In order to solve the urgent problem of how to manage and sustain highway tunnels with advanced information technology with the background of the rapid development in the modem traffic, and achieve the cost- effective...In order to solve the urgent problem of how to manage and sustain highway tunnels with advanced information technology with the background of the rapid development in the modem traffic, and achieve the cost- effectiveness optimal principle objectives under the premise of guaranteeing a smooth flow of traffic; a highway tunnel maintenance and management system framework and the key modules were proposed. First, the determined highway tunnel condition assessment index system was established according to the result of expert consulting forms. Secondly, the tunnel diseases, the corresponding maintenance measurements, and many-to-many relationship between diseases and maintenance measurements were introduced. Then, three kinds of 0-1 integer programming models were built according to different tunnel operators' needs in the optimization decision module. Finally, the further development and implementation of the system was prospected. The research results can provide references to tunnel researchers and managers.展开更多

In this paper, the major functions and theoretical application of eight modules were systematically stated with the background of Harbin Songhua River cable-stayed bridge, which include data management module, inspection and measurement module, assessment module, finite dement analysis module, disease diagnosis and prediction module, maintenance module, query module and help module. By analyzing and calculating the data from manual inspection database, basic database and health monitoring subsystem, DCBMS can accomplish the functions like life prediction, disease diagnosis, comprehensive assessment, maintenance and management of bridges. Therefore, the maintenance and management of long-span cable-stayed bridges can be made digital, professional and scientific. By running this system, a real-time and specific technical guidance can be provided for the maintainers and managers of long- span cable-stayed bridges.展开更多

Compressive strength of concrete is a significant factor to assess building structure health and safety.Therefore,various methods have been developed to evaluate the compressive strength of concrete structures.However...Compressive strength of concrete is a significant factor to assess building structure health and safety.Therefore,various methods have been developed to evaluate the compressive strength of concrete structures.However,previous methods have several challenges in costly,time-consuming,and unsafety.To address these drawbacks,this paper proposed a digital vision based concrete compressive strength evaluating model using deep convolutional neural network(DCNN).The proposed model presented an alternative approach to evaluating the concrete strength and contributed to improving efficiency and accuracy.The model was developed with 4,000 digital images and 61,996 images extracted from video recordings collected from concrete samples.The experimental results indicated a root mean square error(RMSE)value of 3.56(MPa),demonstrating a strong feasibility that the proposed model can be utilized to predict the concrete strength with digital images of their surfaces and advantages to overcome the previous limitations.This experiment contributed to provide the basis that could be extended to future research with image analysis technique and artificial neural network in the diagnosis of concrete building structures.展开更多
