The order of urban external public space is a representative field to show the quality of urban space. In history, the stable and clear outline in the external space of Western Europe gave people pleasant visual enjoyment with its strong sense of order. Ancient Greece, as one of the most important sources of civilization in Western Europe, profoundly influenced the history of urban development in Western Europe. Therefore, this study explained why ancient Greece had a strong pursuit of sense of order of external public space from the perspective of culture, hoping to provide a theoretical basis for the exploration of the ideal state of urban external space in China.展开更多

The solid media were added with water at the rate of 70 ml/100g of solid substrate. After 30 days of inoculation, conidial population of P. parasiticum in liquid media was lower compared to conidial population in solid media. In solid media, MM media showed the highest conidial population (9.56 log·cfu/g) followed by WB (9.50 log·cfu/g) and RB (9.38 log·cfu/g). Hence, Maize Meal media (MM: Water = 100 g:70 ml) at pH of 6.5, incubation temperature: 30℃± 1℃for 30 days would be the standard technique for mass production of P. parasiticum.展开更多

The objective of this study is to show that it is possible to locate areas with the presence or absence of flies by remote sensing means, thereby simplifying the traditional way of detection of these plagues. In the field, groups of traps were selected where flies had been captured, as well as areas in which there was no capture in the traps. The radiometric signatures of whole trees and leaves were obtained, showing measurable differences between those specimens affected by the plague and those unaffected. Next we selected a SPOT5 image of 2007 corresponding to the study area in Calvillo, State of Aguascalientes, in Mexico, one of the major areas of guava cultures in the country. A supervised classification of the image allowed for the location of guava cultures in it. The guava culture areas obtained from this classification were validated comparing them to available maps of the cultured areas. Spectral signatures for the classes were derived from the image data. The separability of pairs of classes was also evaluated in order to maximize it. The IR/R (infrared to red ratio) ratio of the image bands was evaluated in 80 × 80 pixels around the locations of five traps where flies had been captured, and around five locations where the traps had not captured flies. Only the pixels where guava cultures were present were included in the analysis, other types of vegetation and soil coverage were rejected. We found that the index distributions with flies captured and those without flies captured cluster in two well-separated groups. We note that plotting the whole distribution of pixels around a trap yields a diagnostic view of the area, and individual index values do not provide such a view, since values with the flies' presence and without these overlap to some extent. Further analyses of other trap locations confirmed this separation and also revealed a third group of intermediate values between the two above, that are interpreted as locations in which the guava cultures are affected by the plague at an early stage of development, where the flies are not captured by the traps since they do not yet hatch. We concluded that it is possible to use remote sensing techniques to identify the presence ofAnastrepha striata and Anastrepha ludens in cultures of Psidium guajava L., even probably at early stages of development of the plague.展开更多

This lack of precision originates from a deeply rooted methodological approach which consists of considering the respective developments of literature, art, and science in isolation, without paying attention to any interference or reciprocal contamination. This defective method also affects the overlaps and contacts between high culture and popular culture. Despite the progress made over recent years, there are few researchers who approach their objective with a real awareness of the complexity of a time period which saw the appearance of mass culture in the current sense and an unprecedented boom in scientific and technological development.1 To this end, the example of the great German philosopher Walter Benjamin and his studies on Paris during the 19th century----collected in the essays on the great French poet Charles Baudelaire and especially in the monumental and unfinished work The Arcades Project--is, without doubt, a model to follow. Taking the path suggested by Benjamin, this article sets out a revision of the novel Bruges-la-Morte (1892) by the Belgian writer Georges Rodenbach, considered one of the major exponents of thefin-de-sikcle decadence, which goes beyond the usual approach of a symbolist reading, by paying special attention to the frictions between literature and technology on one hand, and between literature and popular entertainment on the other.展开更多

As the most sensitive group of the cultural assimilation, the college students practice various forms of the mass culture in their daily life. The popular culture and the everyday life are inseparable. The mass culture influences and changes the concept of our everyday life and the practice of our daily life, and enriches the connotation of the popular culture. The popular culture greatly enriches and expands the daily life of the college students with the features of the image, the nationhood and the consumption, but it also brings the negative effects that cannot be ignored. The daily life of the college students can be divided into several relative meanings according to their contents and forms, including the communication plate, the emotional plate and the leisure plate. Every meaning plate is concerned about the generation of values in the daily life of the college students, and the mass culture gives fresh and complicated contents to these meanings. How to find the values of their life and how to present oneself is the difficult problems and missions faced by the contemporary college students.展开更多

The results of experiments show that the isolated cells can survive, divide and regenerate well on the medium solidified with agar. The first division on the solid medium starts after 7 days' culture, 4 days later than the liquid culture. The survival rate of isolated cells is 71.3% on the solid medium, lower than the 86.2% of that in seawater.Thalli, thalloids, conchocelis, spermatangia and multicellular masses are developed on the solid/medium in the first month, slowly but normally. Spermatangia sacs disappear within 4 weeks. Without adding nutrient liquid onto the surface of solid medium or injecting seawater under the agar layer in order to keep moisture, the thalli and cell groups release monospores to form new thalli instead of enlarging their areas after 5 weeks' culturing. Some monospores regenerate new thalli. Other monospores lose their pigments and minimize their volume and divide quickly to form light pink calli. After 16 weeks, numerous calli can be seen on the solid medium and after 24 weeks' culturing, almost only calli and conchocelis can be seen. If the calli are immersed in seawater, the monospores are released and may develop into young thallus.展开更多

The resonance frequency of the nanoresonator can be measured with the nolinear Kerr spectrum, and the parameters that influence the nolinear Kerr spectrum are also investigated. Further, according to the relationship between frequency shifts and variable mass attached on the nanoresonator, this system can also be used to detect the mass of DNA molecules with the nolinear Kerr spectrum. Benefiting from the single spin of the NV center in diamond has a long coherence time at 300 K, the hybrid system can realize room temperature mass sensor, and the mass response rate can reach 2600 zg/Hz.展开更多
