The Perceptions for Hong Kong Male Students Refusing HPV Vaccination: An Exploratory Study

Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a group of common viruses that can cause a sexually transmitted infection (STI). People with HPV infection can be susceptible to cervical cancer, anogenital warts, and another HPV-related disease. Although the HPV infection can be prevented by HPV vaccination, the vaccination rate in Hong Kong is relatively low particular in males comparing to other countries. Study design: An exploratory qualitative approach was adopted. Aim: This study attempted to explore the perceptions of male college students refusing HPV vaccination in Hong Kong. Methods: A total of 20 male college students participated in the unstructured interview with audio-tape recording and field-notes done to explore their perceptions refusing HPV vaccination. Content analysis was utilized to extract significant themes and sub-themes. Results: Six major themes were identified including a lack of perceived risk, knowledge deficit, inadequate promotion, a high price of the HPV vaccine, inconvenience to receive the HPV vaccine and peer influence. Conclusion: Exploring the perceptions for Hong Kong male college students refusing HPV vaccination could provide essential information to the local government to establish corresponding health campaign for males to increase receiving HPV vaccination for curbing the HPV-related diseases.

Educational Experiences of Undergraduate Male Nursing Students: A Focus Group Study

Background: The educational experiences of undergraduate male nursing students in developing countries such as Jordan have yet to be fully investigated in the literature. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the educational experiences of Jordanian undergraduate male nursing students. Methods: A qualitative research design using inductive content analysis approach was used to explore educational experiences of undergraduate male nursing students at a prominent public university. Focus group interviews were used to obtain information of an interactive, conversational nature from male nursing students and to gain in-depth insight regarding their educational experiences. Twenty undergraduate male nursing participants representing the four academic levels of a nursing program were recruited. Four focus groups ranging between 4 - 6 students were used to gather data. Inductive content analysis was used. Results: Three themes emerged from this study: “nursing: a deliberate choice”, “nursing is wonderful yet challenging”, and “nursing is not for men”. Students articulated that they deliberately chose to study nursing and to enter this academic field. Participants indicated that studying nursing was a wonderful experience that was intertwined with several challenges. Students from different levels explicitly emphasized that they were challenged and bombarded with enduring negative stereotypes and negative societal views regarding males in nursing. Conclusions and Implications: Findings illustrated that educational experiences of undergraduate male nursing students varied between wonderful experiences upon deliberate entry into nursing programs to enduring negative stereotypes and views regarding male nurses. Nursing educators are expected to comprehend the educational experiences of their students, particularly male students, and provide counseling, role-modeling and support as needed. Additionally, nurse educators should encourage all students to manage gender related problems by emphasizing a nurse’s role identity without gender segregation or discrimination.

Perception of Male Nursing Students about Their Maternity Clinical Practice: A Cross-Sectional Survey from a Nursing College

The aim of this study was to explore the perception of male nursing students’ experiences and challenges in maternity clinical practice. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was used. The self-administered questionnaire included 18 items 5-point Likert scale to identify the challenges experienced by male nursing students in their maternity clinical practice, and 14 items to assess comfort level in performing procedures in maternity clinical areas. Participants were 93 male nursing students who had completed their maternity clinical posting in different maternity clinical areas as a part of their nursing program, at the College of Nursing, Kuwait. Results showed that male nursing students are not very keen on undergoing maternity clinical training (Chi-square analysis χ2 = 96.939;P χ2 = 108.638;P χ2 = 5.297;P = 0.021). In conclusion, this study showed that being treated differently and being refused to provide care to clients were the main challenges faced by male nursing students during their maternity practice. The participants had a strong belief that they will not be accepted by maternity clients because of the gender difference and cultural influence. There is a need to design strategies in both academic and clinical settings to overcome barriers to male nursing students’ engagement in the various maternity care areas. Our findings also indicate the need to embrace gender diversity in maternity clinical practice and call for professionalism, gender and cultural awareness creation, and advocacy.

Qualitative Study on Male Nursing Students'Cognition of Nine-Valent Preventive Vaccine

Objective:To investigate the cognition degree of male nursing students to HPV and nine-valent vaccine and the influencing factors of male willingness to receive nine-valent HPV vaccine.Methods:Qualitative research semi-structured interview was conducted on male nursing students,and phenomenological research method was used to record,ran scribe,encode and classify the interview data and extract the topic.The number of interviews was determined according to the information saturation.Results:Seven themes were summarized in this study,which were mainly divided into two aspects.The promotion of vaccination includes two aspects:self-benefit and benefit of others.The prevention of vaccination mainly includes low awareness rate,feminization of vaccine infbnnation,high cost and safety and effectiveness.Conclusion:Male nursing students have low cognition degree and inoculation intention to human papillomavirus and nine-valent vaccine,so it is necessary to further strengthen publicity and carry out college education to improve vaccination.

