The importance of extracellular vesicles(EVs) in cell-cell communication has long been recognized due to their ability to transfer important cellular cargoes such as DNA, mRNA, miRNAs, and proteins to target cells. Compelling evidence supports the role of EVs in the horizontal transfer of cellular material which has the potential to influence normal cellular physiology and promote various disease states. Of the different types of EVs, exosomes have garnered much attention in the past decade due to their abundance in various biological fluids and ability to affect multiple organ systems. The main focus of this review will be on cancer and how cancer-derived exosomes are important mediators of metastasis, angiogenesis, immune modulation, and the tumor macro-/microenvironment. We will also discuss exosomes as potential biomarkers for cancers due to their abundance in biological fluids, ease of uptake, and cellular content. Exosome use in diagnosis, prognosis, and in establishing treatment regimens has enormous potential to revolutionize patient care. 展开更多

Based on vibration analysis, single-layered graphene sheet (SLGS) with multiple attached nanoparticles is developed as nanoscale mass sensor in thermal environments. Graphene sensors are assumed to be in simplysupported configuration. Based on the nonlocal plate the- ory which incorporates size effects into the classical theory, closed-form expressions lot the frequencies and relative fre- quency shills of SLGS-based mass sensor are derived using the Galerkin method. The suggested model is justified by a good agreement between the results given by the present model and available data in literature. The effects of tem- perature difference, nonlocal parameter, the location of the nanoparticle and the number of nanoparticles on the relative frequency shift of the mass sensor are also elucidated. The obtained results show that the sensitivity of the SLGS- based mass sensor increases with increasing temperature difference. 展开更多

The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of nitrite intercalated Mg-Al layered double hydroxides(Mg-Al LDH-NO_(2))on mortar durability under the coexisting environment of Cl−and SO_(4)^(2-).Cl−and SO_(4)^(2-) binding properties of Mg-Al LDH-NO_(2) in simulated concrete pore solutions,Cl−and SO_(4)^(2-) diffusion properties of mortars with Mg-Al LDHNO 2 were examined.The steel corrosion and resistance of mortar against SO_(4)^(2-) attack were also evaluated.The results indicate that Mg-Al LDH-NO_(2) can effectively adsorb the Cl−and SO_(4)^(2-) in simulated concrete pore solution,and inhibit the diffusion of Cl−and SO_(4)^(2-) into cement mortars.The presence of SO_(4)^(2-) can greatly affect the uptake amount of Cl−,and there is a coupled effect of Cl−and SO_(4)^(2-) on their penetration into mortar specimens.In addition,Mg-Al LDH-NO_(2) can greatly upgrade the resistance of mortars against SO_(4)^(2-) attack and well prevent the steel from corrosion.However,Cl−will aggravate the SO_(4)^(2-) attack and SO_(4)^(2-) can initially decrease and then increase the steel corrosion. 展开更多

Genetic relationship of rapeseed yield-related traits revealed by elite lines under multiple environments

To provide a theoretical basis for further improvement of Brassica napus yield, additive dominance with additive - by - additive epistatic effects ( ADAA) genetic model and a 6 X 8 partial dial- lel cross design were used to analyze the genetic effects and correlations of five yield related traits of 14 excellent Brassica napus parental lines and their 46 and F2 populations. The results showed that silique density (SD) , siliques per plant (SPP) , seeds per silique (SPS) and thousand - seed weight (TSW) exhibited not only additive and dominant effects, but also significant epistatic effects. The dominant effects of all five yield - related traits were obviously greater than their additive effects and epistatic effects. Yield per plant (YPP) showed significant genetic correlation with SD, SPP and SPS, and the main component of the genetic correlation was the dominance correlation. SPP and SPS both showed a significant negative correlation with TSW. The SD of rapeseed was genetically correlated with all three components of yield to a certain extent, and there were different components of genetic effects positively correlated with the three yield components, indicating that SD is a potential trait to reconcile the conflict between TSW and SPP as well as SPS. 展开更多

