Evolution Performance of Symbolic Radial Basis Function Neural Network by Using Evolutionary Algorithms

Radial Basis Function Neural Network(RBFNN)ensembles have long suffered from non-efficient training,where incorrect parameter settings can be computationally disastrous.This paper examines different evolutionary algorithms for training the Symbolic Radial Basis Function Neural Network(SRBFNN)through the behavior’s integration of satisfiability programming.Inspired by evolutionary algorithms,which can iteratively find the nearoptimal solution,different Evolutionary Algorithms(EAs)were designed to optimize the producer output weight of the SRBFNN that corresponds to the embedded logic programming 2Satisfiability representation(SRBFNN-2SAT).The SRBFNN’s objective function that corresponds to Satisfiability logic programming can be minimized by different algorithms,including Genetic Algorithm(GA),Evolution Strategy Algorithm(ES),Differential Evolution Algorithm(DE),and Evolutionary Programming Algorithm(EP).Each of these methods is presented in the steps in the flowchart form which can be used for its straightforward implementation in any programming language.With the use of SRBFNN-2SAT,a training method based on these algorithms has been presented,then training has been compared among algorithms,which were applied in Microsoft Visual C++software using multiple metrics of performance,including Mean Absolute Relative Error(MARE),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE),Mean Bias Error(MBE),Systematic Error(SD),Schwarz Bayesian Criterion(SBC),and Central Process Unit time(CPU time).Based on the results,the EP algorithm achieved a higher training rate and simple structure compared with the rest of the algorithms.It has been confirmed that the EP algorithm is quite effective in training and obtaining the best output weight,accompanied by the slightest iteration error,which minimizes the objective function of SRBFNN-2SAT.

Energy evolution mechanism and failure criteria of jointed surrounding rock under uniaxial compression

The object of this article is to investigate the energy evolution mechanism and failure criteria of cross-jointed samples containing an opening during deformation and failure based on the uniaxial compression test and rock energy principle.The results show that the energy evolution characteristics of the samples correspond to a typical progressive damage mode.The peak total energy,peak elastic energy,and total input energy of the samples all first decrease and then increase with an increase of half of the included angle,reaching their minimum values when this angle is 45°,while the dissipated energy generally increases with this angle.The existence of the opening and cross joints can obviously weaken the energy storage capacity of the rock,and the change in the included angle of the cross joint has a great influence on the elastic energy ratio of the sample before the peak stress,which leads to some differences in the distribution laws of the input energy.The continuous change and the subsequent sharp change in the rate of change in the energy consumption ratio can be used as the criteria of the crack initiation and propagation and the unstable failure of the sample,respectively.

Software Selection in Manufacturing Industries Using a Fuzzy Multiple Criteria Decision Making Method, PROMETHEE

This paper presents an effective decision making framework for software selection in manufacturing industries using a multiple criteria decision making method, Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations (PROMETHEE). The method is improved in the present work by integrating with analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and the fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic is introduced to handle the imprecision of the human decision making process. The proposed decision making framework is practical for ranking competing software products in terms of their overall performance with respect to multiple criteria. An example is included to illustrate the approach.

Optimization in Site Selection of Wind Turbine for Energy Using Fuzzy Logic System and GIS—A Case Study for Gujarat

The development of new wind energy project requires studying of many parameters to achieve maximum benefits at the cost of minimum environmental impacts. Using Geographic Information System (GIS), an analytical framework has been developed in this paper with fuzzy logic to evaluate the suitable site for turbines for optimum energy output. The criteria for suitable site for energy optimization are environmental, physical and human factors. The present study helps to assess the appropriate sites for the wind turbines in Gujarat. The result obtained from the study conveys the suitability of the development of wind turbines along the western parts of Gujarat. The suggested model could be used for the future site selection of the wind turbine which in turn could be of orientation for energy planners and decision makers.

Autonomous Evolutionary Information Systems

Traditional information systems are passive, i.e., data or knowledge is created, retrieved, modified, updated, and deleted only in response to operations issued by users or application programs, and the systems only can execute queries or transactions explicitly submitted by users or application programs but have no ability to do something actively by themselves. Unlike a traditional information system serving just as a storehouse of data or knowledge and working passively according to queries or transactions explicitly issued by users and application programs, an autonomous evolutionary information system serves as an autonomous and evolutionary partner of its users that discovers new knowledge from its database or knowledge base autonomously, cooperates with its users in solving problems actively by providing the users with advices, and has a certain mechanism to improve its own state of “knowing” and ability of “working”. This paper seminally defines what is an autonomous evolutionary information system, explain why autonomous evolutionary information systems are needed, and presents some new issues, fundamental considerations, and research directions in design and development of autonomous evolutionary information systems.