Analysis of ideological education status of male undergraduate nursing students

This article through the analysis of male nursing students after graduation employment status quo and the cause of low professional identity,to explore the status quo and countermeasures of male nursing student’s professional ideological education,to provide basis for male nursing students personalized training,to meet the needs of society and patient nursing diversification.

Comparison of Status of Mental Health of Male Nursing Students between China and Korea:A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective:To compare the mental health status among Chinese and Korean male nursing students and further clarify the predictors of the mental health.Methods:Research data was collected from 86 undergraduate male nursing students of China and Korea by using the SCL-90-R questionnaire.The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS version 22.0.Results:Findings showed Chinese male nursing students reported higher scores of SCL-90-R than the Chinese norms,and Korean group scored lower than Chinese group and the Korean norms.The key predictors of male nursing students'mental health include having a male role model in the nursing field,receiving positive career guidance from teaching staff and having the support and respect of family and friends.Conclusion:Chinese male nursing students need to improve their mental health level more urgently than Korean male nursing students.Chinese educators need to pay more attention to role model education and spread more excellent male nurse models for male nursing students,and Korean educators need to support male nursing students with enthusiastically and provide more positive guidance for their study and career planning.

基于数理统计法探讨瑜伽训练对高校男生身体机能的影响

以某大学参加瑜伽练习的15名男生为实验组,进行8周瑜伽练习后,将实验组男生的身体机能进行统计分析和对比.研究发现:参加瑜伽运动的男生体重呈现下降态势,体脂比的变化更加健康;在心肺功能的有氧能力提升方面,实验组在显著程度上大于对照组;被测试者在瑜伽练习后的睡眠质量也要显著优于练习前.基于此,认为可在高校男生中推广瑜伽运动,以期普遍增强学生体质.

不同高度跳深训练对提升体育专业男生下肢快速力量的影响

为探究跳深替代杠铃、发展下肢快速力量的简捷训练方法,运用实验法对60名浙江师范大学体育与健康科学学院(2021级)男大学生进行了为期8周的跳深训练实验,比较分析各实验组的力峰值、峰值功率、30 m跑成绩及立定跳远成绩,探究哪种高度与地面组合的跳深训练最为适宜.结果表明:1)实验后,各实验组的下肢快速力量水平都有所提高;2)实验后,相同高度的人工草地跳深训练效果要优于塑胶地面;3)实验后,60 cm高度与人工草地组合的训练效果最好.结论:1)60 cm高度是体育专业男大学生进行跳深训练的适宜高度;2)在人工草地上进行跳深训练比较适宜;3)采用60 cm高度与人工草地组合的跳深训练对发展体育专业男大学生下肢快速力量是一种简捷有效的训练方法.

