The results show that the maximum principal stress and von Mises equivalent stress are quite high in the vicinity of weld/T91 interface, creep cavities are easy to form and expand in the weld/T91 interface. There are two peaks of equivalent creep strains in welded joint, and the maximum equivalent creep strain is in the place 27-32 mm away from the weld/T91 interface, and there exists creep constrain region in the vicinity of weld/T91 interface. The high stress triaxiality peak is located exactly at the weld/T91 interface. Accordingly, the weld/T91 interface is the weakest site of welded joint. Therefore, using stress triaxiality to describe creep cavity nucleation and expansion and crack development is reasonable for the dissimilar metal welded joint between austenitic and martensitic steel.展开更多

The calculation indicates that the energy release rates G3 corresponding to a3 is greater than that of G1 corresponding to a1, which indicate that a3 will extend first as compared to a1, this results can illustrate qualitatively the observations of Haicheng foreshock distribution along a3′s orientation and in its northwest extending part; analyses also show that there may exist two types of secondary cracks in the step zone between a1 and a3, tensile cracks and shearing cracks, which may provide space and channels for fluid transportation on one hand and may transform slip between the two faults on the other hand. otherwise because the variations of foreshock locations with time have the spreading tendency to north west direction along a3 and the fractals for the foreshocks are much less than for aftershocks, therefore the fractures for foreshocks may have relatively uniform orientations and may connect with each other as the evolution process of the foreshock series, the effects of which may be considered as that of a3′s growing to the northwest, for this case the variations of the mean stresses C, and the maximum shearing stresses Sm, near a1 are then calculated, the results that tensile Cm, increase mean the local confining pressure or frictional stress decrease as the development of the for eshocks, and at the same period the Sm increases, the combining effects of the two types of variations may help the occurrence of slip or initial fracture on the end part of a1, that is the occurrence and the development of foreshocks may have the promoting function to the occurrence of the main shock if the stress level in the source area has already been high enough, furthermore if another fault of a2 is then introduced further in the direction of NNE, the frictional stresses and maximum shearing stresses on the end part of a1 will de creased further, this effects may be something like pouring more oil on the fire.展开更多

In this study, elastic plane stress finite element modeling incorporating realistic rock parameters was used to calculate the stress field, displacement field, and defor- mation of the plate interactions in the eastern Mediterranean. Modeled stress data for the African- Arabian-Anatolian plate interactions with fixed European platform correlate well with observed contemporary stress indicator from the world stress map (WSM) and focal mechanism of earthquakes; while displacement field agrees qualitatively well with GPS vectors and sense of motion indicated by focal mechanisms for large crustal earthquakes (Ms〉6) and plate motion models. Modeling result shows the direction of maximum horizontal compressive stress (σHmax) toward the direction of absolute motion of these plates. Large perturbations in σHmax orientations are shown to occur in and around tectonic boundaries between those plates. It is observed that, although the African plate acts mostly as indenter, which transmits the collisional motion from the Arabian plate to the Anatolian plate, in the current situation, the far-field stress, probably from the subduction in Aegean Arc, is needed to satisfy the contemporary stress field in Anatolia.展开更多

In add...The situation of an off-center casing under non-uniform ground stress can occur in the process of drilling a salt-gypsum formation, and the related casing stress calculation has not yet been solved analytically. In addition, the experimental equipment in many cases cannot meet the actual conditions and the experimental cost is very high. These comprehensive factors cause the existing casing design to not meet the actual conditions and cause casing deformation, affecting the drilling operation in Tarim oil field. The finite element method is the only effective method to solve this problem at present, but the re-modelling process is time-consuming because of the changes in the parameters, such as the cement properties, casing centrality, and the casing size. In this article,an artificial intelligence method based on support vector machine(SVM) to predict the maximum stress of an offcenter casing under non-uniform ground stress has been proposed. After a program based on a radial basis function(RBF)-support vector regression(SVR)(ε-SVR) model was established and validated,we constructed a data sample with a capacity of 120 by using the finite element method, which could meet the demand of the nine-factor ε-SVR model to predict the maximum stress of the casing. The results showed that the artificial intelligence prediction method proposed in this manuscript had satisfactory prediction accuracy and could be effectively used to predict the maximum stress of an off-center casing under complex downhole conditions.展开更多

