and application has been one of the main issues in English as a Second Language (ESL)/English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning and teaching research. EFL instructors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular, are coping with the effective vocabulary teaching approaches. The current paper will examine three principles based on cognitive linguistics (CL), namely the study of categorization, prototype, and metaphor, and applications of these principles in formal vocabulary instruction in a Bosnian context of English learning in Bosnia and Herzegovina.展开更多
