Bedding slope is a typical heterogeneous slope consisting of different soil/rock layers and is likely to slide along the weakest interface.Conventional slope protection methods for bedding slopes,such as retaining wal...Bedding slope is a typical heterogeneous slope consisting of different soil/rock layers and is likely to slide along the weakest interface.Conventional slope protection methods for bedding slopes,such as retaining walls,stabilizing piles,and anchors,are time-consuming and labor-and energy-intensive.This study proposes an innovative polymer grout method to improve the bearing capacity and reduce the displacement of bedding slopes.A series of large-scale model tests were carried out to verify the effectiveness of polymer grout in protecting bedding slopes.Specifically,load-displacement relationships and failure patterns were analyzed for different testing slopes with various dosages of polymer.Results show the great potential of polymer grout in improving bearing capacity,reducing settlement,and protecting slopes from being crushed under shearing.The polymer-treated slopes remained structurally intact,while the untreated slope exhibited considerable damage when subjected to loads surpassing the bearing capacity.It is also found that polymer-cemented soils concentrate around the injection pipe,forming a fan-shaped sheet-like structure.This study proves the improvement of polymer grouting for bedding slope treatment and will contribute to the development of a fast method to protect bedding slopes from landslides.展开更多

However, the related studies at present are still qualitative. In this paper, quantitative analysis of the interaction between roots and soil mass are made. By the analysis of the interaction between herbaceous plant roots including lateral roots of woody plants and rock and soil mass, a mechanical model of the interaction between frictional roots and soil is established, and its correctness is shown. A mechanical model of the interaction between anchorage root, namely, woody plant taproot, and soil is also established. Root length and root length density of Lespedeza bicolor,Amorpha fruticosa,and Sea buckthorn were investigated in a country highway-TongSan highway(Tongjiang to Sanya) in Heilongjiang Province,China.The root lengths...Root length and root length density of Lespedeza bicolor,Amorpha fruticosa,and Sea buckthorn were investigated in a country highway-TongSan highway(Tongjiang to Sanya) in Heilongjiang Province,China.The root lengths were divided into five root orders according to Pregizter sequence classification method.Results show that sea buckthorn roots are dominated by coarse roots in the horizontal growth,while L.bicolor has a large proportion of fine roots in vertical conical growth and A.fruticosa is in depth growth.Root length density of L.bicolor in all the root sequences is higher than that of sea buckthorn and A.fruticosa.On the basis of the root structure,it is inferred that L.bicolor roots mainly absorb the surface soil moisture for its normal growth;in contrast,A.fruticosa has good uptake ability to deep soil water.The root structure of sea buckthorn implies that it has a strong drought resistance.展开更多

A novel pilot protection for VSC-HVDC transmission lines based on correlation analysis is proposed in this paper. In the principle, external fault is equivalent to a positive capacitance model, so the correlation coefficient of the current and voltage derivative is 1;while the internal fault is equivalent to a negative capacitance model, so the correlation coefficient of the current and voltage derivative is -1. Internal faults and external faults can be distinguished by judging the correlation coefficient. Theoretical analysis and PSCAD simulation experiments show that the new principle, which is simple, not affected by transition resistance, control type and line distributed capacitance current, can identify internal faults and external faults reliably and rapidly, having certain practical value.展开更多

The measured impedance based on EDA is affected by various factors, such as the distributed capacitance, the transient response characteristics of current transformer and voltage transformer, etc. In order to overcome this problem, the proposed scheme applies HHT to improve the apparent impedance estimated by DEA. Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is used to decompose the data set from DEA into the intrinsic mode functions (IMF) and the residue. This residue has monotonic trend and is used to evaluate the impedance of faulty line. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves significantly the accuracy of the estimated impedance.展开更多

