Delivery Service Management System Using Google Maps for SMEs in Emerging Countries

This paper proposes a Delivery Service Management(DSM)system for Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs)that own a delivery fleet of pickup trucks to manage Business-to-Business(B2B)delivery services.The proposed DSM system integrates four systems:Delivery Location Positioning(DLP),Delivery Route Planning(DRP),Arrival Time Prediction(ATP),and Communication and Data Sharing(CDS)systems.These systems are used to pinpoint the delivery locations of customers,plan the delivery route of each truck,predict arrival time(with an interval)at each delivery location,and communicate and share information among stakeholders,respectively.The DSM system deploys Google applications,a GPS tracking system,Google Map APIs,ATP algorithms(embedded in Excel Macros),Line,and Telegram as supporting tools.To improve the accuracy of the ATP system,three tech-niques are applied considering driver behaviors.The proposed DSM system has been implemented in a Thai SME.From the process perspective,the DSM system is a systematic procedure for end-to-end delivery services.It allows the interactions between planner-driver decisions and supporting tools.The supporting tools are simple,can be easily used with little training,and require low capital expenditure.The statistical analysis shows that the ATP algorithm with the three techniques provides high accuracy.Thus,the proposed DSM system is beneficial for practitioners to manage delivery services,especially for SMEs in emerging countries.

Impact of slope farmland use change on ecosystem services value in China,2000-2020

Slope farmland is an important component of farmland resources in China.The utilization and change of slope farmland have significant effects on ecosystems,and understanding the impact of slope farmland change on ecosystem services(ESs)is critical for effective land utilization and ecosystem protection.This study aims to analyze slope farmland changes in China between 2000 and 2020 and quantify the impact of these changes on ESs by the use of a land use dynamic attitude study,and an ecosystem services value(ESV)equivalent.Results show that the area of slope farmland in China was mainly concentrated on slopes of 2°-6°,and exhibited a downward trend between 2000 and 2020.There were significant differences in the spatial distribution of the farmland,which was mainly located in the Taihang,Qinling,Wushan,and Xuefeng mountains.ESV increased by$179.235 million due to the conversion between slope farmland and forest,grassland,and construction land from 2000-2010.Conversely,from 2010 to 2020,ESV decreased by$2613.919 million due to the conversion of forest and grassland to slope farmland as well as the conversion of slope farmland to construction land.

Machine learning-based zero-touch network and service management:a survey

The exponential growth of mobile applications and services during the last years has challenged the existing network infrastructures.Consequently,the arrival of multiple management solutions to cope with this explosion along the end-to-end network chain has increased the complexity in the coordinated orchestration of different segments composing the whole infrastructure.The Zero-touch Network and Service Management(ZSM)concept has recently emerged to automatically orchestrate and manage network resources while assuring the Quality of Experience(QoE)demanded by users.Machine Learning(ML)is one of the key enabling technologies that many ZSM frameworks are adopting to bring intelligent decision making to the network management system.This paper presents a comprehensive survey of the state-of-the-art application of ML-based techniques to improve ZSM performance.To this end,the main related standardization activities and the aligned international projects and research efforts are deeply examined.From this dissection,the skyrocketing growth of the ZSM paradigm can be observed.Concretely,different standardization bodies have already designed reference architectures to set the foundations of novel automatic network management functions and resource orchestration.Aligned with these advances,diverse ML techniques are being currently exploited to build further ZSM developments in different aspects,including multi-tenancy management,traffic monitoring,and architecture coordination,among others.However,different challenges,such as the complexity,scalability,and security of ML mechanisms,are also identified,and future research guidelines are provided to accomplish a firm development of the ZSM ecosystem.

STUDY ON NONLINEAR DYNAMICS OF TCP-RENO TRAFFIC UNDER RED

A discrete time feedback control system model based on a multi-router network has been presented. The model can be described by a set of recurrence equations. The numerical examples about the bifurcation of average and instantaneous queue size along with the variety of RED control parameter are shown. The simulate experiments about those of the RED control parameters are also presented. All of these results show that instability in TCP-Reno traffic under RED can be induced by the inherent nonlinear behavior of the network.