Informal Logic： Between Logic and Epistemology

Nowadays researchers working in various fields study the issues of argument. They represent different approaches which distinguish with theoretical and practical comprehension of argument problems. Informal study of argument is one of the approaches. The key reason of its appearance was the criticism of formal logic in the late 20th century. Researchers consider the argument from the different point of view. Formal dialectics and pragma-dialectics were based on dialectics. Contemporary rhetorical theories of argument were created on the rhetorical grounds; theory of speech acts on the basis of practical philosophy etc.. This paper is devoted to some theoretical problems of informal logic which was formed on the logic background in the late 70＇s. In spite of numerous papers, books, and text-books on informal logic published over the last thirty years, logicians has not achieved consensus so far on many issues. Among the numerous problems are： what is the subject matter of informal logic？ Does informal logic belong to the realm of logic？ Is it applied epistemology？ What is a real argument？ And what are the criteria for evaluating of such arguments？

Ecological Accounting: A Research Review and Conceptual Framework

Where sustainable development is concerned, there is an urgent need to establish new information systems that integrate economic, social and ecological factors. The emergence of demand for this information makes the development of ecological accounting possible. Yet, most current research on ecological accounting focuses on two aspects: (1) the theoretical aspect, including background, concepts and models and (2) specific research on ecological accounting. Some scholars have proposed a conceptual framework, but this is not systematic or thorough enough. Seizing the opportunity of sustainable development in a key strategic location of the world, this paper begins by analyzing the logical evolution of ecological accounting, summarizes the existing ecological accounting theory, and combines the mature theoretical study of resources accounting with environmental accounting. All of these efforts result in this paper forwarding a framework of ecological accounting that aims to provide a guideline for future development.

Airfoil Shape Optimisation Using a Multi-Fidelity Surrogate-Assisted Metaheuristic with a New Multi-Objective Infill Sampling Technique

This work presents multi-fidelity multi-objective infill-sampling surrogate-assisted optimization for airfoil shape optimization.The optimization problem is posed to maximize the lift and drag coefficient ratio subject to airfoil geometry constraints.Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)and XFoil tools are used for high and low-fidelity simulations of the airfoil to find the real objective function value.A special multi-objective sub-optimization problem is proposed for multiple points infill sampling exploration to improve the surrogate model constructed.To validate and further assess the proposed methods,a conventional surrogate-assisted optimization method and an infill sampling surrogate-assisted optimization criterion are applied with multi-fidelity simulation,while their numerical performance is investigated.The results obtained show that the proposed technique is the best performer for the demonstrated airfoil shape optimization.According to this study,applying multi-fidelity with multi-objective infill sampling criteria for surrogate-assisted optimization is a powerful design tool.

在地国际化是后疫情时期我国高等教育国际化的重要发展趋势。它是高等教育内涵式发展的重要动力,是应对国际环境深刻变化的科学方略,是满足广大学生需求的有效途径,但面临评价导向与实践目标错位、在地国际化资源利用效率不高、在线国际教育效果难以保障、高校国际化发展协同效应不强等主要挑战和困境。分析归纳欧洲高等教育在地国际化共性要素,并基于此提出从观念上扭转“西化从属观”与“困境工具观”,从组织上搭建“三位一体”协调机制,从内容上完善课程国际化,从评价上引导高校特色发展,从技术上促进虚拟互动。

未来可持续供应链的内涵、发展逻辑及策略研究

政治风云动荡、经济增长乏力、资源消耗量大、环境治理压力大等诸多困境的影响,使可持续发展成为值得研究的重要课题。文章剖析了可持续供应链的内涵,概括了可持续供应链的六大基本特征:低碳、低能耗、少污染、高社会责任、高透明度和可追溯性。采用扎根理论和多案例研究方法,并按照理念萌芽、理念践行和理念再传播三个阶段归纳总结了可持续供应链发展逻辑与价值演化逻辑。从主体、技术、设施和环境四个角度提出未来供应链可持续发展的多主体协同策略、供应链数字化转型策略、韧性供应链体系策略以及政府营造的可持续发展环境策略,以期为新形势下供应链可持续发展提供借鉴。

零售收缩背景下商业稳定性的空间规律——以北京前门地区为例

近年来新冠疫情引发城市部分区域出现零售收缩问题,但也为深入挖掘各类商业变化背后的空间规律提供了机会。基于百度街景时光机和实地调研,详细记录了2017和2022年北京前门地区商业的更名、改行和存续情况,并基于多元回归综合距离、拓扑、聚集三种空间规律对各条街道上商铺稳定性的影响,研究发现拓扑规律的影响最为明显,且位于城市尺度高可达性街道的商铺在外部冲击下经营更为稳定。
