Measure index system of technical innovation in medium and smallmanufacturing enterprises is established according to principles of exploration, adaptability,standardization, generalization, feasibility, comparability and combination of economic benefit andcontinual development. It includes index of technical innovation capacity, informationaladministration on technical innovation, and investment of technical innovation, economic benefit,green technical level, social contribution and other influential indexes. Approach to measure oftechnical innovation in medium and small manufacturing enterprises is presented based on combinationof grey relation and fuzzy hiberarchy analysis, and conclusions are drawn based on practicalanalysis of 20 medium and small enterprises, which provides the basis for the medium and smallenterprises to select technical innovation policies and the government to constitute relativepolicies. 展开更多

The development of data science provides new opportunities for innovation in Chinese manufacturing enterprises.As the manufacturing sector urgently needstransformation and upgrading,studying how data empowerment drives innovation in manufacturing enterprises is of strategic significance.This work reviews domestic and foreign research from five aspects:product innovation,business model innovation,long-term competitiveness of enterprises,innovation ecosystem of enterprises,and industry upgrading.It summarizes the main forms and objects of data empowerment,analyzes the pathssand mechanisms of data empowerment,and creates a systematic research framework to explore the“black box”of data empowerment that drives manufacturing innovation.Such a framework provides theoretical references for the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing sector.Finally,future prospects are proposed to address the extant research gaps and to conduct more indepth research on innovation driven by data empowerment in the manufacturing sector. 展开更多

Emerging digital technology are bringing convenience to the global economy and transforming business organizations.The structural changes brought about by digitalization are particularly significant for enterprises in traditional industries.Starting from the perspective of the debate between structure and agency in sociology,this paper first discusses the necessity of digital transformation of traditional manufacturing enterprises under the background of digital economy,and then explains the drivers and potential obstacles of digital transformation from the perspective of the coexistence of structure regulation and agency initiative.Based on this,this paper further studies the practice of enterprise digital transformation,and proposes a three-stage model of organizational adaptation(EEI model),namely,the experimentation period(partial digitalization),the expansion period(platform digitalization)and the integration period(ecosystem digitalization).Each of these three stages has its own independent characteristics,and is also an indispensable link in the process of enterprise digitalization,which determines the continuity and integrity of its transformation.The three-stage evolution model based on the structure and agency perspective has important theoretical and practical significance for enterprise digital development. 展开更多

Using a quantitative research method through estimating a linear regression model based on data of two cement manufacturing companies in the period 2019-2021, the research results show that the factors affecting business efficiency of cement manufacturing enterprises in Tuyen Quang province include size of enterprise, cost ratio, average collection period, inventory turnover, fixed assets turnover and debt ratio. 展开更多

Innovation is the engine of development for enterprises, and there is an increasing trend to adopt an open innovation strategy. However, how to manage external resources in an open, collaborative and complementary manner, and in a shared environment that will yield the greatest networking effects, it is a challenging task. Because there is no such a satisfactory model for an open innovation strategy that combine operational mechanisms with the management of external resources. This article tries to fill the gap by adopting a resource-based perspective to construct an overall open innovation (OOI) business model. In this model, external resources are classified as industrial and non-industrial entities, to enable the identification of the interaction methods between manufacturing enterprises and external resources. The management of external resources involved in a Technology Open Innovation (TOI) cycle is given particular attention that includes: 1) the classification of the external resources of a TOI, 2) the general mechanisms extracted to promote qualified resources in and unqualified resources out, and 3) a business model to conceptualize the collaboration between enterprises and external resources. A case study of TOI is also provided to empirically verify its feasibility. This paper contributes to the literature by providing an original operational model and mechanism design for an open innovation strategy that is capable of managing external resources effectively. 展开更多

When selecting member enterprises and task assignment based on the manufacturing grid, key activities are assigned to the suitable critical member enterprises by task decomposition, enterprise node searching and characteristic matching of manufacturing resources according to the characteristic matching strategy. By task merger, some ordinary activities are merged with corresponding key activities and assigned to corresponding critical member enterprises. However, the other ordinary activities are assigned to the related ordinary member enterprises with enterprise node searching and characteristic matching of manufacturing resources. Finally, an example of developing the artificial hip joint in the virtual enterprise is used to demonstrate that efficiency of the virtual enterprise is improved by using the manufacturing grid and the proposed strategies for member enterprise selection and task assignment. 展开更多

With the increasingly fierce market competition,manufacturing enterprises have to continuously improve their competitiveness through their collaboration and labor division with each other,i.e.forming manufacturing enterprise collaborative network(MECN)through their collaboration and labor division is an effective guarantee for obtaining competitive advantages.To explore the topology and evolutionary process of MECN,in this paper we investigate an empirical MECN from the viewpoint of complex network theory,and construct an evolutionary model to reproduce the topological properties found in the empirical network.Firstly,large-size empirical data related to the automotive industry are collected to construct an MECN.Topological analysis indicates that the MECN is not a scale-free network,but a small-world network with disassortativity.Small-world property indicates that the enterprises can respond quickly to the market,but disassortativity shows the risk spreading is fast and the coordinated operation is difficult.Then,an evolutionary model based on fitness preferential attachment and entropy-TOPSIS is proposed to capture the features of MECN.Besides,the evolutionary model is compared with a degree-based model in which only node degree is taken into consideration.The simulation results show the proposed evolutionary model can reproduce a number of critical topological properties of empirical MECN,while the degree-based model does not,which validates the effectiveness of the proposed evolutionary model. 展开更多

An important proposition needed in-depth research is how digital technology empowers the green transformation of the manufacturing industry.This paper empirically finds that digital empowerment can boost the green transformation of enterprises,the conclusion of which stands valid under all kinds of robustness tests.Moreover,such boosting is heterogeneous and exists in industries with different energy consumption intensities.In addition,digital empowerment has a positive spillover effect on the green transformation ofupstream and downstream enterprises along industrial chains.From the specific mechanism of action,digital empowerment mainly drives the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises through scale and technology effects.The green transformationis significantly positively affected by digital empowerment.Compared with digital empowerment driven by domestic digital sources,the one built on foreign digital sourceshas a more profound influence on the green transformation of the manufacturing industry,although the green transformation is significantly positively affected bydigital empowerment.The differences above may stem from the gap in the development of digital technology at home and abroad.This judgment has been further confirmed in the heterogeneity analysis on regions with different levels of economic development and factor-intensive manufacturing industries.This means that in the new round of technological competition,China should be alert to the potential impact brought by the development gap of domestic and global digital technologies.This paper helps to expand and deepen the understanding of the factors affecting the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises.It also brings important policy implications to the following aspects:the method of seizing strategic opportunities brought by digital technology,the first-mover advantage built on open integration and innovation,the narrowing of the gap with foreign digital development levels,and the stabilization of digital empowerment basis for the green transformation oftheemanufacturing industry. 展开更多