A feedback control mechanism for adaptive SLO maintenance in dynamic service level management

With the increasing scale of information technology(IT)service system,traditional thresholdbased static service level management(SLM)solution appears to be inadequate to meet current increasingly management requirement of SLM.Due to the stochastic service request rate,the random inherent failure and load surge of IT devices during service operating stage of large scaled IT system,service level objective(SLO)maintenance issue has become a realistic and important issue in dynamic SLM.This paper proposes a closed-loop feedback control mechanism to adaptively maintain SLO that service provider(SP)guaranteed at service operation stage.The mechanism can automatically tune the capacity of IT infrastructure according to service performance dispersion and reduce SLO violations.Considering that the tuning operations also affect service performance,fuzzy control is applied to alleviate the negative effect caused by tuning operations.In the dynamic SLM system that is applied with this mechanism compared with the traditional threshold-based solution,it is proved that the amount of SLO violations obviously decreases,the reliability of the service system increases relatively,and the resource utilization of IT infrastructure is optimized.

Thoughts on the Emergency Guarantee of Library Electronic Resources in the Post-Pandemic Era

In the post-pandemic era,libraries need to improve the emergency support of electronic resources and establish a relatively perfect electronic resource support system in order to adapt to the construction goal of the national emergency system as well as realize their own transformation and development.It must be realized through enhancing awareness and planning,strengthening policy support and top-level design,realizing rapid response and intelligent response,improving technical support,promoting resource synergy,integration,and sharing,strengthening community integration,as well as providing intelligent management and services.

General medical practice in China:evaluation of urban community health care service functions based on a rough set reduction theory

Objective:This study aims to achieve an empirical evaluation on the functional performances of urban community health care services in fi ve administrative districts of Nanchang city in China.Methods:In order to increase effectiveness,data collected from fi ve administrative districts of Nanchang city were processed to exclude redundant information.Rough set reduction theory was brought in to evaluate the performances of community health care services in these districts through calculating key indices’weighed importance.Results:Comprehensive evaluation showed the score rankings from high to low as Qing-yunpu district,Xihu district,Qingshanhu district,Donghu district,and Wanli district.Conclusion:The objective performance evaluation had actually reflected the general situation(including social-economic status)of community health care services in these administrative districts of Nanchang.Attention and practical works of community health service management were needed to build a more harmonious and uniform community health care service system for residents in these districts of Nanchang.

Multi-level governance through adaptive co-management:conflict resolution in a Brazilian state park

Introduction:Communities situated in protected areas generate conflicts among park administrators,residents and scientists.Should they stay or should they go?This article presents a positive example of a community existing in a state park.The study describes the community’s governance process as well as how the park administration and the community solve the conflicts that arise and achieve a method of co-management in a multi-level governance process.Methods:The analysis is based on the Management and Transition Framework(MTF).We used a case study approach and collected data via document study,participatory observation and qualitative interviews.Results:We find that the agreed system of community-based co-management has improved the implementation and enforcement of the state park’s rules through negotiation and communication mechanisms in the park council.This relative success is due to the construction of social capital,equality and empowerment.Conclusions:For state parks in similar situations,the findings suggest that:1)a community should have at least a minimal level of self-organization;2)the empowerment of the community in the decision-making process is useful;3)the park administration should gain the trust of the residents;and 4)the effective management of ecosystem services can create a win-win situation for the community as well as the park.

A high-level architecture for a Geomatics Informatization Technology System: the Chinese case

China will,as a component of‘Digital Earth,’establish a Geomatics Informatization Technology System(GITS)which is characterized by real-time acquisition,automatic processing,networking service,and socialized application with fundamental geographical information.The basic composition of GITS is proposed.GITS covers four layers and six platforms.The four layers are data acquisition,processing,management,and application and services.The six platforms are informatic geodetic datum,high-precision geo-spatial data acquisition,automatic geo-spatial data processing,grid-based geo-spatial information management,comprehensive geo-spatial information sharing and service,and geo-spatial information integration and application.The informatic geodetic datum platform provides a carrier for all the four layers and a base for the other five platforms.The high-precision geo-spatial data acquisition platform belongs to the acquisition layer.The automatic geo-spatial data processing platform belongs to the processing layer.The grid-based geo-spatial information management platform belongs to the management layer and is a bridge connecting geospatial data acquisition and spatial information sharing service and integrated applications.The comprehensive geo-spatial information sharing and service platform belongs to the application and service layer.Finally,this paper presents thoughts for constructing GITS.
