In order to minimize the effect of the unconsidered frequency components on the generated compression pulse, the phasing-blanking effect is taken into account of designing the one^dimensionai aperiodic domain reversal structure. Hierarchic genetic algorithm for the design of a domain reversal grating to modulate the spectrum and phase of the generated SH pulse simultaneously are presented. We propose a novel non-contact rotational sensor based on a fiber Bragg grating(FBG) packaged in a core of a magnetic head, which converts the introduced strain from the circular magnetic railings ruler into the rotational information. A mathematical model is built for processing the data obtained by an interrogator, and the accuracy and resolution of the measurements are analyzed by altering the radius and period of the circular magnetic railings ruler, as well as the dimension of the sensor. The experimental results show that it is in good accordance with the theoretical analysis on rotational angle, and the fitting results indicate that the results obtained from the rotational sensor match very well with the real rotational velocity with a linearity of 0.998 and a standard error of about 0.01. 展开更多

We demonstrate a diode-pump Tm^(3+)t-doped all-fiber laser operating at 1908 nm based on a master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA) configuration. In our work, 152 W of laser output power is generated by a total incident pump power of 434 W at 790 nm, corresponding to the total optical efficiency of 35%. The laser wavelength is1908.29 nm. To the best of our knowledge, it is the highest output power reached around 1908 nm with such a narrow linewidth of 0.18 nm based on a MOPA configuration. 展开更多

An optical fiber magnetic field sensor for the dual-parameter simultaneous measurement is proposed and demonstrated. The sensor head is constructed by a peanut-shape structure and long period fiber grating(LPFG) coated by magnetic fluid(MF). The external magnetic field intensity can be measured by the variation of characteristic wavelength(Dip1 and Dip2) in interference spectrum since the effective refractive index of MF changes with external magnetic field intensity. When the external magnetic field intensity changes from 0 mT to 20 mT, the magnetic field sensitivities of Dip1 and Dip2 are -0.064 nm/mT and -0.041 nm/mT, respectively. Experimental results show that the temperature sensitivities of the Dip1 and Dip2 are 0.233 nm/℃ and 0.186 nm/°C, respectively. Therefore, the simultaneous measurement of the magnetic field intensity and temperature is demonstrated based on the sensitive matrix. It has some potential applications in aerospace, environmental monitoring and medical sensing fields. 展开更多