高强度间歇训练和中等强度持续训练对肥胖男大学生血管内皮功能和血流剪切力的影响

目的:探讨高强度间歇训练(high-intensity interval training,HIIT)和中等强度持续训练(moderate-intensity continuous training,MICT)对肥胖男大学生血管内皮功能和血流剪切力的影响及其可能机制。方法:将52名18~22岁、BMI≥30 kg·m^(-2)的肥胖男大学生分为HIIT组(n=21)、MICT组(n=22)和CON组(n=9),对HIIT组(运动强度为80%~95%HRmax)和MICT组(运动强度为60%~70%HRmax)进行为期8周的运动干预。测定运动前、后受试者身体形态、身体机能、血脂、血管内皮功能和血流动力学指标。采用Endo PAT-2000系统测试指端反应性充血指数(reactivity hyperemia index,RHI);采用彩色多普勒超声诊断技术测定受试者运动前、后血管管径(vascular diameter,VD)、血流速度(blood flow velocity,BFV)和血流剪切力(wall shear stress,WSS)等血流动力学指标。结果:与运动前相比,8周HIIT和MICT显著改善肥胖男大学生身体形态指标(P<0.01),但HIIT组与MICT组组间差异不显著(P>0.05);运动后,HIIT组和MICT组RHI显著高于CON组(P<0.01),HIIT组比MICT组高0.223,但未达到显著性水平(P>0.05)。与运动前相比,HIIT组和MICT组WSS和BFV均显著增大(P<0.01),CON组无显著性变化(P>0.05);HIIT组和MICT组组间差异不显著(P>0.05),但HIIT组和MICT组WSS和BFV均显著高于CON组(P<0.05)。与运动前相比,HIIT组和MICT组VD无显著变化(P>0.05),CON组VD有上升趋势,但差异不显著(P>0.05),HIIT组与MICT组组间差异也不显著(P>0.05)。运动前、后WSS的变化程度与RHI(r=0.541,P<0.001)、BFV(r=0.957,P<0.001)的变化程度呈显著正相关,与LDL(r=-0.322,P<0.05)、VD(r=-0.399,P<0.05)的变化程度呈显著负相关。结论:1)8周HIIT和MICT均能够有效改善肥胖男大学生身体形态、血管内皮功能及血流动力学相关参数。2)HIIT和MICT提高肥胖男大学生血管内皮功能的相关机制,可能与HIIT和MICT后WSS的增加有关。3)HIIT改善血管内皮功能,可能与高WSS降低LDL浓度有关。

广西高校男护生专业观调查及培养分析

为了探明广西高校男护生专业观现状,并为男护生的培养和教育改革提供借鉴,采用问卷调查法、实地访谈法等抽样调查广西4所医学院校共163名男护生的专业认同情况。研究显示,广西高校男护生专业认同感有待提高,各医学院校和教育工作者可通过以下4个方面进行提升:凸显男护生从事护理职业的优势、提升男护生的心理素质、提高男护生对护理专业的热爱程度、加强指导男护生对未来职业发展的规划。

本科男护生心理韧性在社会支持与职业认同间的中介效应

目的本研究旨在探究本科男护生社会支持、心理韧性、职业认同三者之间关系及心理韧性在社会支持与职业认同之间的作用。方法于2022年6—10月选取四川省成都市4所医学院校403名本科男护生为调查对象,采用领悟社会支持量表、护生职业认同量表和中文版心理韧性量表收集相关数据,利用SPSS 22.0分析数据、Amos 26.0构建模型。结果本科男护生社会支持总得分为44.25±8.38分,职业认同总得分为55.74±10.86分,心理韧性总得分为88.96±14.43分;本科男护生社会支持与心理韧性、社会支持与职业认同、心理韧性与职业认同均呈正相关,r分别为0.58、0.47、0.56,均P<0.01。本科男护生的社会支持对其职业认同的直接效应为0.70,P=0.010;心理韧性在社会支持对男护生职业认同水平的中介效应值为1.12,P=0.000,中介作用占该模型总效应的61.68%。结论本科男护生职业认同呈中低水平,具有较大提升空间,心理韧性在社会支持对职业认同的路径中起显著中介作用,提示学校及社会应提供相关心理支持及干预,培养树立男护生健康积极心态,男护生也应主动提高其心理韧性,从而提高职业认同水平。

护理本科男生心理资本与学习适应相关性分析

目的 探究护理本科男生心理资本与学习适应相关性。方法 采用便利抽样法纳入山东省某高校护理专业202名在校本科男生作为研究对象,采用大学生学习适应量表、心理资本量表进行调查分析。结果 护理本科男生心理资本平均分为(93.72±10.72)分;学习适应平均分为(113.96±13.65)分;护理本科男生的心理资本总分与学习适应总分呈显著正相关(r=0.631,P<0.01);护理本科男生心理资本对学习适应有正向预测作用。结论 护理本科男生学习适应处于中等水平,心理资本处于中等水平,心理资本对学习适应具有较好预测作用。

高职男护生护理职业认知教育的效果研究--以北京某高职学院护理专业男护生为例

高职教育阶段提升男护生对护理职业的正确认知,有助于稳固男护士新生群体力量,有效提升优质护理服务,促进护理专业学科发展。根据中国男护士职业认知调查问卷,自行设计男护生职业认知问卷,对北京某高职学院106名男护生进行调查,比较分析护理认知教育实施前后其职业认知的变化。结果显示,护理职业认知教育实施后,男护生对护理专业的认知、护士角色的认知、护士性别的认知更为全面、客观。

