Ultrasound-magnetic field coaxial hybrid Gas Tungsten Arc Welding(U-M-GTAW)is proposed as a means to control arc characteristics.The arc characteristics and the mechanism to change them,in an ultrasound-magnetic field...Ultrasound-magnetic field coaxial hybrid Gas Tungsten Arc Welding(U-M-GTAW)is proposed as a means to control arc characteristics.The arc characteristics and the mechanism to change them,in an ultrasound-magnetic field coaxial hybrid GTAW,were studied by both experimental and theoretical analyses.The results showed that a periodic rotation and compression of the arc shape were obtained in U-M-GTAW and the arc energy was also enhanced.The most obvious compression of the arc shape in U-M-GTAW was obtained,compared with GTAW,M-GTAW and U-GTAW.At the same time,a periodic rotation of the arc was observed in U-M-GTAW.The geometric parameters of the arc shape in U-M-GTAW are reduced more than double compared with traditional GTAW.The arc voltage in the hybrid GTAW was increased,especially in the U-M-GTAW.The electromagnetic force and acoustic radiation force were the main factors for the change of arc characteristics in the U-M-GTAW.展开更多

The acquired field data in this study uses <span style="font-family:Verdana;">two proton-precession magnetometers for the mapping of magnetic anomalies</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> due to kimberlites. Three different magnetic maps are obtained from the result of total magnetic field data processing on Oásis Montaj software programme. These maps include magnetic anomaly maps through statistical analyses, total magnetic field intensity map and map of the analytic signal. Based on the interpretation of these maps a structure is identified with SWW-NEE directions in which magnetic signatures that indicate the presence of kimberlite pipes are observed. As the interpretation of the magnetic anomalies is a complicated process due to their dipolar nature, the analytic signal is generated, where is possible to observe the typical shape of these anomalies.</span>展开更多

It is found that the occurrence of intermolecular double-quantum coherence signal dips is related to sample geometry, field inhomogeneity and dipolar correlation distance. If the field inhomogeneity is refocused, the signal dip occurs at a fixed position whenever the dipolar correlation distance approaches the sample dimension. However, the position is shifted when the field inhomogeneity exists. Experiments and simulations are performed to validate our theoretic analysis. These signal features may offer a unique way to investigate porous structures and may find applications in biomedicine and material science.展开更多

A method for identification of pulsations in time series of magnetic field data which are simultaneously present in multiple channels of data at one or more sensor locations is described. Candidate pulsations of inter...A method for identification of pulsations in time series of magnetic field data which are simultaneously present in multiple channels of data at one or more sensor locations is described. Candidate pulsations of interest are first identified in geomagnetic time series by inspection. Time series of these "training events" are represented in matrix form and transpose-multiplied to generate time- domain covariance matrices. The ranked eigenvectors of this matrix are stored as a feature of the pulsation. In the second stage of the algorithm, a sliding window (approxi- mately the width of the training event) is moved across the vector-valued time-series comprising the channels on which the training event was observed. At each window position, the data covariance matrix and associated eigen- vectors are calculated. We compare the orientation of the dominant eigenvectors of the training data to those from the windowed data and flag windows where the dominant eigenvectors directions are similar. This was successful in automatically identifying pulses which share polarization and appear to be from the same source process. We apply the method to a case study of continuously sampled (50 Hz) data from six observatories, each equipped with three- component induction coil magnetometers. We examine a 90-day interval of data associated with a cluster of four observatories located within 50 km of Napa, California, together with two remote reference stations-one 100 km to the north of the cluster and the other 350 km south. When the training data contains signals present in the remote reference observatories, we are reliably able to identify and extract global geomagnetic signals such as solar-generated noise. When training data contains pulsations only observed in the cluster of local observatories, we identify several types of non-plane wave signals having similar polarization.展开更多

The features of the optimum procedure were: (a) both combined synthetic sig...A new approach for transforming the cultured cells of wheat(Triticum aestivum L. cv. Ganmai 8) was developed using Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The features of the optimum procedure were: (a) both combined synthetic signal molecules and multiple natural extracts from susceptible plants were used to pretreat the primary vigorous Agrobacterium(PVA) cells for approximately 16 h; (b) the gyratory magnetic field condition was used during cocultivation; (c) the cocultivating period and selecting condition were modified; (d) the recipient cells were at exuberant metabolism and active division while infected with Agrobacterium. Both neomycin phosphotransferase and nopaline synthase assays demonstrated the expression of NPT II and NOS genes, located on the T-DNA segment of chimaeric plasmid pGV3850::1103neo, in transformed wheat cell colonies by adopting the techniques of dot blot, ndPAGE or high voltage paper electrophoresis. Integration of the foreign genes into wheat genome was confirmed by Southern blot hybridization. Moreover, a relatively rational method was described for the estimation of transformation frequencies from cultured cell levels.展开更多
