The company intends to launch its product into a new market and surveys the likelihood of getting international. The survey helps the company to gather information from clients regarding product characteristics, price, method of distribution, and promotion, according to customer preferences. Having these data, it is made a marketing simulation using conjoint analysis in order to get the optimal marketing mix in launching the product on a new market. The optimal marketing mix is given by the highest mix of utility for the clients, but sometimes the marketing manager would choose a little bit lower utility mix, forced by the company restrictions.展开更多

Falling satellite manufacturing and launch costs have opened the door to new players to enter the market, disrupting the status quo. HTS and constellations have entered the market and will lead to a lot more capacity at a lower price. But how this capacity will be optimally distributed remains a significant challenge. Earth Observation(EO) and Big Data are also areas of interest that are gaining grounds thanks to projects of 100 s if not 1,000 s of satellites that will have a lasting effect on manufacturing and launch markets.展开更多

The development trends are summarized, including low cost and rapid response capability, utilization of mature rocket and missile technology, the development of mobile launch technology adopting air-based platforms and use of innovative technology. Moreover, the external power and internal demand of the small-lift launch vehicle are analyzed and the market prospect is forecasted. Finally, proposals for the development of small-lift launch vehicles are put forward, including exploration of the potential of existing rocket and missile technology, development of multi-platform mobile launch technology and further application of innovative technology and ideas.展开更多

As the smallest launch vehicle in China at present, SD-1 is one of the most efficient solid boost rockets nationwide in terms of launch capacity. Compared with current domestic rockets, it provides remarkable access to space with a faster response, higher orbit-injection accuracy and better payload accommodation at a lower cost. On August 17, 2019, SD-1 completed its maiden flight and delivered three satellites into the desired Sun Synchronous Orbit(SSO) of 550 km accurately. In this article, a technical review of SD-1 is presented detailing the design concept and the use of state of the art technology throughout its development.展开更多