Using the characteristics of symmetric current wave-form induced by lightning stroke without causing fault and that of asymmetric current waveform generated by fault within a very short time interval, the waveform of transient current above and below time-axes are integrated respec-tively. First, through comparing the relative ratio of them with threshold value, the primary criterion identifying fault and lightning stroke is constructed;Secondly, to improve the reliability of discrimination between lightning stroke with and without causing fault, according to the difference of them, the secondary criterion is also defined. Some correlative parameters of protection coal pillar are calculated by Drop face and Drop line methods. Models of protecting surface objects and coal pillars are established by TIN modeling and object-oriented technique. By using ACCESS2000as the database and the VC++ and OpenGL as the language, the calculation of protective coal pillars is realized and the 3D-visulizaiton system for protected objects on ground surface and for coal pillars is developed. The system can obtain the data of characteristic points on the surface interactively from the digitized mine topography map, constructing 3D model automatically. It can also obtain the interrelated parameters of the coal seam and drill hole data from existing geolog!cal surveying database to calculate the location, surface area and the total coal columns. The whole process can be computed quickly and accurately. And the 3D visualization system was applied in a mine, showing that the system solve the problem of complex calculation, not only realized the automatic 3D mapping and visualization of coal pillars for buildings protection, but also greatly improves the working efficiency.展开更多

Even though current technology provides satisfactory solutions to manage this new situation, LOM (loss-of-mains protection) is still considered problematic. The solution proposed in this paper focuses on the use of a line differential protection relay. It inherently contains a suitable communication channel and provides absolutely selective protection for the feeder. Furthermore, it prevents the feeder relays from false tripping for faults on the neighboring feeder. The present trend in protection communication points towards the use of fiber optics. For line differential protection, this means a fast and high-capacity communication link which enables the implementation of many advanced protection functions. In addition, a solid foundation for such a communication link is offered by the new IEC 61850 standard and Ethernet technologies. The basic functionality of the line differential protection enables the operation of both the feeder protection and the DG protection for any fault on the feeder. Furthermore, basic LOM protection methods can be applied as backup protection for failures on the communication link.展开更多

Models of protecting surface objects and coal pillars are established by TIN modeling and object-oriented technique. By using ACCESS2000as the database and the VC++ and OpenGL as the language, the calculation of protective coal pillars is realized and the 3D-visulizaiton system for protected objects on ground surface and for coal pillars is developed. The system can obtain the data of characteristic points on the surface interactively from the digitized mine topography map, constructing 3D model automatically. It can also obtain the interrelated parameters of the coal seam and drill hole data from existing geolog!cal surveying database to calculate the location, surface area and the total coal columns. The whole process can be computed quickly and accurately. And the 3D visualization system was applied in a mine, showing that the system solve the problem of complex calculation, not only realized the automatic 3D mapping and visualization of coal pillars for buildings protection, but also greatly improves the working efficiency.
文摘We present the discovery of 18 narrow line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1). The optical spectra show the Balmer lines only slightly broader than the forbidden lines and contain strong Fe Ⅱ emission. No particularly soft X ray spectral slopes can be seen compared to a normal Seyfert 1 galaxies sample.

文摘The protection of distribution networks is facing new challenges from an increasing amount of DG (distributed generation). Even though current technology provides satisfactory solutions to manage this new situation, LOM (loss-of-mains protection) is still considered problematic. The solution proposed in this paper focuses on the use of a line differential protection relay. It inherently contains a suitable communication channel and provides absolutely selective protection for the feeder. Furthermore, it prevents the feeder relays from false tripping for faults on the neighboring feeder. The present trend in protection communication points towards the use of fiber optics. For line differential protection, this means a fast and high-capacity communication link which enables the implementation of many advanced protection functions. In addition, a solid foundation for such a communication link is offered by the new IEC 61850 standard and Ethernet technologies. The basic functionality of the line differential protection enables the operation of both the feeder protection and the DG protection for any fault on the feeder. Furthermore, basic LOM protection methods can be applied as backup protection for failures on the communication link.