Grinding- aided electrochemical discharge machining ...The problem of eliminating edge-chipping at the entrance and exit of the hole while drilling brittle materials is still a challenging task in different industries. Grinding- aided electrochemical discharge machining (G-ECDM) is a promising technology for drilling advanced hard-to-ma- chine ceramics, glass, composites, and other brittle mate- rials. Edge-chipping at the entrance of the hole can be fully eliminated by optimizing the machining parameters of G-ECDM. However, edge-chipping at the exit of the hole is difficult to eliminate during the drilling of ceramics and glass. This investigation suggests some practical ways to reduce edge-chipping at the exit of the hole. For this pur- pose, a three-dimensional finite element model was developed, and a coupled field analysis was conducted to study the effect of four parameters, i.e., cutting depth, support length, applied voltage, and pulse-on time, on the maximum normal stress in the region where the edge- chipping initiates. The model is capable of predicting the edge-chipping thickness, and the results predicted by the model are in close agreement with the experiment results. This investigation recommends the use of a low voltage and low pulse-on time at the hole entrance and exit when applying G-ECDM to reduce the edge-chipping thickness. Moreover, the use of a full rigid support in the form of a base plate or sacrificial plate beneath the workpiece can postpone the initiation of chipping by providing support when the tool reaches the bottom layer of the workpiece, thereby reducing the edge-chipping thickness.展开更多

文摘The application of magnesium alloys to automobiles is increasing due to their superior specific strength and specific stiffness. In this study,an upper sheet of AZ31 magnesium alloy and a lower sheet of cold-rolled steel were joined by self-piercing riveting(SPR),a method commonly used to join automotive panels.A cross-shaped specimen was fabricated with a punching force of 35 kN,which exhibited the best joint strength for the SPR joint specimen geometry.Monotonic and fatigue strengths were evaluated using cross-shaped specimens at loading angles of 0°,45°,and 90°.The load amplitude corresponding to the fatigue endurance limit was assumed to be at 106 cycles, and the fatigue ratios(=fatigue endurance limit/static strength)at the loading angles of 0°,45°,and 90°are 22%,13%,and 9%,respectively.For all three loading angle specimens, fatigue cracks initiated at the triple point where the rivet shank, the upper sheet and the lower sheet are in contact with each other, with the cracks propagating through the thickness of the upper sheet and ultimately leading to fracture. The fatigue lifetimes were evaluated through the von-Mises stress, maximum principal stress, and equivalent stress intensity factor. It was found that the fatigue lifetimes could be evaluated most appropriately through the maximum principal stress.

文摘The maximum principal stress, von Mises equivalent stress, equivalent creep strain, stress triaxiality in dissimilar metal welded joints between austenitic(HR3C) and martensitic heat-resistant steel(T91) are simulated by FEM at 873 K and under inner pressure of 42.26 MPa. Therefore, using stress triaxiality to describe creep cavity nucleation and expansion and crack development is reasonable for the dissimilar metal welded joint between austenitic and martensitic steel.

文摘For the stress-constrained topology optimization of a turbine disk under centrifugal loads, the jagged boundaries of the mesh and the gray densities on the solid/void interfaces could make the calculated stress field inconsistent with the actual value. It may result in overestimating the maximum stress and thus affect the effectiveness of stress constraints. This paper proposes a new method for predicting the maximum stress to overcome the difficulty. In the process,a predicted density is newly defined to obtain stable boundaries with thin layers of gray elements,a transition factor is innovatively proposed to evaluate the effects of intermediate-density elements, two different stiffness penalty schemes are flexibly used to calculate the elastic modulus of elements, and a linear stress penalty is further adopted to relax the stress field of the structure. The proposed approach for predicting the maximum stress value is verified by the analysis of a structure with smooth boundaries and the topology optimization of a turbine disk.An updating scheme of the stress constraint in the topology optimization is also developed using the predicted maximum stress. Some key ingredients affecting the optimization results are discussed in detail. The results prove the effectiveness and efficacy of the proposed maximum stress prediction and developed stress constraint methods.