基于三维扫描的男大学生脚型参数提取与分类

为了提高鞋子穿着的合体性和舒适性,准确掌握青年男大学生脚型的三维特征,采用三维激光脚型扫描仪对437名青年男大学生进行测试。分别对脚长、跖趾围长、足弓高度等19个原始测量指标进行统计学分析、因子分析,并采用K-means聚类分析实现脚型细分。结果表明:描述脚型高度维度的指标变异较大,长度维度的变异较小;通过因子分析提取出长度特征因子、宽度特征因子、高度特征因子、其他特征因子4个主成分,并根据因子权重值,提取脚长、跖趾围长、足弓高度3个变量作为脚型分类标准,采用K-means聚类算法将青年男大学生的脚型细分为短瘦低足弓型、长中低足弓型、短瘦高足弓型、长胖低足弓型、短瘦中足弓型、长胖高足弓型、中胖高足弓型7种类型。实验结果可以为制鞋企业生产舒适合体的鞋子提供理论依据。

巴林特小组在培养高职高专男护生职业认同中的应用研究

选取许昌学院医学院2021级高职高专男护生32名,定期应用巴林特小组进行男护生职业认同系统教育,研究巴林特小组在培养高职高专男护生职业认同中的应用效果和教育模式,以提高男护生职业认同感和护生核心能力。

社会性别视角下本科男护生人文关怀学习体验初探

目的调查护理专业本科男护生对人文关怀学习的体验与感受,从社会性别视角下探究本科男护生在护理过程中对人文关怀方法、实践的自我感知,为改革本科男护生人文关怀教育提供参考依据。方法采用质性研究的方法,对本科男护生进行半结构访谈,挖掘其人文关怀学习体验。结果经整理,提炼出两大主题:积极的人文关怀学习体验,包括有助于男护生理解护理专业的内涵、有利于男护生掌握人文关怀的方法、增加男护生对课程教学的认同感3个亚主题;实施人文关怀的障碍感受,包括人文关怀课程理论与实践脱节、人文关怀学习主动性和实践意愿不强、本科男护士偏理性思维的障碍3个亚主题。显示本科男护生基于课程人文元素掌握了一定的人文关怀方法,并在护理过程中意识到了对患者实施人文关怀的重要性,但是对人文关怀课程实践缺少主动性,对人文关怀方法在临床的应用的意向持怀疑态度。结论护理本科人文关怀教育中应关注本科男护生人文关怀教育的差异性需求,探究更适宜的融入性的教学内容与方法。

Gender Disparity in Second Language Learning： Reality or Illusion？

The paper draws a comparison between female and male students＇ language learning capabilities in the backdrop of age-old idea that males are better than females in language learning on the one hand, and some recent study findings indicating females＇ superiority over males on the other. To this end, 43 female and 80 male higher secondary students＇ 468 answer scripts of their regular English exams were collected. For the traditional question pattern, the collected data could measure only ＂remembering＂ and ＂understanding＂ of the examinees. Therefore, the students were compared only on the basis of these two lowest levels of Bloom＇s taxonomy. The participants were of same age, studying at the same level （Grade 11）, and were taught by the same teacher. The study finds that if other variables remain the same, there is no essential difference between male and female regarding learning English as a second language.

江西省城乡中小学男生体质健康现状调查研究

目的:研究江西省城乡中小学男生体质健康现状,为优化城乡中小学体育健康课提供依据,缩小城乡中小学男生体质间的差距。方法:采取实验测试与对比研究的方法,从江西省南昌、赣州和宜春市选择城市和乡镇中小学男生,按照随机抽样的方法测试,然后根据测试结果进行对比分析。结果:江西省城镇中小学男生的体质健康现状堪忧,且城乡差异较大。究其因,与城乡经济、家庭因素、受教育程度及体育锻炼的重视度等有较大关系。

男护生心理特点及其心理调适方法的探讨

目的使男护生能以良好的心理状态走上护理工作岗位。方法针对男护生在实习期间出现的心理行为及特点，采取适当的心理调适，激发男护生学习兴趣，使其正确认识男护生在临床工作中的可行性和必要性，并强化男护生心理素质，增强挫折承受力，增强责任感。结果男护生自信心增强，能准确地进入护士角色，以良好的心理状态走上护理工作岗位。结论在临床带教中根据男护生心理特点给予适当的心理调适，对增加男护生自信心、树立良好职业观、保证实习顺利进行起着重要的作用。