The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the seismic response of buildings of typical reinforced concrete frames when concrete starts to deteriorate gradually and to make a comparison between the base shear and the displacement at different stages of earthquake loading. Typical 5, 15, 20 and 30-storey reinforced concrete frames have been designed for seismicity according to the recently adopted seismic code in Abu Dhabi, ACI 318-08/IBC 2009 code. A pushover analysis has been performed to these four buildings by using SAP 2000. Twenty-four models have been created (6 models for each building) by decreasing the concrete strength gradually from 4000 psi (281 kg/cm<sup>2</sup>) to 1500 psi (105 kg/cm<sup>2</sup>). This is to simulate the effect of harsh environment on the strength of concrete in existing buildings. 展开更多

在我国西南山区下切河流——吊嘎河上利用人工阶梯-深潭进行河流治理的野外试验。吊嘎河河床严重侵蚀下切,由此引发塌岸、滑坡甚至泥石流灾害,河流生态环境变化剧烈,水生生态受到抑制。在吊嘎河中上游选取长约150m河段,模仿自然阶梯-深... 在我国西南山区下切河流——吊嘎河上利用人工阶梯-深潭进行河流治理的野外试验。吊嘎河河床严重侵蚀下切,由此引发塌岸、滑坡甚至泥石流灾害,河流生态环境变化剧烈,水生生态受到抑制。在吊嘎河中上游选取长约150m河段,模仿自然阶梯-深潭的地貌及结构特点,布置人工阶梯-深潭,并对河流微地貌、水生栖息地环境及生态进行了5个月的观测。人工阶梯-深潭布置后,试验段河床持续冲刷下切的趋势得到有效控制;维持了较为稳定的水生栖息地环境,同时水生栖息地多样性增加。采用大型底栖无脊椎动物评价河流生态显示,吊嘎河的水生生态也得到明显改善。吊嘎河野外试验初步表明,人工阶梯-深潭系统是山区下切河流综合治理中的一个有效方法。 展开更多

该文为探究珊溪水利枢纽库区大型底栖无脊椎动物群落结构及其对环境因子的响应关系,于2022年1月(枯水期)和7月(丰水期)进行了水质监测和底栖动物采样调查,选取18个采样点,覆盖珊溪水库和赵山渡水库库区整体。作者在珊溪水利枢纽库区共... 该文为探究珊溪水利枢纽库区大型底栖无脊椎动物群落结构及其对环境因子的响应关系,于2022年1月(枯水期)和7月(丰水期)进行了水质监测和底栖动物采样调查,选取18个采样点,覆盖珊溪水库和赵山渡水库库区整体。作者在珊溪水利枢纽库区共采集到底栖动物26种,隶属3门6纲7目8科,优势种群主要为苏氏尾鳃蚓(Branchiura sowerbyi)、霍甫水丝蚓(Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri)和前突摇蚊属(Procladius sp.)。库区内底栖动物的现存量和多样性在丰枯水期之间无明显差异,而PCoA和Adonis配对检验分析表明其群落结构在区域间差异显著。SIMPER分析结果显示,枯水期导致区域间群落结构差异显著的主要贡献物种为颤蚓科、摇蚊科和田螺科共4种,丰水期为颤蚓科和摇蚊科共5种。冗余分析(RDA)结果表明,枯水期影响库区大型底栖无脊椎动物群落结构的环境因子为水深(H)、总氮(TN)和正磷酸盐(PO_(4)^(3-)),丰水期为透明度(SD)和氨氮(NH4+-N)。研究表明,珊溪水库为典型的深水型水库,受水深和水库调度的影响,优势种群以颤蚓科和摇蚊科为主;赵山渡水库受支流污染物汇入的影响,营养状态相对较高,物种多样性较好。库区大型底栖无脊椎动物群落结构空间差异显著,受环境因素影响较大。该研究丰富了中国东南地区典型河谷型水库和库区大型无脊椎动物的研究,为水库生态保护和温州美丽河湖建设提供科学依据。 展开更多