X-ray diffraction instrument, quantitative metallography analysis instrument, etc.,the effect of the rare earth elements on the mierostrueture of alloys has also been examined.
文摘In this paper,a nonlocal theory of fracture for brittle materials has been systematically devel- oped, which is composed of the nonlocal elastic stress fields of Griffith cracks of mode-Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ,the asymptotic forms of the stress fields at the neighborhood of the crack tips, and the maximum tensile stress criterion for brittle fracture. As an application of the theory, the fracture criteria of cracks of mode-Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ and mixed mode Ⅰ-Ⅱ,Ⅰ-Ⅲ are given in detail and compared with some experimental data and the theoretical results of minimum strain energy density factor.
文摘Assuming that principal axis of the distribution of the 1975 Haicheng mainshocks and aftershocks means that there is already a fault (a1 ) on N67°W, which together with Dayanghe fault (a3) on its right side with the orien tation of N50°W form a left step and left lateral fault system. The calculation indicates that the energy release rates G3 corresponding to a3 is greater than that of G1 corresponding to a1, which indicate that a3 will extend first as compared to a1, this results can illustrate qualitatively the observations of Haicheng foreshock distribution along a3′s orientation and in its northwest extending part; analyses also show that there may exist two types of secondary cracks in the step zone between a1 and a3, tensile cracks and shearing cracks, which may provide space and channels for fluid transportation on one hand and may transform slip between the two faults on the other hand. otherwise because the variations of foreshock locations with time have the spreading tendency to north west direction along a3 and the fractals for the foreshocks are much less than for aftershocks, therefore the fractures for foreshocks may have relatively uniform orientations and may connect with each other as the evolution process of the foreshock series, the effects of which may be considered as that of a3′s growing to the northwest, for this case the variations of the mean stresses C, and the maximum shearing stresses Sm, near a1 are then calculated, the results that tensile Cm, increase mean the local confining pressure or frictional stress decrease as the development of the for eshocks, and at the same period the Sm increases, the combining effects of the two types of variations may help the occurrence of slip or initial fracture on the end part of a1, that is the occurrence and the development of foreshocks may have the promoting function to the occurrence of the main shock if the stress level in the source area has already been high enough, furthermore if another fault of a2 is then introduced further in the direction of NNE, the frictional stresses and maximum shearing stresses on the end part of a1 will de creased further, this effects may be something like pouring more oil on the fire.
文摘The contemporary stress field in the earth's crust is important and provides insights into mechanisms that drive plate motions. It is observed that, although the African plate acts mostly as indenter, which transmits the collisional motion from the Arabian plate to the Anatolian plate, in the current situation, the far-field stress, probably from the subduction in Aegean Arc, is needed to satisfy the contemporary stress field in Anatolia.

文摘The situation of an off-center casing under non-uniform ground stress can occur in the process of drilling a salt-gypsum formation, and the related casing stress calculation has not yet been solved analytically. The results showed that the artificial intelligence prediction method proposed in this manuscript had satisfactory prediction accuracy and could be effectively used to predict the maximum stress of an off-center casing under complex downhole conditions.
文摘The problem of eliminating edge-chipping at the entrance and exit of the hole while drilling brittle materials is still a challenging task in different industries. Moreover, the use of a full rigid support in the form of a base plate or sacrificial plate beneath the workpiece can postpone the initiation of chipping by providing support when the tool reaches the bottom layer of the workpiece, thereby reducing the edge-chipping thickness.
