In order to know the ventilating capacity of imperial smelt furnace(ISF), and increase the output of plumbum, an intelligent modeling method based on gray theory and artificial neural networks(ANN) is proposed, in whi...In order to know the ventilating capacity of imperial smelt furnace(ISF), and increase the output of plumbum, an intelligent modeling method based on gray theory and artificial neural networks(ANN) is proposed, in which the weight values in the integrated model can be adjusted automatically. An intelligent predictive model of the ventilating capacity of the ISF is established and analyzed by the method. The simulation results and industrial applications demonstrate that the predictive model is close to the real plant, the relative predictive error is 0.72%, which is 50% less than the single model, leading to a notable increase of the output of plumbum.展开更多

Some examples for reasoning and operating for this set have been illustrated. Therefore the article has proved theoretically that it is possible to significantly increase the abilities of reasoning or operating and being- understood by computer in data mining of EMR, etc for a terminology system including relation (or linkage) or restriction (or modifier) items such as SNOMED. In artificial intelligence (AI), ther...This paper models a biological brain—excluding motivation (e.g., emotions)—as a Finite Automaton in Developmental Network (FA-in-DN), but such an FA emerges incrementally in DN. In artificial intelligence (AI), there are two major schools: symbolic and connectionist. Weng 2011 [1] proposed three major properties of the Developmental Network (DN) which bridged the two schools: 1) From any complex FA that demonstrates human knowledge through its sequence of the symbolic inputs-outputs, a Developmental Program (DP) incrementally develops an emergent FA itself inside through naturally emerging image patterns of the symbolic inputs-outputs of the FA. The DN learning from the FA is incremental, immediate and error-free;2) After learning the FA, if the DN freezes its learning but runs, it generalizes optimally for infinitely many inputs and actions based on the neuron’s inner-product distance, state equivalence, and the principle of maximum likelihood;3) After learning the FA, if the DN continues to learn and run, it “thinks” optimally in the sense of maximum likelihood conditioned on its limited computational resource and its limited past experience. This paper gives an overview of the FA-in-DN brain theory and presents the three major theorems and their proofs.展开更多
Assessment is an important part of learning process. It can be defined as the process of gathering information for the purpose of making judgments about a current state of affairs presumably for the purpose of enhanci...Assessment is an important part of learning process. It can be defined as the process of gathering information for the purpose of making judgments about a current state of affairs presumably for the purpose of enhancing future outcomes [1]. It determines whether or not the goals of education are being met. Typically, most assessment tools give a numerical score as the result of the assessment. This may not be enough to improve the student’s progress. In this paper we defined main problems in current assessment tools and proposed a new assessment model that uses notions in knowledge space theory to overcome the shortage of the current assessment models. The experiment result showed that this new prototype made the assessment process easier and more effective. However, assessment affects decisions about grades, instructional needs and curriculum. This is an important phase of the learning process being showed in this paper in knowledge states framework. Future research will focus on making the tool behave intelligently to improve students’ learning momentum.展开更多
